The only thing I think is missing from this mission is having the US soldiers fight. I think having some friendly AI soldiers who actually fight the Germans could’ve made the battle feel more realistic and add some more opposition to the invading player in invasion mode on this map. I think sniper elite 4 had friendly AI soldiers where in some maps, Italian partisans fight the German soldiers.
@@JohnJohn-pe5kr US soldiers fighting the Germans would put them on high alert but it could also be used as a distraction for the player to slip by. Maybe just the group of rangers who came with Karl on the glider since the main allied fighting force hasn’t arrived yet. The rangers are already on the map but they don’t fight; they stand around at the begging part of the map to tell Karl, aka the player, what objectives to take care of.
@@beatsoup9919 also it suggests that D-Day was on June 11th when it was June 6th I still like the the game but as a WW2 buff having the invasion of Normandy on the wrong date bugs me but maybe the allies in the game were waiting until Karl takes out German defenses.
Fun fact: the mission to take and protect the bridge was codenamed “operation Pegasus” and carried by paratroopers in 3 gliders, they managed to complete the mission. P.S. the code name for operation Pegasus success was Ham & Jam, funnily enough when they broadcast the code nobody answered since they thought it was a troll call. But after some time it was recognized
Also, when reinforcements came, it was under bombardement but 1 soldier kept playing the bagpipe. Later on 2 captured snipers, when asked why they did not sh00t him was because they tought he was crazy.
They were not Paratroopers, and had never trained as paratroopers they were airlanding troops from D Coy plus 2 Plattons from B Coy of the 2nd Battalion Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry. They were carried in 6 gliders, 3 of which landed away from the bridge.
this game is ahistorical. When the Germans built La Coupole in this timeline, I don't think you need to worry about what time the airborne dropped in this game lol
The gameplay almost looks like Mercenaries 2, from the XB360. It looks, alittle off for what it should be from being on a Next-Gen. Does anyone else notice that or am I just seeing stuff?
Nope, your right on the nail there. This looks very lazy made, Andis missing several immersive elements ( Niagara, background ambient noise, a.i. 8s bad, shadow casts are not properly edged as crisp where they should be soft edged, many things here are lax
well there's nothing stealthy about invading France tbh but in any case it's very hard to be stealthy without the video being 5 hours long, as guns even with the silencers i have can be heard by everyone in the area.
I realize this isn't meant to be the most realistic depiction of combat, but some of these historical mistakes were just so big and so easily avoided- 1. The paratroopers landed under the cover of darkness. The planes and gliders had dropped off all of the soldiers well before the landings started. Why wasn't this mission just portrayed as either being at night? Or you could portray it during the day time and just leave off the cutscene that shows the planes landing simultaneously to the beach landings. 2. US combat units were not integrated during WWII. Especially the rangers. What is the point of trying to change history to hide racism? 3. There were no folding stock, suppressed Thompsons in 1944. There, were, however, multiple other SMGs with those features readily available that the allies had access to. Why not just use the correct gun? I have similar complaints with the M1 Carbine, but at least there were no easily available alternatives at that time, so you can at least justify making it up to serve the gameplay you wanted the game to have. Also just had to laugh at the beginning where there are three soldiers spaced at perfect intervals to give you one sentence expository dialogue. Why on Earth would they just be standing there like cardboard cutouts, by themselves, doing nothing. And was it really necessary for the character to narrate every option for the player? Isn't part of the fun figuring out for yourself where the best vantage points are and what the best strategy is? I also think it would have been cool if the windmill was still working. It would create an extra challenge as you would have to be aware of the timing of the blades.
"historical mistakes" yeah, Operation Kraken and the myriad of bunker complexes in Greece, North Africa and France never existed either. Nor was Hitler killed several times over.
Whats missing is any background conflict noise. There's supposed to be battles going on...and yet its as peaceful as a picnic. Also, the German soldiers are just asleep on their feet. Not really alert to the invasion happening around them.
Yeah this too me looks worse than se4 and the lack of some immersive elements to me look like lazy development. Background ambints are ALWAYS one of the first things to consider, what mood are you layering? What suspense points could be getter with what music or backdrop. Nothing here
Didn't the paratroopers (called Pathfinders) drop in France on the night of 5th June 1944. I love the Sniper Elite games but this is too much as they have shown gliders landing in daytime. Even the woke COD Vanguard showed the paratroopers landing in night before the D-Day landings of June 6th 1944
The pathfinders were an elite group of men apart of the paratroopers of volunteers. Not all the paratroopers were called pathfinders. The pathfinders’ job was to set up beacons to guide in the main airborne assault to the correct drop zones.
One small historical inaccuracy is that the 5th Ranger Battalion did not land in Normandy via glider, they landed at Omaha Beach, and made inland from there, Karl should've been with paratroopers in the glider.
