Thanks for making the video guide, very helpful. Unfortunately, I'm running into a show-stopper with both Windows 7 and Windows 10 after multiple tries. I get the message "Hardware Initialization Warning The application has detected that the hardware is not fully initialized. Please re-launch the application. If the problem persists, please reboot your device and then re-launch the application. The application will now exit." I figured it was a driver issue, but the M4 scope device appears under USB devices in device manager and there are no unrecognized devices. So, I'm at a loss to why this isn't working. I'm doing 17.2 and I have a Verus D10. If you have any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated!
I have a verus D10 and I had the same issue... I just re-installed the SUSI drivers (change compatibility to Windows XP SP2, and run as Admin for file Install.bat), and M4 Scope driver and it fixed it.

The Video and Wifi Drivers are available online, you will need to use an external hard drive or thumb drive but here are the file locations 1. Wifi - Just copy and past the hardware ID (found in Device manager--right click on wifi driver--then select properties, then details tab, then hardware ID's) --- The Wireless driver should also have been in the C Drive, under the foler Intel N-100 Wifi Crane Peak Driver. 3. Hello, great video. Thank you for explaining. I came accross this looking on how to fix my hard drive. My VERUS 325 wireless is not booting up, it used to show the Windows XP Logo then stall into a black screen boot error. I tried switching the bios start up option, now goes straight to system restore, it goes up to 27% then an error pops up then it takes me to the same black screen, boot error.. install disk.. any way possible to get this hard drive cloned (even if windows dont boot up) get the folders you copied into D Drive and install a bootable version of the windows 7?
I tried putting windows 7 on my verus d10 and I found the scope drivers but when I try to diagnostic suite to boot up I get an error saying A problem was detected with the authorization of the application please contact customer care any advise. Awesome video!!!
This video doesn't provide the correct steps to get Diagnostic Suite working on your D10 VERUS. This video is for the EEMS325 VERUS. The D10 requires a different route to get things to work. Read the PINNED comment and you will find how some people got it to work.
thanks for this video. i was going to buy a Verus D10 20.2 updated today ( for 1Kbox) after i scan my car and showed codes, to go forward each code had FIX IT botton and was forced to connect to web using a QR code but we did not have wifi that area. Q. the snap-on must be connected to WIFI for full scan functionality? 2. to use the tool we have to subscribe of snap on? how come some older models just work without wifi and no subscription as i see in shops around.

It's located on the *D* Drive. The folder that has the files in it is hidden. You'll have to *Show Hidden Files & Folders* to see it. Just take a look at this video and I show you how to enable that. 17.2 is the last update Snap On offered. Probably because they weren't selling enough newer ones and wanted to force buyers into upgrading to new hardware.
Hi, what do you think of installing Win7 on EEMS323D? With a RAM and SSD upgrade. Would it work, or it would be better of with WinXp? Also, did you manage to get the buttons to work on Win7? Thanks
It won't install on that version of the VERUS. Windows 7 requires a 1GHz processor. Your VERUS only has a 600MHz processor. However, you can still upgrade the memory to 1GB....That is the maximum it will allow. I never got the buttons to work. I never used them anyway.
The following post is for your own risk! DON'T PLAY AROUND WITH SETTINGS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE. THIS IS FOR MORE ADVANCED COMPUTER NERDS...HAHA. The BIOS password for the VERUS is: WXY8303 Press the DELETE key on your external keyboard while it's booting and you will be presented with the BIOS. On the EEMS323 VERUS you will have to press the F8 key to get the BIOS menu to show. If you're installing Windows 7, you can change the IDE setting in the BIOS from IDE to AHCI and then install Windows 7. The tool will run a little faster. However, if you do change it to AHCI, Windows XP will not boot up. You will have to change it back to IDE. However, both Windows 7 and Windows XP will boot fine using IDE mode. Windows 10 can also boot using both IDE or AHCI. You just need to change it before you install a newer operating system.
Turbo, I have a newer verus pro got all the way to installing scope driver and no scope driver folder missing Diagnostic suite hangs up with about 10% left Big H
I've never installed Windows 7 on the newer VERUS Pro. You should have already copied that driver over to the "D" Drive before you installed Windows 7 on the C Drive. This video shows you where it's located.
I followed these instructions for my verus D10. In device manager, my scope will not install. I extracted the Cyusb file to my desktop, and then try to install the driver in device manager. I get "m4 ezloader (no firmware) the system cannot find the file specified. What am I doing wrong?
Read all the comments mate, someone else had the same issue 1.Extract the Cyusb.exe from ‘Snapon Software Folder’ 2.Put all of the files into one folder 3. Install drivers

