Snap-on Made in Mexico!?

Yeah, no kidding.
It reads "Snap-on ZR7 MEXICO" however that doesn't convince me that the ratchet is real. The part number is FAR off any SKU that I am aware of for this tool type for Snap-on. I'm reluctant to admit that the font of the stamping is dead on in appearance (but not in overall context). Note the poor condition helps to deepen the disguise...or not.

I have an 1/4" ZR7 Snapon Mexican Ratchet. Excellent tool (mine was manufactured on 1970 according Snapon date coding chart). Sadly the pinion got wear thru the years and the old 20 tooth drive is no longer available. So I deciced to try with the 30 tooth drive. I bought the repair kit RKRA930A and let me tell you guys that works perfectly well. Now I happily get my mexican ratchet repaired and upgraded all at once 😊

It was probably made especially for mexico, I do have wrenches that are made in Mexico by snap on mexico, they did just a couple of years and move productions, I don't get it, they were real nice, even nicer than the USA ones, but we will never know!

Hey Josh ive seen another snap on ratchet on ebay that was mexico and right now theres some sockets from mexico listed.. type in snap on mexico.. it looks legit but cant find anything online..

This information is based on the feedback my Snap-on dealer was given after contacting Snap-on Corporate. @@YungJosh50 That is so interesting! Do you have a instagram? Mine is Douglyota and you should join online tool community on facebook, I think knocks started it up. Heres the sockets I seen this morning and I beleive the ratchet I seen that was "made in mexico" was the same model but cleaner i think..
