“Ang Sang Waaheguru” is the most recent track from Snatam Kaur’s Mantra and Meditation Series, released in conjunction with her new album, Nirankaar. Snatam invites practitioners to join her in chanting with this light-filled and intensely moving rendition of the mantra. The words “Ang Sang Waaheguru” mean, “In every cell and every limb and every fiber is the miracle of the Divine.” The chant bolsters our ability to tap into God’s expansive presence within, fortifying our sense of inner peace, resiliency, and self-sufficiency -each so essential in these challenging, polarized times. By connecting to the sacred, chanting “Ang Sang Waaheguru” also helps counter loneliness and cultivate courage.
The streamlined instrumentation of the Mantra and Meditation Series rendition is purposely designed to help people move beyond their minds into a quiet space and have a deep meditative experience. A more lushly orchestrated version of “Ang Sang Waaheguru” can be heard on Nirankaar. Snatam Kaur’s Mantra and Meditation Series is a collaboration with producer Ram Dass on piano and vocals, orchestral arranger Grecco Buratto on guitar and vocals, and Sukhmani on tabla, percussion, and vocals. Snatam’s Mantra and Meditation Series installments are being released weekly, with the entire album coming out in May 2022 on Be Why Music. Snatam is hosting workshops for each meditation through Kirtan and Kundalini, her online school of sacred music and yoga. This video is a recording of that workshop.
Kirtan and Kundalini is an online sacred music and yoga school co-founded by Snatam Kaur and her husband Sopurkh Singh in June 2020. Since then, the school’s mantra, tabla, harmonium, yoga, and meditation classes have grown to attract a vibrant worldwide community of practitioners. Students access live and recorded classes, workshops, and learning resources that span the Sikh Kirtan and Kundalini Yoga spectrum. Snatam and Sopurkh long-envisioned the formation of a school, and Kirtan and Kundalini has been a true labor of love, a dream fulfilled for them. Snatam personally teaches a weekly Mantra and Meditation class that often includes breath work and light yoga, along with regular Kirtan courses for people learning to play the harmonium. Sopurkh teaches Kundalini Yoga and Meditation and leads 40-day meditation practices. Additional faculty provide expert instruction in other subjects. Subscribers can also participate in forums, exchanging comments and ideas with their teachers and fellow students. The school is membership-based, with three enrollment tiers to accommodate various interests. Snatam is a world-renowned, Grammy-nominated devotional singer, touring musician, teacher, and author.
