I was at a medical conference a dozen years ago in Utah, and one of the breakout sessions was to go out to some side stashes at Snowbird and dig snow pits to do avalanche forecasting. Someone asked one of the guys there, "Weren't you at Alpine?", and he said something like yes, that was a really bad time. I randomly tuned in to Netflix last night and remembered the guy's face. He was a ski patroller there during that. And thirty years later, he was still skiing and passing on the knowledge.
My parents were living in that area during those years. Between this, and the Squaw Valley tram disaster a few years prior, it seemed like dark days. Very much look forward to this film.
Wow. That put chills down my spine, literally. Having been an Alpine employee at that time and known Anna Conrad and the others, this really hits home.
Had to turn it off after 10 minutes, wanted to see more but the goober who did the sound editing had the music so loud you could barely hear the commentary and interviews.
Whoever edited the film needs firing. You can't hear what the men are saying because the music so LOUD! It's really annoying. I'm 12 minutes in and they keep playing different tracks of music louder than the men talking. It's hard to know what they're saying 🤦🏻♀️
