@@MySamurai77 I feel like Policenaughts was sort of a spiritual successor. Not really a sequel since none of the original characters returned. But almost identical game play to Snatcher.
@@TheSelectGaming I hope they do re release Snatcher ( and Policenaughts) mainly for the sound. I get some bits of scratchy audio on the emulators with Snatcher, not much but it kinda sucks. Not sure if it was like that on O.G hardware or if it's bad sound emulation, so remastered sound would be an improvement over emulation.
@@MySamurai77 Yeah, emulation will do that sometimes with the sound. Sega CD stuff was surprisingly hard to emulate on my end. I feel with Konami remaking Silent Hill 2, it wouldn't surprise me if they continued to delve into their library to re-release Snatcher and Policenaughts. Would love to see those 2 games together on 1 disc.
@@TheSelectGaming They would most likely have to censor them. Especially Policenaughts. Would Steam allow a game were you can jiggle an air hostess's boobs on it's platform? In this day and age?
i am 38, been playing games for a long time and have been a Kojima fan since MGS on ps1. somehow, i never knew Snatcher existed until last week. been playing it this week and it is AMAZING. considering the time, its surprisingly modern and well written. its also very cool to play a game with Kojima DNA that you can actually see in every scene. great video, wish more people knew about this game. Maybe one day we'll get a full on remake. i would be happy with just a port.
My Brother's friend let us borrow his Sega CD in the 90s for few weeks. It was surreal, since I never saw any games that used CD medium but they never heard of this game. We ended up Playing WWIII an rts game. And Final Fight CD for a couple weeks.
Hells yeah! May tackle Tomba 1 first. Really want to shed some light on that franchise in general. One of the best 2.5D Side-Scrollers for the OG Playstation.
There's no getting around the fact that Snatcher is clearly just derivative of Blade Runner, the Terminator, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. With that said, I still enjoyed the game for what it was.
That's an interesting thought, I do wonder about that too sometimes. However, I think Konami in general is a very different Konami from years ago and they may be just hesitant to release any games in general. The MGS3 and Silent Hill 2 re-makes are promising and I hope that they get some good results from those releases. Maybe it'll put them back on their feet and allow them to browse through their catalog and re-release or remake other titles like Snatcher 👏
I am going to play this for the first time via emulation on my Anbernic device. I have yet to see a bad review of Snatcher. And yes, I'm going to play the Sega CD version, the only official US translation of the title.
