+James Repenning I still have a working 26-year old SNES with a couple of games (yes, ofcourse this one too!). My older brothers and sister used to play on it a lot and played with me too as soon as I was old enough. We just wanted to play again today but unfortunately we lost a cable. Me oldest brother ordered a new one on Amazon.
I really love this game back in the days. I used to play this with my cousin. We never really finished the game because it's so hard in the later levels. It's a masterpiece game deserve a remake or remaster.
Or, do a really polished version of the Doom mod that uses all the art from this game. A full finished version of that would be amazing because it actually looks like the original game but in first person, right down to using most of the original sprite assets, and it just feels really great to actually play.

I remember when I was little, my uncle bought me the SNES, and the games super mario world and this. Was the first 2 video-games I ever played, and then my life as a gamer started :') So many memories! I never could get past level 20. Would run out of ammo before killing them worms! I really hated the dudes with the chainsaws, those jelly spiders, and the FREAKIN SCREAMING KIDS WITH THE AXES!!!! I swear those little guys gave me nightmares lmao
The pyramid levels were my favorite when I played this game. Very atmospheric-the mummies emerging from their tombs, the walls springing up behind you, etc. Plus the pyramid soundtrack is, in my opinion, the best in the game.
Something iv learned about this game, was that the first 6-7 levels were to prepare you for the rest of the game. Gave you a bunch of resources, a lot of which you wont need until much further levels. But the more you go on into the game, the less overall essentials you will find. I remember having difficulty finding waterguns at a certain point of the game.
Why do people keep comparing Dark Souls to old harder games, when these old games were built difficult in mind to get the most replay out of them as they were usually pretty short? These old games weren't bloated, and didn't overstay their welcome, so developers had to make them harder in order for you to get your money's worth.
Still one of the toughest final bosses I've ever faced in gaming. Sandbagging your items and saving the good stuff like potions and artefacts until the final boss like in this video is the only way I ever beat him too. Awesome game, even if the lack of a save system is infuriating!
@Geisty Cat I think the reason they didn't have a save was due to limitations and they said in the developer commentary that they wanted it to be like an arcade game. The game isn't as hard as it seems as well. If you figure out the secrets to it you can easily best it. Bosses too. For instance, Dr.Tongue is easily killable especially with plates. And you can use 1 Monster Potion and get him stuff in the bottom left corner of the level and just sit there til he dies as long as the potion Doesn't glitch out making you have to walk to punch.
My favorite game of Super Nintendo! I used to play it when I was around 8 years old and I could never finish it. It was so hard... I got until level 36 because I remember very well that big spider that I could never beat. I still have my Snes and it works after more than 20 years, I am 28 now and a couple of months ago I could get this game again! And now, I can finally say that I finished the game!! So proud of myself. haha
Man this game brings me back to when gaming was actually more of a hobby than a lifestyle. So much Buzz Cola, calling the 1800 tip number, and seeing the sun come up.
Wow so nostalgic! It’s been like 20years since we played this with my sisters screaming like crazy 😂🤣 We couldn’t finish it though. We were only until Level 11!
Oh my gosh WHAT A GAME! Although i did have friends, the nights alone playing this game were the best, late at night, mum asleep and none the wiser that I was staying up most of the night playing this!! LOL
god man, my cousin and i, we played this game every day for about 8 years, and we could never get past level 46, we would sit there and play it through day after day, fuckin amazing memories
Wow! I remember playing this game when I was a kid!!! It brings back so many good memories! Me and my sister used to play this all the time!! They don't make games like this anymore! The music was the best lol
Man, I forgot all about this game. Back in the day, I used to play this and other NHES games with my Bros, and we had a blast. Funny how the simpler things can bring such happiness. It's the people who share it with you that makes all the difference in the world.
Your level of expertise in this game is off the charts... Thank you for posting a playthrough of this cult classic video game. ⭐️🙌🏻🎮 💯 (I had no idea the sand dragons are weak against the dinner plates... 🙅🏻♂️🍽🐉)
thanks for this walk through. i just got the game for my sega and didnt realize all the cool hidden stuff. i dont know how many times i walked past the flamethrower and didnt realize it was there!
