Skippy .Bob she reminds me of a girlfriend I used to be with - she was the coolest most calm person.. she would take ecstasy and go out to party.. I have the feeling all cool calm people take drugs.. 🤷🏼♂️
@@starwalker.odessa cher's believe had autotune and was recorded in 1997. but here this song was pitched up to a higher key so she could sing it easier
Am I the only one that likes her look here more than in the official video? That hair, cute Japanese pop/bad girl vibe, that eye contact and the way her lips move as she sings...damn it all just adds up to something hypnotic and magical. Kelli makes my heart race as much as she would have if I had seen this in my 20s back in 1997. This version sounds better to me too.
That recording is immaculate. There was a very expensive mic on hand, and a producer who got a singular performance of her. Her voice is like warm honey on that track.
You had to write a song in the 90s. I think people can still do it but people who are in charge of making things popular are less adventurous than in the past
She was the singer from Lumieres and the Sneaker Pimps brought her in to take advantage of the 90's trip hop wave then canned her. I think it was mostly ego, she was getting the attention. Their later stuff was ok but not great like this.
+mamaburr Yeah, I just watched the video for "Low Five" and that guy may be a good musician, but his vocals are akin to watching paint dry. Now wonder they disappeared. I mean I get that it was something they originally begun without her, but they should have tried to make it work, but I guess they didn't get along very well on tour.
+mamaburr I can. If that attractive chick wasn't part of your original line-up, do not be surprised if you become forgotten the second you kick her out.
Sneaker Pimps is by far the most underrated band of all time. Even their other two albums that no one even knows exists are great too. Chris Corner took over for the vocals, and he’s honestly just as talented as Kelli. I do miss Kelli’s sweet angelic voice though. I love Kelli AND Chris, they’re both very talented musicians.
They're awesome. I started listening to them and I had no idea the singer was from Sneaker Pimps. Once I did I started listening to all of the Sneaker Pimps songs. Before IAMX, I had only heard 6 Underground.
I struggle to understand how they got rid of her, she put them on the map it’s insanely difficult to find someone who has a unique voice that compliments and create a vibe of the songs you write and is willing to join your band. It’s a bands dream come true. What the hell were the thinking? Why wouldn’t they be happy that the songs they write were getting attention? Damn fools.
If you hire an attractive person with a distinctive voice to spike sales of your band's albums, do NOT be surprised if that spike dwindles when you revert to your original, unpopular line-up. But at least you'll know the remainder are your true fans. And that will comfort you as you apply for food stamps.
How do you do an interview without the lead singer? Not surprised these two felt threatened by her popularity and had to get rid of her. Wishing her the best.
I love to look at this band..All of them are peaking and they don't realize this is the best part of their life..Kelli is beautiful and great and the boys are styling and sharp at this time the world is great...
No makeup, crazy teeth, mad hair, heavy eyelids, oozing quiet confidence and the coolest dress on earth -- and she can sing. I melt at thee. Who are those other numties?
She's captivating, right? Been binge-watching this archived clip for over a year. Goes good with beer and whatnot. Kelli was magick. A beautiful moment caught here to relive.
@@ertsekpal7579 you are stupid...see how that works now? Shit maybe I'm stupid? I was definitely wrong once but then realized I wrong about being wrong
Just revisited this video. Her voice, her eyes, her stare, her lips, her facial expressions - SOOOOOOOOOOOO DAMNED SEXY!!!!!!!!!!!! OVERWHELMING! SHE HAS "IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"The band itself could be cartoon characters or not shown at all. She is that dominating.
I just discovered the Sneaker Pimps and Kelli a few weeks ago. I have been obsessed ever since. SHE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She has a killer voice and star quality - the IT FACTOR that is so rare. She has such a powerful sexuality that I can't think straight when I watch her perform. These dweeb guys are nothing and getting rid of her was about the most stupid career thing they could have done!!!!! And not to have her sit down after her performance and chat with the show host is over the top rude and beyond explanation. Incredible!!!!! Kelli you are a star. Period.
You are a moron that totally misses the point that I'm admiring her look and talent in the FUCKING VIDEO. I am not commenting on what she may look like now. So grow a brain and fuck off. Idiot.
Jarrod Adams Raw sex appeal that comes across not oozing with sleeze but, rather, as undeniably sensual and profoundly hypnotic. I'm brand new to her too. Gonna check out her solo stuff and other live performances just as soon as the wacky weed man comes through.
this is really interesting and illuminating about the particular band and the times as well. it was a more interesting time musically than i remember cuz i was so young and this band and prodigy made so much intuitive sense to me i never really realized how different they were - and quite popular in general and especially considering the state of things at the time. very awesome upload.
Thanks very much for this upload, ShitifoundonVHS. I'm a huge Kelli Ali fan and this may easily be the best version of 6 Underground that I've seen on RU-vid. Great quality, great sound and video, and superb performance by Kelli and the Pimps. Awesome.
It's been more than 20 years since this band came out I think. And I am only now beginning to discover and appreciate it along with this extremely talented and beautiful woman. She is absolutely mesmerizing. I think the reason why the others let her go was possibly being afraid of or foreseeing what happened to similar groups like Blondie which were very popular but only for a short time. These women take complete attention away from male band members to the point of the later becoming drone-like. It might have been the right move although I don't care for them without Kelly.
She is one of the only artists who could sing better live than in the studio, they were a talent when they were all together.. shame they went different ways.
that's the main dude in the band, very creepy, every interview the way he speeks, looks makes me unconfortable, I would not like to be around him.. tipical aritst wannabe with no taste.. ow he took on vocals later on and you all know what happened..
@@McWorf Hmm I just watched IAMX Stardust video clip, musically I do not judge, cause everybody has own taste, but yeah.. not only he has his own style issues but also gender issues.. now I know why I always felt uncomfortable looking at him/her.
@@3blaha3 Interesting analysis. So because someone has an androgynous sense of style, that automatically means they also suffer from gender dysphoria? If that was your attempt at trying to insult him, you need to try harder
Kelli Dayton rocks! She made Sneaker Pimps a hit! Too bad she left the band after only one album. Chris couldn't handle vocals and the Sneaker Pimps faded from glory after that. I remember the buzz when "Six Underground" first got airplay in 1996. Man, they were so good! Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.
Way better than IAMX. Kelli’s such a talented vocalist and writer. The songs from Becoming X are way more musical and memorable than anything Chris Corner has written since.
I've been a fan of Sneaker Pimps' 90s material for many years, but I've never really bothered to look for live performances or interviews. This was so enlightening. Perhaps it was the culture or the format of the show, but I thoroughly enjoyed the casual and relaxed atmosphere of the interview as well as the responses from the band. Where was Kelly in the interview portion though?
