In this video I go over how to dial in snare compression in your DAW.
A compressor is used to even out the overall dynamic range of an audio signal. It can be used to even out the sound of an entire song, or to give more power and punch to drums.
This is a deep dive lesson for beginners, so it will be simply presented in a step by step way. All you need to know is how to use the attack and release controls to get the sound that’s in your head and stop randomly twiddling knobs and hoping to stumble upon the best sound.