Would you be interested in making our own Verus tablet lol? , A Tablet that runs the Diagnostic suite? Connects Via Bluetooth through the dongle? I have been thinking about this for awhile and truthfully you started the train of thought but what put it in motion is that Snap On Does not support our Tablet no Longer. I installed Windows 7 startup edition on a SSD. All is up and running, but pretty slow. However, the Verus cannot locate drivers for the Bluetooth scan module 4. I plugged it into the USB port but it just can't find any drivers on the unit or online. Any ideas? Google failed me.
Why would anyone want to upgrade from the XP that's on there, specially if you lose the buttons? It's not like I am using this scanner for my daily computer, so it has one job, and with XP it does that very well. Just curious

I have the same verus here with the samsung ssd. Wondering if the upgrade would be worth it for me. What did you gain by going to Windows 7 on the verus? Does it boot up any faster? Do you have to do any less restarts during the day? Are the scans / code reads any faster?
Upgrading the RAM from 1GB to 2GB makes it faster. Upgrading to Windows 7 gives you solid state hard drive support. Windows XP is not compatible with an SSD. Look it up on the Internet. Windows 7 is more reliable...no reboots like XP. SSD will always boot faster with any operating system. Check out my other Windows 7 booting video's. It does not give faster scanning/code readings since that is based on the hardware that Snap-On used such as the CPU/RAM/MEMORY.
I do everything install the driver but I don't what I miss diagnostics suite won't boot up keep giving me error and the installer icon doesn't show in the desktop

Has any one tried installing and getting the verus diagnostic suit or even the scope on say a windows 7 tablet? i would like a back up plan if my verus ever dies cause I'm not buying another 10K scan tool again from snap on, but their is somethings that verus diagnostic software does well on cars vs other scan tools . I like the scope for its voltmeter and doing some quick scope testing instead of breaking out the big boy scope.
The software is licensed to each machine and is what you called *married* to one machine with a license. It will install on a PC though but good luck to get it work.

Can I still update the software with out changing the windows because the windows can’t be changed to windows 7 or 10 so all I’m asking can the software be updated to 17.2 with out changing the windows?
No. The only way I've heard is if one of the old dealers didn't sell a copy of the 17.2 with the REQUIRED key. There could be someone out there in the software programming field that could hack the software and not require the key to install.
@@TurboMalibuV6unlikely, snap ons cryptography methods and embedded security measures are pretty damn tight. Remember, they charge the most. They can afford to have beefed up security. If your tools already bricked I don’t see why trying isn’t an option!
If you're skipping the some of the steps that I tell you in the video, then you won't have certain folders that Diag Suite creates while it installs. If that's the case, then you won't have a folder to put your license in.
Could someone please help me? I have everything installed correctly on my Verus Pro D10 however, I’m still getting the Hardware Initialization Warning error message. I installed all the drivers including the scope driver. I tried installing the SUSI drivers, however that didn’t help either. Putting it in XP Compatibility Mode and running as administrator just closes the batch file completely and doesn’t do anything. Whenever I install the SUSI drivers normally, the only one that actually installs is the SMBus and everything else says it’s not compatible. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. Thanks.
There is a post on this video by a man named Stuart Weiss. I should be a the top of the comment section. He explains everything you should do. I've never installed Win 7 on a VERUS D10 myself .

Any idea why after installing the scope driver the scope doesn’t initialize? It see the scope is there but it doesn’t have any readings. I don’t even have any of the options on top that’s suppose to be there at the scope reading screen such as setup, data, cursors, refresh file and print. All I have is the back button.
I'm not sure why that is happening but, did you disable *Desktop Composition* here in the video---> 48:14 . If you totally disable this in the Performance tab options, it would be better.

