Tekton had impressed me with their warranty program. Took me 5 minutes to submit a claim with photos (still under 10 even if you have to make an account). 15 minutes later I had the tracking number of the new replacement and it showed up 3 days later. That was it. I don't know how much easier it could get.
SP ratcheting wrench is a rebrand, I have a set branded as Mastercraft here in South Africa. All made in Taiwan. Very strong wrenches. I recognized them from the selector switch and open end.
Congrats on doing so well in the competition! It’s awesome to see younger guys like yourself really caring and putting interest in their future so early. Feel free to message me about questions, schooling or anything you need in the future. 🤘🏻
I’ve had to deal with a couple tekton warranties lately same with icon. Tekton took a picture and it was at my door in 2 days. Icon I showed up at the store next day and they replaced it. I should note I broke them under not so normal conditions but I needed to get a job done.
Almost forgot about sunex.. bout 2 months ago I snapped two of my inpact torx bits.. same deal as tekton couple pictures later and about 10 minutes I was done. They showed up at my door in about 3 business days
You break something ON PURPOSE and then expect warranty service on it. That is just ridiculous. Shame for the consumers and companies of the world if they felt compelled to honor the warranty so they would not look bad in this video.
Dude you wouldn’t even have to warranty SP unless you did something crazy with it ..that thing is built tough, You sold me on it lol Those are some strong wrenches
How did you get them, I’ve been looking everywhere online, amazon, and their website, I can’t open up the wrenches tab on their catalog for some reason
@@SPTOOLSUSA where do u manufacture your hand tools? I know even the biggest names are made in Taiwan these days. Also a lot are made in China but I'd be more than happy to pay extra for Australian made but I know its virtually impossible for a company to do that and be successful. I own a lot of good tools that are made in Taiwan,Germany and a few even from Spain. Btw this is just my opinion but ive noticed that if a company brings out some really nice ratchets especially flexhead ratchets then everyone sees that company as having great tools. If SP can bring out a few really high quality ratchets that everyone wants then not only will the ratchets sell but your other hand tools will sell a lot more to. That's just my opinion on what I've seen but id like to see SP become bigger than they are
You're snap on guy is awesome. didn't even question what happened, just started looking for them right away. I've seen some snap on representatives interrogate better than the fbi
Awesome video!! SP TOOLS for the win and yeah snappy can be a hit or miss to have all types of wrenches on the truck. I really wanted that style snap on jacket but my snap on doesnt have that style due to region.
My experience is that if you pay 100% cash (no payments) on the Snap-On truck for your tools and your shop is full of them, when you really need a tool next day or same day, the driver will go out of the way to get to you.
Only non in person warranty I’ve done was Coast and Milwaukee. They got my new m12 ratchet to me in 6 days and informed me the 5 years starts over as of the delivery date. Coast had me send a picture of the light and I had a new one in 4 days. I’m 3 days in with sunex so we’ll see how that goes. They responded right away and I’m optimistic
A lot of the reason i buy tools off the truck is the guys give great service, if the reps don't, i don't buy their tools. however these online companies really have an advantage now because they are cheaper and the warranty process is just as easy. Usually the guys on the truck have what i break but other times they don't and it can take 1-2 weeks to get an item. I could call them a head of time as well. One advantage of the trucks is having a truck account with no interest... Yea i'm sure that is factored in the price. vs online you have a credit card and some companies interest rates are outrageous even if you have good credit!
I really don't even worry about the warranties anymore. It's like if I break a socket or a ratchet it's not a big deal for me to go buy another one. Most of this stuff holds up for a long time anyways. If something breaks I've made lots of money from it by that time.
I’ve never heard of SP and as much as I love Matco and Snap On I’m sold on SP tools, I’m really looking for a good impact drill for mechanic work but I’m thinking SP is what I need
I had terrible luck getting two of my pry bars warrantied over the holidays. broke two a week before Christmas. Snap on dealer came and didn’t have any in OD Green. And only had one in red. No biggie tool does the same job. Worst part about it Christmas and New Years both fell on the day my dealer comes around. Had both pry bars order in OD green. And gave him back the red one. Took a total of 4 weeks, no fault of my snap one guy. Just shitty timing for a tool to break.
Liked your review. Truth be told I dream of owning a snap on set of tools. That being said, ya got to have the money. I looked over to the SPTools web site to see about purchasing the SAE ratcheting wrench set snd possibly metric set as well. Sold out!
It’s sad a online company can warranty quicker than a truck. No Mac tool truck where you’re at? We have no Matco where I’m at. The trucks are good for USA made stuff as well as lifetimes on tools you normally don’t get lifetime warranty’s on. I.e. drill bit sets, tap and dye kits, Lang tools etc.