One of my top favorite SNES games. A multiplayer rogue-like remake of it would be amazing. Same graphics, more characters, more weapons and instead of levels you just go from 'biome' to biome competing and/or cooperating with other players to save as many victims as you can and fighting the occasional boss, like the giant baby and Dr. Tongue's monsters.
mano que sdds desse jogo, tava pesquisando "snes station gameplay" aí do nada eu acho a gameplay desse jogo, lembro que joguei muito esse jogo,até consegui zerar
At last I was able to see the ending, thank you. I smiled when I saw the Purple Tentacle from "Day of the Tentacle" (another of my favorite games) doing a cameo here. :D
I love this game, but if we didn't have a walkthrough and save states, I would never be able to beat it... When I was a kid I made it to around level 23ish. That's without a walkthrough and on a real console. So many of the rescues just come down to blind luck. Even you lost two victims in level 14 there. The only reason I didn't was because I had save states to try over and over. And the tourists turning into werewolves.... Some of them are down to the second. If you didn't get the speed shoes in level 4, you don't stand a chance of saving all four tourists in level 7. And Even then it's down to the second if you want to save them. I had so much trouble with those stupid worms in level 20 as a kid. How was I supposed to know to hit the damn things in the mouth and not the gigantic body... Wasted all my ammo just killing one, maybe two. Let's not forget about the stupid giant baby. You're supposed to stand next to the corner of the building, wait for the baby to trap itself, turn into a monster and punch it to death.... I read some BS about using soda cans. 60 hits and it still didn't die...
I beated the game without save states on an actual Super NES, but yes, it´s hard as hell. I lost the game MANY times before beating it, the good thing is that once you beat the game for the first time, you have enough experience to finish it form level 1 to level 48 without using passwords. By the way, congrats for beating the game.
One of my favorite games. You' ve got great music; a ton of weapons; many different enemies types, each with it' s own weakness; a sense of humor; secrets - it' s perfect. Also: RickyC is really good at this.
Level 4 was fun and had me on the edge of my seat ! The soundtrack is awesome and sound affects are on point ! Great game overall .... Does anybody know where I can stream it !??
Its like being a fit young warrior and then letting yourself go, and developing a big gut and wheezing when you run. Gotta keep your gaming skills sharp. Gotta exercise.
I was never able to beat it. It's the only game that has haunted at me because I left it unfinished. I was never able to kill the giant purple spider that keep me from the only cheerleader I had to save.
I remember playing this at age of 5 & 6.. btw i was born in 91.. so the game was already old by the time i played it. it was my uncles game & i remember playing it & could'nt sleep after but i loved to play it. just the thought of a water gun killing a zombie had me hooked lol
I’m not a 90’s kid, but I do remember playing this on my dad’s sega genesis. It was my favorite game back then, I sucked so bad at it but it was fun, I really regret selling it.
I love the many secret bonuses that are implemented in the game, including in the first stage many players overlook in the bush at 0:52 - I also did not know the alien ship could be destroyed or throwing the football to the players was possible. I hope to play again and finally complete all 48 levels.
man the good ol days I remember waking up on the weekends to watch monster ranch and play dis shit all day with my mom n she was obsessed with this game
Great walkthrough! The best I ever did was make it to the last level...but then Dracula killed me. BTW - At the beginning of level 7, I used the running shoes to save those two sets of guys before they turned into werewolves (so you would end up saving all 10 instead of 8 neighbors). Once you lose one of them, it's a pain in the ass to get them back later on...
Volf Khat Yes, the neighbors. You're right, once eaten, they're gone. But if you play well enough or something, later on you can gain a "bonus" neighbor. It's better to just avoid losing them altogether (hence why I mentioned the running shoes). And you're right about the silverware - took me years before I caught that! I used to use the cross and pandora's box on them before, but then ended up with so much leftover silverware (didn't know what else to use them aside from zombies haha).
i didnt like it too much. cus some levels were too DAMN difficult for me and i ended up losing over and over again. and its kinda scary when the chainsaw guys chase you lol.
Man, this was one awesome homage to the Universal Monster craze and 1950's B-movies. This game always had this suburban, Graves-era Misfits kind of vibe that was well known throughout the 90's. I wonder why such settings aren't seen that much nowadays? The most recent example of that kind of media I know of is ParaNorman...
man this video bring me some good memories about this game... my favorite game of all time I got to level 46 but that big head always kill me my favorite monster was the guys with chainsaws hopefully the remake this game
