Snook fishing Siesta Key! 

So you can fish whenever, just not within the swim buoys of the main beaches. I did see that snook and I do like Siesta Key beach for that reason. I do all my beach fishing via sight casting. I was using a size 4 schminnow with dumbbell eyes. I also use a string bean. I have videos on tying these on my channel. Make sure you use at least 20# test as even small snook have abrasive mouths. Most people will use a some sort of small white fly. I do think one of the most important things is the sink rate. I use anything from no weight to heavy lead eyes. Depends on what depth the fish seem to be, conditions (if it is dead calm, heavier eyes spook the fish, although my biggest has come on one with big lead eyes), etc. I think the small dumbbell eyes is a good choice if you don’t want to change flies too much. Thanks for this reply. I’m really looking forward to getting down there and giving it a shot. I’ve watched the tying videos and I’ll watch them again in front of my vice this weekend. I’ll tie some with a variety of eyes. I really appreciate all of the info.
