LOVE the music from this game. Got it for my 11th birthday...couldn't beat Wolverine's 2nd stage for the life of me. This video has inspired me to go back and avenge my inability to beat this game!
You know what's scary. I'm in quarantine in a foreign nation now for 6 days/5 nights in a designated place. I decided to use my Raspberry Pi with emulators. Wanted to play MegaMan X for old times sake and reached the Sigma stages. Took a break and slept. The next day I wanted to play some Arcade's Revenge because as a kid I could never beat it. And as I was looking to walkthroughs for help again the second Wolverine stage, I come across your comment. I agree with you, but I'm fucking shocked at the coincidence.
Not as bad as many people make it out to be. Brings some very good memories, especially the music. I even recorded some of the tracks back in the day by placing a tape recorder next to the TV.
When I first saw THIS in my faves section, the first thing I thought was, "You gotta be kidding!" I swear, I was never able to finish even three stages of this one...
*I remember wayy back in '96 & my older brothers had brought a SNES (they could have brought a N64 but chose not to) & they only brought 2 games with the SNES: DKC3 & this game so basically this is the 1st game I played for SNES! We Never beat it! Hell, we never even beat anything past the 1st level with spider man but we kept playing it tho. Seeing you play it made realize how bad this game was but the music was superb! that's the only redeeming quality imo!!!!!*
This game is so strange and surreal visually. Like the designers were tripping and were in dont-give-a-f mode just throw it in there. I like it for that, at least just to watch.
I enjoy playing this game on Super Nintendo in the 90's when I was a little kid I never bet it all I do play around on level 1 and listen to the background music
I am 36 years old, I got a supernintendo and guess what, i bought this game and i get to finish, thanks for your video, IT is helping me, when i was 9 could never end it, Well, IT is my revange time 🤜🤛
Storm's sections of the game are very strange. The proportions of her body are off between her swimming levels and her section at the end where you control her on foot.
You see this and then compare it to either the Genesis X-men games or “X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse” (which came out exactly 2 years after this) and it’s night and day! But this was published by LJN, so it’s kind of to be expected.
SO SAD this was the only X-Men game on SNES for awhile. Also, that opening cinematic is ripped almost directly from Uncanny X-Men #123, where Arcade DOES kidnap the X-Men.
Even though this game was hard as hell and kind of mediocre I still enjoyed this game for what it was and the music is some of the best I heard from an snes game
Spider-Mans Stage Music Ya Gotta Love it 3:55 Has The Best Part To its Music Arrive in At That Point And Probably the Most Litty Track Throughout the whole entire Game lol I remember loving This Game No Matter How Hard it was To Beat Just Hearing That 1st Stage Track Gave Me Life As A Kid i Use To Humm That Beat Over And Over iT Was Always Stuck in My Head Right From 3:55 Til 4:30 Then From 4:37 Til 4:42 Was A Nice End of Stage Theme Track Song Before Next Character Play Who else Agrees And Hitting That 3:55 Just To Hear The Part Of The Music To Stage 1 lol 🤣🤦🏿♂️😂 And Ok 4:42 All The Way Til 5:20
For anyone who struggles with Juggernaut: He has 32 health. Anvils cause 6 damage, weights 2 but only when they drop onto him, not when he runs into them. He does NOT take damage from claws until u reach the final pillar where u can get about 10 stabs on him atleast. The claws do however debuff slow on him. The guy in the vid does this really well when slashing the walls and tapping juggernaut to slow him. Once u know this hes much easier. You can cause a lot of damage to him at the start, run through the majority of the stage then just kill him at the end. Hope it helps!
The SNES was the base version every other one sprang from, that’s why. Which I would say is unusual for most Western devs at that time. It was usually the other way around. Especially with Pitfall and the Disney games not made by Capcom.
Am I the only one who could beat this game?? It took almost 25 years, but I made it, without save states and in my original Sega Genesis. I gotta try this Snes version.
The music gave the game a desolate air, most of the stages where in a maze layout (which bores the hell out of me), I never beat the juggernaught because there was no clear objective, the artwork is unappealing patch work. Playing this game somehow induced feelings of isolation and depression.
Stage 3 Wolverine vs Juggernaut Was Hella crazy.......Stage 4 Cyclops Literally Destroys Enemy By Kicking Him in the Back of His Ass 14:39 🤣😂🤣........... 51:33 SpiderMan Shoots The Skin off of Venom 🤣🤦🏿♂️🤣 Dying Laughing Venoms Response To Him Losing His Skin And Left Ass Naked Woooooooahhhhhhhh!!!!🤣🤦🏿♂️🤣
Fun Fact: LJN pressured software creations while making this game with some threats of litigation and they were constantly screaming at the dev team to see the game through.
For how difficult the rest of the game was, you should've been able to skip the first intro level with Spidey. Or have it as a separate "training/practice mode" or something. It wouldn't have made the game better, but it would have made it far less annoying to try to play.
Honestly, I think in that last part, Wolverine should have been the character you play as since Spider-Man has a projectile attack and Wolverine doesn’t. I’m not sure Wolverine adds much in that section.
I was NOT expecting Carnage to go out the way he did. These are supposed to be robotic doppelgängers of marvel villains. Did Arcade somehow enlist the real deal?
Oh no Wolverine! Don't get hit by that clown's pie...not sure if your healing powers will let you recover from that one. 🤦🤦🤦You want a good X Man game from this Era look up Mutant Apocalypse. Capcom did it right.
I feel like a dumbass. Because as a kid whenever I played this I could never figure out how to beat Juggernaut. Juggy always killed when I reached the end of the level cause it was a dead end.
This is so nostalgic. I had to look this up for the boss at 11:00 being defeated. I think that was the most annoying thing ever. I tried st least 100x and could never defeat him. If I remember right you were getting close to the end where if he's still alive you'll die no matter what you do. Geez he took a ton of hits. Literally! 🤣
I don't say thank you to the bad tester from console+ magazine who rated it 17/20 on super famicom, making me lose all my child money. This game was horrible, hard and the characters had been added while the game had been created with others. Mario 2 usa/doki doki panic syndrome. A nightmare with disco melancolic music...
I rented this pile of dog-s**t back in the '90s for the genesis. That games fkn sucks, big time. The controls are horrible and the stages are hard asf with some random bs that outright kills you.
