I’ve seen a lot of videos about positional play and cue ball control and this video is the best, at least i learned something good. Before this i always used shots like you mentioned because i always thought using less cushion is better.
Hi. Thank you! Here are the different positions for each successful shot: First shot: 1 tip below middle - no side. Second shot: 1 tip below middle and a touch of left-hand-side. Third Shot: Top-spin and a touch of left-hand-side.
this hit me right in the head. amazing amazing tip, so simple yet so helpful. really feel like I could improve by positional play from now on. thanks a lot!
Great video again! Maybe would've liked to hear you go through the shots themselves (where you hit the cue ball). Nic Barrow from 'Snooker Coaching At The Snooker Gym' plays that black to yellow with a bit of left hand side to get a bit of extra speed in the cue ball and to get nicely into the final line.
Hi there! First shot: 1 tip below middle - no side. Second shot: 1 tip below middle and a touch of left-hand-side. Third Shot: Top-spin and a touch of left-hand-side. Hope that helps!
Great vid like always Steve. Nice idea and I will always try to remember on my positional play never across the face of the object ball always towards the object ball. Makes so much more sense
Nice video but I still have an important question. When you pot the black to get position on the yellow, are you just screwing the cueball back a little, or are you using left hand side to get the desired angle off the cussion?
First shot: 1 tip below middle - no side. Second shot: 1 tip below middle and a touch of left-hand-side. Third Shot: Top-spin and a touch of left-hand-side.
Thanks for such a great video.. just curious, do you still apply the “think 3 ball ahead” rule? I suppose it’s difficult enough to apply the 3 ball ahead rule.
Hi. I'm always thinking 3 shots ahead, but on certain shots you're just trying to give yourself a shot on the next ball. In the 3rd example in this video, it would be hard to leave the cue ball too precisely positioned on the red, so it's just about leaving yourself a nice easy pot.
HRinc Ronnie is doing the same, Wenbo Liang too. Dropping the elbow helps you to keep the cue ball a bit longer on the tip, leading to more control and better feel( in my opinion).
First shot: 1 tip below middle - no side. Second shot: 1 tip below middle and a touch of left-hand-side. Third Shot: Top-spin and a touch of left-hand-side.
