@@tothestarsxx you can even see the one dude notice the camera and back out of frame behind the door. The guy that watched Andy and Will square off was also What...the.....hell.....
They've said in the past that they wouldn't pitch these, they would just go out and film them because they knew if they pitched them first they would be shot down immediately
@@Ash-gw1mf I have yet to see that show but it's definitely on the list. Suffice all that to say I've been watching SNL for years, and it was already kind of bad already by the time he joined, then it became markedly better for the time he was on it, only to now kind of be back in it's status as "hit or miss" week by week. So, as someone who hasn't seen that show but has been following SNL for a long ass time -- he's missed.
@@voteZDLR Yeah you right. His sketches are some of my favorites and I miss him on snl too along with others like Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis. I feel like those times were when snl was at its best. Now we can only hope that they will at least host the show at some point. Also, yes. You literally have to check out brooklyn nine-nine it’s hilarious and really gives you older snl vibes in a way.
I remember seeing this when it first premiered, and it's been my favorite SNL bit ever since. The fact that they had both Bon Jovi and the Foo Fighters on the same episode was amazing.
The complete joy on Andy's face after he punches somebody is what I'm here for. I'm so glad I rediscovered this absolute gem of a digital short. I remember when they aired and you never knew what the Lonely Island would come up with.
It's an easy editing trick, they sped up the part where head moves back by removing frames. Movement looks more natural when head gains velocity upon meeting with fist ;)
I was thinking the same thing like "these are all bona fide stunt doubles in their own right" everyone of them sold the punch so well and Samberg nailed it every time. No pun intended.
LEVY, you need to get laid big time man. Quoc Lam, LOL DUDE! Farheen, I know what you mean, I love this video so much too and somehow find it so relaxing. Andy Samberg is such a funny bastard, and so clever with it too.
I've seen this probably a thousand times and I never remember anything that happens after he strangles the other guy, and I'm always pleasantly surprised
It's honestly kinda beautiful. Wouldn't be surprised if Andy had been wanting to make 'a video where I just punch everyone then dance with zombies at the end' since he was but a wee lad.
@@relentlessdepressionmonste6170 I know plenty about drugs, seeing as I've done more than I'd like to admit lmao. But I gotta agree with him. I would MOST DEFINITELY consider Acid a hard drug, and Mushies aren't far off. Don't get me twisted.... Acid is about 20x more intense, but still similar effect. On a side note, don't you think your reply was kinda Douchey, my dude?
2:02 through the dozens of times ive seen this over the years, i never noticed fred armison was already about to eat that arm. I always thought that was andy accidentally pulling off freds arm.
Agreed and if you pay attention to the 2nd guy being punched, look at the customers in the pizza shop, 2 of them just back out of the scene slowly.....ded 🤣
What I love about this is that it totally could've been shot with little to no budget (if you remove celebrity cameos). A great sketch idea really just needs a good writer, a few actors, and an iPhone.
For some reason I remembered Dave & Taylor from the Foo Fighters in this sketch immediately after hearing the sad news earlier. Rest in peace Taylor Hawkins
