The tips you've given on this video were absolutely spot on. My no.1 mistake is actually getting tricked by my brain thinking the point I'm aiming at is wrong, ultimately making me move around. Watching from Romford, Essex
Hello, I've been watching you're videos for years, and what I will say is they've not only improved your game but mine as well. I watched one of your older shots recreated videos and the standards you expect from yourself are much higher. I'm from Armoy, Northern Ireland and because of your videos I've 4 regulars playing in our local town league.
Started playing again after years off, barring the odd game here and there. These tips have helped me immensely. I’ll never be brilliant, but I’m potting some nice balls, which in turn makes the game much more enjoyable; which is what is all about. Thanks for passing on your knowledge to us all.
I've been following you for a short time and I realized that my game is improving following your advice. Well done, you are very good at the game of snooker, continue dear ones. Now my snooker play Is good! Gianni from Naples, Italy.
Thank you for this. After not improving much for several years I've finally started to feel like my game is reaching another level after taking on board your theories on correct sighting and aiming. I always focused on and blamed my cue action for every bad shot, but now I've realised I've been looking in the wrong place most of the time. Keep up the good work! From Chris in Bideford, England.
I've only just come across your channel and started to watch them. I've been a club league player for years, recently my teenage son has started playing and this video sums up in a few minutes what I have tried to explain to him for a few weeks, he has been obsessed with trying to manufacture a technique from watching other videos , what I like about this vid (which is spot on by the way) is that you are confirming what I believe the true technique is there is no technique it's more tactile than people think particularly about visualising and striking than can be thought mechanically I also have developed a long pause on my back swing on tough long pots which focuses the mind on visualising both the outcome and enhancing my focus, the results speak for themselves as it is a case of what works for one doesn't necessarily suit all, but like you point out if you think you will miss you most probably will, keep the visa coming!
Hello from Kansas City, Kansas! I just found your channel, but it's already helped me with visualization and trusting myself, and I can't wait to really dig into your catalog 🤙
FINALLY YOU POSTED A VIDEO REGARDING THIS! I HAVE BEEN LOOKING THROUGH YOUR VIDEOS BUT COULDN'T IMPROVE MUCH RATHER DECLINED IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS OR SO. I AM SO GLAD. THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS AND HARD WORK. (sorry for all caps lmao)
It’s funny… I have never played snooker but have watched so many of your videos, and others snooker videos, to help me play 8 and 9 ball in America (Frederick Colorado) I use snooker terminology and all your tips to play better pool. Thanks for the help!
I have been doing this unconsiously and this video explained it deeper. Its like pushing or throwing the onject ball in pocket. I that right? Ill keep on working on it
Wonderful stuff! Finally somebody taking up the issue of how shots look on different days, and a load of other wonderful tips. What helped me the most aiming is instead of aiming at a point on the surface of the object ball, I started aiming with the centre of gravity inside the object ball in mind (C.O.G is the point inside the ball that is equidistant from all points on it's surface) and what line the white should take, if it where to push the C.O.G of the OB along a line into the pocket. As I go down on the shot I just stay focussed on the OB COG and the line it should take into the pocket. This is very different than imagining the point of intersection between the white and the object ball and aiming for that. It works way better for me, because the size and shape of the object ball in my mind, and the centre of it's gravity always remains constant for every shot. Whenever you take out variables, such as the point of intersection, you will always make things simpler, and in my mind I am only concentrating now on the line of the white and aiming precisely for that line, but at the same time I'm still imagining the path of the object ball at every time under the shot - the point where the white hits the object ball is irrelevant. Before I started to do this, I was often bothered in my pre-shot visualization of angles by lighting and shadows on the surface of the balls. Ignoring the surfaces and just concentrating on the inner COG - makes the balls disappear! and you are just left with two simple lines and no tricky interactions of spherical surfaces to negotiate.
I love your videos, they are super useful and well explained. I improved my potting consistency thanks to your amazing tips. I'm from Salta, Argentina in case you want to put me on the map!.
I am from India. You are Amazing, just got my new Cue, tag me in your next video. My name is Rahil, I wish you a Happy life brother. Besides the best things from your videos, the multiple bonus stuff you add is just icing on the cake
Could you do a video on rule changes you'd like to see? I'd like an extra spot between blue and pink to reduce all that faffing around getting a ball (normally the pink) as close as possible to its spot. Alternatively, I'd add a line down the middle of the table to make respotting when all the spots are occupied quicker.
Great tips. The problem i face is i can't practice on the same table. I have to swap between tables that have new cloth and then old cloth and the tables play completely different. Its hard enough to be consistent without these issues not to mention different rolls on each table too.
Thank you for this breakdown. I am teaching a friend to play both snooker and pool (the former with very limited locations to play here in the US!). I would like to know how my friend who is shorter with short arm reach can play this way. She has to play with the cue out to the side due to her femininity. She has definitely improved over the year she has been playing, but she is unable to use the traditional bridge finger spread. Thank you in advance! Residing in Lakebay, WA, USA.
Love your videos man, you have helped me improve in snooker in so many ways and i can't thank you enough. Been binging your videos for days now haha. From stockton-on-tees England
Video idea, replicate shots which pros have taken, but haven't gone to plan... And then you make them better? Love the videos mate, Rory from Isle of Skye.
Bit late to the party, as I'm more of a pool player as opposed to a snooker player, but this is cracking content mate; really informative and interesting. I dare say Stephen Hendry and yourself have got me wanting to try to move from checkers and attempt to play chess!
Your explanation is great but mostly for the native English speakers. Will you please explain slower and a little bit easier so that your non native English speakers understand? Thank you
Hey. I am Miras, from Almaty, Kazakhstan. I love the montage of your videos. I am a bit of a RU-vidr myself. And I am constantly thinking how you script your speech for a voiceover to then carry on at the table. But the phantom white ball with then substitute real one was top notch m8
Yes.. This is a very helpful way to improve our game. Thanks for such amazing ideas and ways to improve our game. Do keep posting Warm regards and best👍💯 wishes The UnknownManCub 👍😎👨🏭
I am really really struggling with my grip, stance is right, head is still all things right but potting a ball when I just don't feel my grip right is a nightmare. Once I get my grip right my performance increases exponentially even I can pot every ball on the table. What do you advice me? Lots of love from Pakistan. ❤️
I think you need to move a bit during the shot because you can't find the right aming point by just going down to the shot, especially on harder shots.
Hmmm. I just realized I don't think my leg is straight/knee locked in when I shoot. I think I bend my knee probably about 20 degrees. This could potentially allow your body to sway ever so slightly without you even noticing. Would I be correct to assume this? Ironically I don't think I have ever heard anyone speak about this, but I could be wrong.
Eddie Charlton based his game on playing the shortest shot, simple position and just rolling the balls in without having to do too much work with the cue ball
From Jordan aqaba, i have been playing this game long time ago my highest break was 87 i was hoping to make 100 or over 100 but in fact now I can’t remember when it was last time i made 30 sometimes i miss very easy pool I don’t know why!! Yes I don’t play as much as before because i hate to lose and i hate after over 15 years experience i miss very easy shots lately i lose with nope player they just start to learn how to pick up the que what i can do to come back in the game! Can you told me what wrong with me is it lack of confidence because i stop playing as much as i do??? Or my que action change and the way i stand in table change?
Summer is here…. Not great in the UK but I reckon it’s time to remove your hat. Your snooker will improve dramatically without the excess weight on your head. Baldness is ok mate. You can do it. We don’t care about your hair or lack of it. You are a fantastic snooker player who has the best snooker channel on RU-vid and that’s all we’re interested in
