i metal detect. what people need to understand about people like us is we enjoy the hunt! finding something is just an added bonus.the fresh air, seeing new things, and letting your imagination run wild when trying to figure out who handled this last, and the story behind what you found. it doesn't get any better does it?

I live in Southwestern NH around the city of Keene. In the area it's known the Ashuelot River has some decent deposits thanks to the glaciers...well I pan in a special spot for fun where I find a few flakes, some flour gold of course but never anything huge to write home about...until 2017. I know it's nothing special but found my biggest picker ever at .39 grams ( I tell everyone .4 haha )! Got that baby on display in my coin case! That size is almost unheard of around here, but they're out there...anyways, that's my victory story!

I love this! This type of bedrock & quartz stringers & seams are one of the things I love about living in an alluvial valley. I'm a bit closer to good lode gold sources, so the gold looks a little different, but it's great fun! I'm thoroughly enjoying this series! Can't wait for the next one 💥🤞

Amazing! To find the gold just sitting there on top of the bedrock! I do some panning when I can in North Georgia near the Loud Mine. The creek is very nice and you get to find all kinds of minerals too like emeralds. It's beautiful and very fun. Can't wait for your Georgia episode!

Beatlejuice/covered bridge. I love N.H. One of my favorite states. Aries wimped out. Must not have been feeling well. The covered bridge is a nice New England touch/ Always interesting ~rad~

That's Big Eddy. We used to swim there every summer. Great trout fishing too. Further downstream there was a Little Eddy that we swam in too.

Great vid! I love that you have prospected in New Hampshire and Maine. I live in Southern Maine and gold is almost non existent here. Just lots of misleading gold colored mica and garnets... but once you get to the north side of the mountains prospecting gets better.

@@leenfield I used the prospecting mode with my Nox 800. Got a signal, shoveled it out of the hole and it's still sitting in the pan. I haven't checked it. I was above the waterfall actually. Klesh was below where it is posted by the Roy Family.

You should definitely do some Lake Superior agate hunting here in Minnesota when you end up coming here! Gravel pit owners won’t let anybody in for the most part but if you time it right you could check out a highway when they tear it up

Oh man those quartz seams were wild, I'll admit as I was watching you fluff about on that stone I couldn't help but eyeball my rock hammer here a moment or two thinking it's thirsty for that quartz seam. Love that old covered wooded bridge, there aren't too many of those anymore. Man do they have a vibe to them. I hope you got some sweet pictures of you both in them. Shane that spot looks like it begs for a return later in the year when the water is lower and the sun shines. It needs a solid day of Klesh time. And Aries would probibly come out of the vehicle if the sun was out and that cursed white stuff wasn't about...Nope I don't miss that snow stuff yet my self. Watching your old vids Klesh, I see a lot of yourself in me (much younger than you lol). Nothing resonates with me more than the unanimous hate for the E-tool. I was in the 82nd, I am now at Fort Carson and I stopped using my issued gear for prospecting and traded in for a solid shovel from Home Depot. Best move that I have made as an amateur gold prospector.

You need to come here during the summer months when the river is almost dry (well maybe not this year as it won't stop raining here in NH, haha) So many people along that river with their sluice boxes and panning. I know those roads well. :)

You should come back and try it again after the floods this year. It turned up a lot of gold. Vermont and New Hampshire River all got turned over. I found 2 half gram nuggets Can't wait till spring this year. Going highbanker

That was disappointing Shane, so much of your gold turning into mica. The mineralised quartz vein running thru the bedrock was very interesting. Maybe you should've grabbed a chunk, crushed it and seen what was in it. Would've been good to know. I think that's one place I'd love to visit in the summer as it is very beautiful and wild looking and there must be some significant deposits on that river ......... somewhere. Cool vid mate, loved it :)

Thare is a old mine in West Virginia called the gauntly mine and theres lots of rivers (i recommend going to the rivers that lead to summersvill lake

I made a special "Gas powered portable bucket vacuum" specifically for projects like this a few years ago. I'm thinking the mica gets tainted by the iron content in the water which is why you might have thought you found flour or flake gold? Proof is on the boat bottoms here in NH... Otherwise, you guys deserve a big round of kudo's for educating us greenhorns.

I wonder if there is gold in the rivers here in Iceland. Issue is, all the sand is black... I heard stories of up to 400g of gold perk ton of rock.

@@Klesh That's a hard one to answer. I'd probably just grab a gold pan and sample each river. What would be the best choice? Geologically older or younger areas? I took a hand full of black sand out of a river bending a while back just to look if there are flakes in the volcanic Ash.

I don't search for gold, but I find myself binging your videos - why when you are home do you use the mesh pots to classify versus using the thing that looks like a slide when you are on a river?

The slide thing is called a Sluice box and requires a lot of running water to use, which I don't have access to in my apartment.

What do you need to do to be able to do this? Permit or anything? I live in nh and have seen people doing this up and down that river and have a few other good ideas of spots I wanna try. Can I just go and start using a sluice in the river or what’s the process?