Windows 7 will install on your VERUS PRO but the actual procedure to get Diag Suite to work on it is in written in the comment section of this video. I have PINNED that comment at the top. The name it's under is Stuart Weiss. Read through ALL OF IT.
Having issue with a Verus D10, when ShopStream tries to start it says, Warning: You cannot run in Administrator mode. Anyone else have this issue. BTW it is not set to run as administrator.
I have run Windows 10 on my older EEMS325 VERUS but it's laggy. Even the Enterprise version LTSC is laggy. I have since installed Windows 7 Starter on my VERUS and it runs even better than Windows 7 Ultimate because it's a very basic version of Windows 7....lesser than HOME version.
If you have Screen Color White problem is pluging, Reopen your unit and plug the cable for screen. is vry hard for pluging. If you have screen color black : Problem is software Windows.
I have Verus 325 also, Is it possible if you can give me the RAM chip numbers so I could order it and install it at the same time (can i install 4GB RAM have you tried it) I'm going to swap out the hard drive. also, my Verus is 15.0? will i have a problem loading the17.2 later on, appreciate your response.
The EEMS325 VERUS can only use up to 2GB of memory. 4GB will not work. DDR3 laptop memory is what to buy. I can't tell you the exact part number though. You will still be able to upgrade to 17.2 if you can actually get it. Snap-On discontinued support of the older scan tools probably because they can perform the same work as the newly released scan tools by allowing users to buy newly released software for older hardware

My question is how do I get to the RAM socket, where is it located do i have to open the front of the case where the 9 black snaps are on the top and bottom of the case. Please let me know, I'm also talking to a couple of friends of my that are computer engineers about the front panel buttons not working in Windows 7 and 10. Thanks
@@rover1722 From what I remember, you don't have to take the screen out but it will make it easier to access some connectors. The CPU/Memory board is bolted in from the back side. You'll have to completely take the motherboard out of the case. Watch out for connectors/wiring.
Other than user interface or preference, is there any significant benefit of using Windows 7 vs Windows 10? The other video shows load/boot times to be fairly similar from power on to Diagnostic Suite fully loaded. Will all of the same drivers work for the touch screen, etc? If using Windows 10, is the Home version OK or do I need Pro?
I don't see any benefit at all using Windows 10 over Win 7. In fact, Win 10 is less compatible than Windows 7... but it will still work. The version of Windows 10 you will want to use is called *Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016*. Watch some RU-vid video's on the differences between that version, Home & Pro. One thing you don't want on your VERUS is Cortana, Microsoft Edge, XBox or all the other bull-sht that Microsoft installs. It will be SLOOOWW. One of the things when you install Windows 7 or 10 is Diagnostic Suite has a glitch in the GUI that does not happen in Windows 7 IF YOU TURN OFF A SETTING that makes it compatible. This setting isn't available in Windows 10 so you will always have that issue. In this video, I show you what setting to turn off in in Windows 7 that will eliminate that glitch right here --> 48:14. It's not Diagnostic Suite's fault that it does that; it's got to do with the *Desktop Composition* that Windows 7 uses by default. Windows 7 is what I prefer on this older VERUS. It's slightly slower than Windows XP but not that much. I've noticed a lot of people on the Snap-On forum very concerned about security of using Windows XP while on their Network/Internet so Windows 7 would give them more security. Plus, you will get an updated version if Internet Explorer that is much more compatible with today's web pages. I'm sure Windows 7 Home would work just fine too since Windows 7 Ultimate is overkill for what the VERUS does. If you do exactly what I say in this video, exactly in the same order, I'm pretty sure you will be pleased with it. After you get everything working good, I would highly suggest you remove the Windows 7 hard drive and clone it so if something goes wrong, you can always go back easily. Once you install Windows, you will NOT get the option during boot-up to RESTORE your VERUS. No, Windows 10 takes an entirely different touch screen driver to get it to work on this VERUS. Beneath my video, click on the SHOW MORE and I link to everything you will need to install both operating systems including the touch screen drivers. One last upgrade to your VERUS that will help is to upgrade the system DDR2 memory from 1GB to 2GB. Windows 7 will use about 600 to 700MB on it's own without Diagnostic running.
I forgot to mention that my Verus is the newer D10 (Pro) model. Do you have any videos or specific advice on working with this model? I did clone my original drive a while back and have been using an SSD and it did improve the speed somewhat. I did a full image backup of my current system too so I can easily go back if needed. I had a good Windows 10 Home key to use, so I started the process already. If it fails I can re-clone.
I copied the Drivers folder as described here but I don't see an EZScope folder in it. I did a driver backup with a utility called Double Driver and I am attempting to re-install some drivers that way. I just can't figure out which one is for the scope.
I've not tried to install Win 7 on the D10. The scope driver on the EEMS325 is named ezload.inf & CyEzScope.inf. Also, CyEzScope.sys & CYUSB.sys are in the same folder on mine.
The driver backup utility seems to work well enough. I couldn't find the scope driver in the Drivers folder that I copied over from C: but I was able to install the driver from the folder of backed up drivers. The device manager shows everything working and no warning signs but the diagnostic software won't load. It stops with the error message that you mentioned in the video when the driver becomes uninstalled for some reason. I tried reinstalling and it says it worked but still no go to load the program.

