When David was "crying" about how people could do that. You can see Peck rolling her eyes. I chuckled hard at that. Even she couldn't believe how bad the acting was.
Yeah, I like Steven Bauer, but this film here doesn't appear to be his best work, and that "How could people do that, how could people do that" scene is pretty awkward (he sounds more tired and grumpy than sad to me). And yeah, I get the impression that Chelsea Field is mentally rolling her eyes in that scene:-).
@@erikbjelke4411 I mean, I know Bernie was his pal and all, but you'd think he'd respond in a more clinical manner in that spot. I think that part should've been written in a less soap opera-like fashion, so in this case it doesn't seem like Steven Bauer was assisted by the script there.
Man, Steven Bauer had a pretty interesting acting career. From starring alongside Pacino in ''Scarface'' to 90's softcore-thrillers like this here, to acclaimed tv-shows like ''Breaking Bad'' or ''Ray Donovan'' in more recent times. Also, prime Pam Anderson *insert Leo DiCaprio bites his fist*-meme.
When I was in high school one of my friends became obsessed with this movie as part of his larger Pam Anderson obsession and made us all play a Vampire: The Masquerade campaign he wrote based on this debacle.
@@Eisenwulf666 We completely ruined everything he wrote, thankfully, eventually forcing some random person we’d kidnapped to overdose on heroin so we could get high off of their blood. He was not amused. We were. Never did actually stay on track long enough to find out how Pam was gonna come into the story.
Thanks Cecil your review of this ‘ spectacle’ is much more enjoyable than the movie itself. I actually saw this in the mid 90s on Cinemax...yikes! If possible could you add 1977s “The Sentinel” to your review queue. It’s a cult favorite / satanic panic flick . Its watchable horror with a lot of recognizable actors.
9:28 - his acting is amazing here. You just thought he was reacting to the body, but actually he’s reacting to the contents of the toilet that he recognizes as Felicity’s and realizes he just tongue punched that booty!
Ironically, in "Barb Wire" her character insists on her clients paying her in Canadian money as U.S. dollars in that Post-Apocalyptic future had become worthless. It was hilarious since in 1996, the U.S. Dollar was still King throughout the world. A handful of years later, it was completely knocked off its perch by the British Pound. To this day, same situation.
@@Ideo7Z Well, it is. It's just happening very slowly as each year goes by. Continued inflation. Slice of Pizza was literally $1.oo when I was growing up. In some places it's over $3.oo now, and bigger cities easily charge around $5.oo.
What makes "Barb Wire" even more of a tragedy for Pamela Anderson, is that she was 3 months pregnant when shooting began. The Barb Wire outfit she wore was so constrictive (it was a corset, after all), she lost the baby during filming, which would explain the quality of the movie as a whole. Also, you forgot the superhero cartoon she did from 2003-2004, called Stripperella, which was made for the now extinct cable channel Spike TV.
What's wrong with you? I thought you are doing serious and high level materials and yet you said nothin about the length of sex scene with Pamela and how much of a body we see? How can I know if that movie is worth a shot without such a crucial information?
Seriously weird coincidental timing with this video as I was only looking up this movie a few days back. It randomly popped into my head as someone mentioned Pamela Anderson to me. One of those films that was randomly on satellite TV in the early 90s that every young lad at the time was talking about cos Pammy gets naked in it.
2:14 “She tells him she’s been transferred to _hummicide”_ Horror Geek Italian dude: “Hell yeah!” 5:34 that’s Ron and Clint Howard’s dad! 6:22 is it just me, or does that look like a cheeseburger version of Hedorah?
Even Stan Lee was more subtle about it, only one letter was the same. Bruce Banner, Peter Parker, Scott Summers, Matt Murdock, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Stephen Strange (OK that last one is two letters)... Doc Doc and Peck Peck are way overkill!
Ah, the good old 90's. When a teenager with a video store account, a VHS and a false I.D. could make a difference :D Thanks for the video Cecil. Great to see you back putting out a solid amount of content again.
