Sneaking Into Roosevelt Island with Julian Lewis

When the Etnies team and their newest rider Julian Lewis, came to town, we figured why not test our luck and see if we can send them to Roosevelt Island (a random sliver of land known for high security) to get a clip or two. They came back with two NBDs and a little extra something for their troubles.

I went once to contest a trespassing ticket in hopes the “arresting” officer wouldn’t show, the cop brought a witness, and when the judge realized this was over skateboarding he immediately stopped proceedings and I ended up with a summer of 7am community service.

The island is basically like a gated community or something they’re kinda snobby but this specific part of the island is a presidential memorial park and they’re especially strict on security, it’s open to the public most days but they will confiscate your skateboard if you walk in with one cause they’re aware it’s a spot

you can either pay a fine or dispute it in court typically. it goes on your record in any circumstance though

Why does the cop HAVE to give them tickets? Why not just make them leave? He would still be doing his job by stopping the law breaking. The tickets are unnecessary. These dudes are "just doing their job" as well.

When you give officers the discretion to enforce the law, they tend to give tickets to generate the revenue that keeps them employed.