In all that's pretty good turn around on sp tool. I've been looking at their tools on line but was very skeptical of the warranty on line. So I guess you've busted the warranty myth for me on their hand tools so I guess I'll order a set... Cause I can't snap on to stop anymore
My matco guy hasn’t had those box end wrenches on his truck for almost a year now. So annoying and about to just cal matco. I have 2 sets of them b/c I got tired of waiting for my matco guy to get replacements. So I have about 4 of them that need fixing now.
All comes down to dealer. My matco dealer always takes care of me. Snapon dealer has taken 3mo and counting to warranty a ratchet, and it was just last week I got my mini bolt cutters warrantied. If the dealer is on credit hold, good luck getting anything. I ordered stuff so long ago, I forgot and bought it from another company and months later it come in, and well, I didn’t need it. Sorry, can’t wait who knows how long on a damn tool.
Those new snap on ratchet wrenches are suspect. When I warrantied my old ones for the new style my 15 lasted about a week and the 12 only made it a month. They are not as durable as the old style.
I had my snapOn 19mm ratcheting wrench on a nut and my m18 2863 (1400ftlb) on the bolt, and couldn’t break them free from each other. I thought my wrench was going to explode, but it was the only one I had to use at the time.. still didn’t work, had to use the blue wrench
Cool video! I'm actually in the middle of filming a similar video for 3 of the professional tool companies. However, I'm not a mechanic so I don't have the convenience of having a tool truck to warranty my tools. I'm comparing the online warranty process and let's just say I'm SHOCKED with the results. Still waiting on one company which is very disappointing; while another company blew my expectations out of the water!
Hey I work in crystal lake Illinois haha. Snap on guy comes on Friday for us. Also my grandma millie was best friends with the guy who created snap on's wife. They haven't talked in decades but I tried to get her to so I can get better deals. Fingers crossed lol
A friend of mine from an old job has had tons of trouble warrantying out matco tools. They have flat out refused to warranty ratchets and sockets and wrench’s.
dealing with matco right now and deff not fun taken already a month and they sent me a different style than i have and now im stuck with 2 different sets
Thanks man! I was actually pretty surprised at the speed and response as well. Hopefully this will help people gain more confidence in online tool purchasing with SP or like companies.
I'm screwed . My scanner got stolen when I was doing rear brakes on an Audi A four . Had a laptop set up with Delphi software, all Data , pico . All gone . Had it all in a metal brief case .
Those snap on or blue point ratchet wrenches on order are just down the road from where I work. They got metal detectors at the exits. That thumb from wrenching? Ouch!
Tool companies are like cars and women... it’s somewhat personal taste and everyone loves the one they’ve chosen for their own reasons and they will defend it passionately. From my own experience the facts are simple... I had a 3/8” snap on torque wrench and no warranty. The heavy duty repair shop division of the company I work has kicked both the snap on and Mac trucks off their routes due to garbage warranty performance. Matco has been the only one that has honoured their products without lawyer bullshit excuses. For my home stuff here in Canada mastercraft maximum is very affordable especially on sale and if it breaks they replace it immediately at the local Canadian tire no questions asked ever. My dad was a licensed auto body repair mechanic starting in 1969 and he’s been very clear that the current gen snap on is nothing compared to what it was. His box is still full of 30+ year old snap on hand tools and I’ve seen them. He’s right.
@@path3848 I fast forwarded through a lot of it as well, just happened to end up on that part where he mentioned via screen text he used a fake name. And the guy on the phone when he called him back said "Mr. Baker?" So i think its legit at the least.
As far as I’m concerned snap on has absolutely no warrantee, here’s how it goes for me. Me (calls snap on customer service) “hello I need to send this tool in for warrantee” Snap on- “do you have your receipt?” Me- “no I’ve had this tool for 8 years I don’t have the receipt for it.” Snap on- “sorry we can’t help you without a receipt
Unfair you handed that poor snapon guy got three items to warranty from abuse mind you not legit failure on top of that if would have had the common sense to call him he might have the third piece I think your channel has great content but this was a little bit lopsided
Can you recommend a professional quality set of sae wrenches from 1/4 inch to 1 1/2 inch that is not a truck brand just plain combo wrenches I'm a industrial marine mechanic
I swear by the SP Tools wrenches man. As you can see in the video, the quality of their ratchet wrenches are top in the business and I have all of their standard wrenches as well.
pat s actually it takes longer for the truck. So 3 days tool trucks if not in stock a week. Not looking too good for the trucks. However where the trucks make out is if you’re buying the USA made stuff. They also do well in offering lifetime warranty on stuff that doesn’t normally have a lifetime warranty.
These companies must love seeing these videos of people breaking their tools on purpose 🤣 do it enough maybe they will charge us even more for tools, how about Warranty some tools that actually broke during normal use instead.
Rustbelt let's talk about how we can eliminate the current flat rate system and move to a new and improved pay system that is equal beneficial to everyone involved let's talk about it it's time for change let's develop a new system.
