Snap-on Level5 ATC tool control system

At the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference held last week in San Diego, Snap-on Industrial director of business development Joe Chwan gave a presentation on the capabilities of the Level5 ATC tool control system. Level5 ATC combines a toolbox with foam tool cutouts in each drawer, a series of digital cameras and mirrors inside the toolbox, a touchscreen display and software to track tools. As can be seen in this video of Chwan's presentation and the toolbox system, mechanics can open and shut drawers and remove and replace tools rapidly. Level5 ATC tracks every move as well as calibration due times, broken tools and maintains an audit trail.