I'm shocked you didn't use not one joke about Matt McCoy ''The Heartford''commericals in this LOL! But still a wonderful job on the episode Cecil I believe I remember catching this film on cable back in the day late night forgot all about really after her sex tape with Tommy Lee these films she did seemed like PG-13 IMHO. BTW I always enjoyed Shannon Tweed flicks a lot more but that's just me.
Cecil, I love that you used the whammy sound effect in this. And I loved the series Silk Stalkings. I honestly thought that Chelsea Fields played Leela on Doctor Who lol.
Not with blonde pubi.....SINCE WHEN?! She's a bottle blond. The carpet DOES NOT match the drapes, I don't even think she has any hair below her eyebrows.
I distinctly remember this running on USA at some point, and they really pushed it with constant promos. So the Silk Stalkings reference really pays off.
Man I wish I would've found this channel sooner, your content ROCKS! You should really check out the movie, "Salvador (1986)" on this channel, like how you did "The Blob". I'd think you'd be the PERFECT guy to talk about it!
@@Cesly-mo3uf I’d like to wake up in Ebenezer Scrooge-esque pajamas. Tasseled night cap, maybe holding a lit candle. Dripping hot wax on my bare feet as my memories resurface
@@GoodBadFlicks Haha increidbly ecchi but also seriously good fights. Well the manga anyway I never really saw the anime. Def has a chracter for everyone in it though. yup.
I get annoyed when a movie has characters named David or Steve. Just lazy name choices. I find it too distracting. I get it that those names might be popular but at the same time they are almost too generic to be taken seriously and I wonder if they are deliberately meant to be silly. For some reason every David or Steve I met in real life are douches.
Worth Keeter also directed an episode of Silk Stalkings. He also directed some of martial arts action star Jeff Speakman's DTV films. But yeah...all those erotic thrillers and low budget actioners...then gors on to do Power Rangeres and VR Troopers. It's a paycheck.
The Peckham shortened to Peck reminds me of the main guy from Hollywood Cop. Where is last name is Turquoise, they shorten it to Turkey, and then shorten it again to Turk.
Pam Anderson's always up to something: "Barb Wire", "Stripperella", and it seems by the looks of this film that she got started with this heroine stuff earlier than I realized. Pam Anderson's all about being a hero and saving lives, she's always here, and there...for us. Matt McCoy and his beard are in this? Well then, I'm sold! Steven Bauer too? Very super, and I've always liked Chelsea Field, I think she's quite beautiful (I'd probably be more interested in her than Pam Anderson quite honestly, though I think Anderson is kinda fun).
Steven Bauer is clearly coming from Tommy Wiseau school of acting. Look no further than the emotional scenes. He realy is hammering that Oscar performance lol.
Not sure why Pamela Anderson didn't just leave her wonderful face alone. She was unrecognizable after. I remember seeing Chelsea Field in 'The Last Boy Scout' before this. Also, the priest is Ron Howard's dad, Rance.
because aging gracefully wasn't in vogue in hollywood after cosmetic surgeries got devloped. You were either the hottest sex appeal thing or you were a two bit actor starring as bunch of supporting characters if you were a woman. Or you starred in comedy films. The pressure was real.
@@HellecticMojo I understand that, but I'm talking about how much she had done in her 20's. Her 1989 Playboy issue she looks like a different person than she did less than 10 years later.
Stephen Bauers was also in one of the greatest skateboard movies of all time Gleaming the cube, you should definitely do an episode on that, after INVASION USA of course, plus the other greatest skateboard movie of all time Thrashin, BTW which one is the greatest skateboard movie of all time.
@@GoodBadFlicks I agree, Gleaming The Cube is a fun movie, but Thrashin is the Rocky of Skateboard movies, plus it has the greatest Skateboard Punks of all time "The Daggers". BTW since were on the subject which BMX movie is better, BMX Bandits or RAD, for me it's RAD.