Antivirus will make it even slower than it already is. I don't use it and I've never gotten a virus. I also don't use it as a personal computer to surf the web.
Anyone have a source for the Diagnostic Suite? Working on one of these and have some of the files just not the main install files for the diagnostic suite.
I had them all working now only keyboard and camera dont work msg me if you fix it you can manually create shortcuts for them or use a button macro app i find u need a new keyboard app and if u go to snapon there is a section with keyboard fix
Do you mean you're trying the clone the VERUS' hard drive with a lap top? If you're trying to clone the VERUS' *software* to a laptop it isn't going to work.
I've never gotten Diagnostic Suite to load completely up on anything other than a VERUS. I've gotten Diagnostic Suite to partially load on a computer but it will not load completely due to it not finding the scope hardware. When you say you got it working on an XP computer, you're saying you got Diagnostic to load completely up and can navigate within the Diag Suite?
Yes ....I cloned the hard drive in a verus with 15.2....wiped of the hd from my laptop and rebooted with the what the verus has....the shows that the scope driver is there but can't use it ...cause I don't have the ports ...

Does anyone have a license for a Verus Pro? Version 16.2.1 or later. I upgraded, and I guess the program they have on their website to update diagnostic suite doesn't update the license file, so I'm having problems with updating the OS
You can't use anyone else's license on your Verus for Diagnostic Suite. You'll have to use your original license to activate the version that your Verus originally had.

You can't get 17.2 unless you find a Snap=On dealer with an unsold copy of that version. If you want Windows 7 on your tool, you'll have to reinstall 15.4 since that's what your original license file will only allow.
Also my internet explorer barely works and suretrack doesn’t open with the internet I have is there a way to change the default browser for sure track or no ?
I've got the files in a ZIP folder that you can download directly from the link I provided in the description. You can RIGHT CLICK on the link and select SAVE LINK AS. After you hit SAVE, you might have a pop-up if you're using Microsoft Edge browser. If you do see it, it may say the file is unsafe. Just hover your mouse over the file and select KEEP....and then select KEEP ANYWAY. The file will start downloading. That's how I just downloaded it. The Licenses that are in the download WILL NOT work on YOUR VERUS.
I have tried to do this on a Verus Pro with Windows 10. I can get the OS to install and run smoothly, but I can not run Diagnostic Suite. I don't know if the problem is a different scan tool or if it is the OS. The scope driver is not in the driver folder and I don't know where it is. I called Snap On tech support and was toldl that it can not be done. That is all the help they were willing to give. If you have any Ideas, I would appreciate it. Otherwise I might just trade up.

Not yet. I had 16.2 software and just upgraded to 18.4 today. I am trying again to see if it will be different. I will tell you that the scope driver is not listed in the drivers folder. My first issue has been to try to find the right one.
@@seanhenretty283 You might find out where the driver is located if you put your Windows XP operating system back in your VERUS. Go to the device manager and find the scope listed there and double click it. I can't remember but I think there may be a tab showing the *details* of the driver and where it's located on the hard drive. If you find that location, copy that driver over to your Windows 7 or 10 operation system and try to see if it will install it. If it doesn't, try the compatibility mode.

