Jason created some amazing characters on SNL. He reminds me of Tim Conway. He adlibs on the night, sending his fellow cast members into fits of laughter. Jamie Foxx can't hold it together.
@@jamestaylor3805Acadia is a region of Maine where the French Canadians settled after being driven out by the English in Canada before later moving to Louisiana. The Acadian settlers had some linguistic shift turning “Acadian” into “Cajun”
@@missingallmymarbles7670 I know what acadia is, I was asking, as native mainer who saw nothing of the sort, where the acadian characteristics were in this clip. There were none. Nothing acadian here at all
The love-ahs with Barbara and Dave at the Welshly arms hotel hot tub! With The mighty Will Ferrell! One of my all-time favorites! Also, of course and always, Van Down by The River with the LEGENDARY Almighty Chris Farley!!
I from New Orleans LA , we don't talk with a country accent. Cajuns have a French accent & most our accents are similar to a Bronx accent. Not country. 😊
I know people from LA. I would never mistake them from being anywhere near NY ever. The accent is obviously not the type of twang represented here but it is most definitely Southern.
So that New Orleans accent sounds like it's from New York because back in the day they had teachers from New York transplanted to New Orleans. That's where they got there Northern sounding accent from. I know, that fact blew me away too. But it's true they sound a bit Northern. However the Cajun accent... absolutely French sounding. And if you listen to the movie Steel Magnolias, it's real upsetting because there are five or six different accents from all over the southern states and it can get really confusing. Case in point the lead, Julia Roberts, who's from Georgia, sounded like she was from Georgia, not Louisiana. LOL just saying☺️🤷🏻♀️
Some of y'all are questioning the accents of these Mainers...as someone whos lived here my entire life, the winters be boring sometimes... shit can get reeeeaal weird up here, i assure you. 🎉🙋♀️🤷♀️🥶🥸😈👽🙈🙉🙊👾😱🥰🤔🤭🤭
Other than the seal behind the judge there is ABSOLUTELY nothing “Maine” about this skit. Even “red Maine mud” is bs as our soil is rarely reddish like down south in say, Georgia. Occasionally you can find red clay but it’s not common and most clay is gray or tan.
As someone from Louisiana, I've never understood this sketch, it was hilarious but we have nothing in common with Maine other than seafood and well the Acadians, so was the joke just that they were confused AF about who they were and where they were from ?? Was this taken from somewhere else ??
