You did a great job in showing these products some manufacturer should hire you to advertise. It's obvious you aren't canted to a particular manufacturer. Thank you.
@@rvtechpro quick update: I went to harbor freight during the labor day sale, the icon light is massive compared to the regular braun lights, ended up buying the icon slim folding light instead, I figured it was more practical for my uses.
I was checking these out yesterday. The braun was impressive for the price but the icon was incredibly bright. You can get it for $80 with a frame to be used as an underhood and attach another one. I couldn't decide but will probably go for the icon kit
an alternative is to buy the one without the frame and just use the magnet to stick to any steel thing, even with aluminum hood I'm sure you can make something to stick the light to and you'll save like 30 or 40 bucks, can't remember if the icon is 40 or 50 bucks
Your review is helpful and much appreciated! One suggestion that would seriously improve it: Get yourself a tripod (or other means of holding your camera STEADY). Try to approach using a video camera this way: HOLD THE CAMERA STEADY -- ideally on a tripod -- almost all the time. Motion should be by the subject NOT by moving the camera except in rare moments as when following a moving subject. Any camera motion should be SLOW and SMOOTH except when you are deliberately trying to induce nausea or anxiety in your viewers. If you keep your camera steady, those of us who watch your work won't need gravol.
I have both of them. The Snap-on light last longer for sure in the cold. 1/2 hour longer. So you can buy 2 HF lights and still have money left over for a few cold snacks compared to the Snap-On light. Just saying the HF light is still the better bang for the buck!
This is off topic but I'm currently a fleet mechanic working on semi trucks. There's a rv place that's opening across from my current work place. How do you like working as a rv tech?
My snap on light has a metal case. This is the second video I’ve come across that’s advertising for harbor freight. This happens constantly. You can’t rely on these videos for HONEST reviews
He must have the 400 lumen abs plastic model….because the 700 lumens snap on is definitely aluminum. I’ve had 3 Braun stick lights the switch has failed on all three. So if snap on last then personally dint care about cost savings…..some people think it’s cheaper better way to go…..maybe true for something rarely use
@@fike301 never said I dont like Snap on. It is just a light. Same as a tool box. A tool box never made anyone any money. Put your money where it can make you money. Buying something just to show off for others is not the smartest thing financially to do. I own plenty of snap on products, and all of them have made me money. If you know, you know, if you don't, you don't.
Had a lot of dudes on this train when we had our own tool boxes at my airline...dudes were Snap-On crazy. Was ridiculous to me cause there was never a time where their tools outperformed my craftsman stuff, just cost them a lot more than what I was paying. If a tool does the job, and consistently, I don't care where it comes from.@@Boobtube.
I have the HF version. It is incredibly well made. I wouldn’t be surprised if it withstood a truck running over it. To me this is the best product from HF that I have purchased.
Everything harbor freight sells is not better than snap on, some of stuff is good , some not so good. I have a folding Braun light stick led which have been through three of because the switch goes bad…..so an out of the box comparison isn’t the whole story for me.
@@rvtechproapparently you have an imposter as the snap on web site says aluminum: Features • Built with aircraft-grade aluminum alloy to last in the toughest environments • Variable brightness switch (0-100%) gives the ability to select the right amount of light for every situation • 10-hour operation time on low; 1-hour on high • IP65-rated for water and dust resistance • Battery "fuel gauge" provides the ability to instantly know how much power is remaining • USB-C power connection for hassle-free recharging-no need to look at the cable and cord
The snap on 400 lumen is plastic, it’s also not 100 bucks either so if you’re gonna compare stuff at least get the facts straight….the 700 is aluminum obviously something is amiss.