You will have to enable *hidden files and folders*. If you look at this video, I show you how to do it. Once you do, you should see more folders in the D Drive.
Thanks for the response and for the very detailed video. I have already done that, but there was nothing other than the license file and an older installer (9.4). Any other ideas where I can find the installer?
@@shaungillilan600 If you DO NOT see a folder named *SnaponSoftware* in your *D* Drive then someone has deleted it. What is the latest version of Diagnostic Suite your VERUS had on it while using Windows XP?
Remove your old hard drive and make a back up image of it first using www.macrium.com/reflectfree cloning software. Then, clone to your SSD. A fair warning though, Windows XP will work on an SSD at first but it will eventually slow down to a crawl because Windows XP was not designed to for an SSD.

No. The Gen 1 VERUS does not have the required processor or video hardware. If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Finally is stumbled across this video and got so excited when I saw "older verus 2gb windows 7" and my face went :O ...and then I read this fellows question and all my dreams and aspirations were crushed haha! Oh well... I guess I'm off to find me a stick of 1GB ddr1 ram, a 256GB SSD and a couple of replacement fans instead. Great write up by the way! Hi am in the process of upgrade a verus from ver 11 to 16.2. I get an error code and install is aborted. would you be able to advise as to any work arounds for theis problem? thanks
Fatal error while checking for valid service release existing bumdle C:\windows\system32\cmd.ese/c exit 1 “invalid upgrade path. Cannot install service release 16.2.1.0 over the current version”. Returned with non-zero exit code 1 (exit code 1) Any ideas ?
I have a EEMS323 that has the exact same fatal error except it won't install *automatic update* service release 15.4.1 over 11.2.1. I called Snap On and they remotely tried to fix it but they screwed my scanner up worse. Now, the scanner module won't even open up without a fatal error to scan cars. They then tried to tell me that the hard drive was going bad and I should send it in to get it fixed. So basically, I went from a scan tool that worked when using Version 11.2 to one that doesn't work. Even doing a total system restore didn't help not one bit. I know what the problem is...the scan module tried to update and it screwed the module up. They are just trying to scam me out of money.
The unit is not a blue-tooth module one but the key one EEMSGB323B. That shouldn't be a problem for a upgrade. i think the unit cant be updated straight from 11.4 to 16.2 straight off thats just what i am thinking. but in updated stages! Any other ideas to sort this would be helpful thanks. Also what memory module can i use to take this to 2gb or is 1gb its max? thanks
Mine was not a Bluetooth module one either. It uses keys also. The scanner module is inside the Verus just like yours. This video is not the same version of the VERUS you and I are talking about. My EEMS-323 VERUS was trying to install version 15.4.1 automatically and it would not work. I tried everything I knew how to do to try to get it to install 15.4.1 but never did. That's why I called Snap-On and they wound up screwing internal scan module up. The EEMS-323 Verus can only accept 1GB of DDR memory. The EEMS-325 Verus can accept 2GB of DDR2 memory.

Are you trying to install Windows 7 or going back to Windows XP? The IMAGE is a very large file. Plus, if you deleted your ENTIRE hard drive, you just deleted the license that you will need to reinstall Diagnostic Suite. Without the license, you're basically screwed.

I don't remember the password but I did put it somewhere in the comments. Keo looking at the comments to see if you find it. Remember, if you change it boot ON ACHI, you'll have to change it back if you want to boot into Windows XP again.
@@TurboMalibuV6 It's a registry setting that you change before changing that to AHCI. But I'll look further down in comments for the password. By chance, did you ever get the buttons to work? I'm playing around with that as well. If you didn't and I figure it out, I'll post here. I'm a computer guy trying to fix one up for my pop so I may be able to figure it out. We'll see. Great video by the way.
So I've narrowed the buttons down to (I think) the Susi drivers. I'm trying to see if I can do something in the inf files to get it to install the driver properly
@@EnzoMarraJr I never got around to try to find a fix for the buttons. I still have my scanner working on Win 7...but now I've got Windows 7 Starter on it.