Yup, the older games did a better job of communicating to the player that this is stuff that really happened. Modern WW2 games just want to look like Saving Private Ryan on the surface while glossing over everything that made that movie more than just visually realistic. They basically turn the war into a prime time action TV show where everyone talks like they were born in the year 2000 instead of 1920.
admittedly the "massive bunker complex" thing is getting kinda stale. However, if they stick with the chronology, we can only expect even more bunker base complexes from Sniper Elite 6: Germany 😅😅
Where have you been? SE3-4 is just the same and nothing new at all but no one's complaining and now you're shitting on it even this game has new game modes, bigger maps, bullet wounds, ziplines, hiding on enemy's truck, panthers, new cutscenes, and ability to go non lethal and what's new in SE3-4? Nothing
I really hate this on ww2 games 1:00. I hate the fucking inclusion just to make ww2 look pretty. The army at the time was segregated which means no white and black soldier fought along side each other. Also I wished the main guy was geared up.
They did the game wrong Paratroopers landed in the middle of the night like 5 hours before main landings in Normandy. Also Rangers didn't drop from planes
0:03 hmm Lancaster bombers flying alongside C-47s towing Waco gliders; i’m not sure if I missed something from the D-Day photos to know that had happened.
you might also want to take a look at the battleships down on the sea; there's something like 20+ NELSON CLASS battleship (easy to see with the three turret in front of the Citadel) ... Only 2 of thoses were ever built.
The fact that the paratroopers and gliders are going in during the day while the invasion is already going on below them is also inaccurate: in real life they were sent in during the early morning, way before the beach landings took place, in order to secure key towns and bridges, as well as disable enemy artillery and other defensive installations to make the beach landings and the subsequent push inland easier
Unfortunately there were no integrated airborne units, including rangers, during the airborne invasion of Normandy. But game developers and movie makers just rewrite history as they see fit.
Nah this gameplay was more action package not classic sniper elite where you should conserves ammo decide when to kill, hiding, stealth, mask the gun sound.in sniper elite ps 2 when you outgunned you sure gonna be dead
Have they messed up in this cutscene i see like 3 or 4 "Nelson" class battleships when their was only Rodney and Nelson built?..seems someones not done their homework XD
because it's a trope of plutocrat propaganda, other tropes include every german is nasty, allied soldiers save civilians from being shot and hitler frowning 24/7
I often wonder why Americans In general feel the need to plaster their flag on everything they wear but then I don't live there so it not really that big a deal for meL... same with nazi Germany ;)
@@AFGuidesHD Plan it? They executed the plan sinking 100,000s of ton of shipping off the US Eastern seaboard. The slaughter was allowed to continue because Admiral King refused to listen to advice and lessons from history condemning 1000s of US mercantile marine seamen to death.
@@AFGuidesHD yeah but having a sinister secret plan is an artistic liberty the devs took to serve an exciting plot. Deciding to have the airborne invasion take place in broad daylight has no purpose other than either being plain lazy or not caring about the subject matter.
Would it have killed them to set this game in the Pacific or the Eastern European front? Why do we need another game about the same guy sniping the same Nazis?
According to this opening, the airborne operation took place during day time when in reality it was done during the cover of darkness....it might not seem like a big deal but that is how actual history gets erased..young people playing games have no clue about it and from than moment on that's all they know.
If that were the case, you would have teacher's assigning video games like Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty as required reading, instead of accurately sourced textbooks written by historical scholars.
@@ponteaugarou So is ok,according to you,to distort history in any way possible because only history books contain the truth, young minds are not easily impressed by video games and such??...in a country like US where a big % of high school "graduates" can't even point to the US in a world map,is OK to just portray history as anyone wishes?
Wow nice message some one hunting the hacker hacking original word from the ordinary coz he lost his cellphone with sim and fb name on it .......even games can send secret message ...broadcaster will be hacked and tap as they want ..oh no ..there's go johnny
can it be i didn't see any stupid spr bunkers yay finally there are too many boats tho they only sent like 7 per sector and only like 2 -3 lca's for the first wave per secotor i think 2 lca's in dog green pals buddys (:(:
@af guides What about the landings at Anzio? That was secret and caught the Germans off guard, but they mobilized faster than the Allie’s could advance and the Luftwaffe pinned them down on the beachhead.
@@steelcommanders2463 If a game advertises as historically accurate, and it isn't, then people have a right to bitch, as it is false advertising. But if they don't, then yea, ppl need to chill
@@Voidrings116 Never. I'm not claiming this game-nor any in the series-claim to be historically accurate. But games like CoD WWII and BFV that claimed to be historically accurate, and then weren't, deserved the piss taken out of them. This one, not so much, because we all know what we are here for and it's not historical accuracy
yeah that would be a waste of time and money, hopefully rebellion know this already and just stick to making average WW2 TPS games that everyone loves.
I mean, since when did a game that's become famous for being able to snipe Hitler in the balls claim to be historical apart from being set in ww2? At least they actually tried to get most things correct.
I hate those history nerds that complained that this game is historically inaccurate. Because it is, and it was NEVER meant to be THAT realistic! I mean shooting Hitler many times in the series is inaccurate, and not "realistic" in you guy's terms...
I mean, you have an almost finished Ratte, a modified fliegerfaust that worked like a fucking mini nuke instead of an anti air launcher, some super weapon that was like a nuke to stop the invasion of France, now the U-boat stealth fleet, also counting the endless Hitler body doubles, I have no idea why some people thinks the games are supposed to be accurate or realistic, when they have literal prototypes of weapons/vehicles actually working or in development in the games
