@Micro Stop disrespecting legends. You are just dumbed down and listen to music that is talentless as hell. What is interesting about a person that mumbles over a beat (that literally doesn’t differentiate to other beats) and even makes noises like "BRRR"? Hip Hop back then: "Aiyyo, camouflage chameleon. Ninjas scaling your building. No time to grab the gun, they already got your wife and children. A hit was sent from the president to raid your residence because you had secret evidence and documents how they rapin continents and lynched the prominent, dominant, Islamic, Asiatic, black, Hebrew. The year 2002 the battle is filled with the Wu. 6 million devils just died on a bubonic flow. Or the Ebola virus under the reign of king Cyrus. You can see the weakness of a man right through his iris." "Hip Hop" now: BRRR SKRRRR RZA tells us a complete story with a good flow while your mumble rappers can’t even speak clearly.
Idk I feel like they are still creative like look at the Bronx scene rn they pull songs back from like 2010s remix it and make it a drill song and it’s different than what people from other cities and states make
@Micro 😂 future you will be disappointed on what you said. Cause legendary music lives on, mumble rappers they pass like trends. He is right, no one working on originality. They all selling merchandise and that's not what music is about, that's the problem.
Ya u can't duplicate it that's how it was back in the days like snoop said no 2 rappers were the same real talk nowadays every other idiot rap artist copy's of one another lol haha
Laying snoop Dogg take us to all record of old school rapper's and play them all to proved the point please please please play all the rappers record this is laying story snoop Dogg laying story laying story are big layer you starting to sound like the devil snoop looking for someone you can have beef with
U also see whats happening with things like BLM,George Floyd and so on and nun of these mumble rapers will even mention it or go near somthing like it its just plane sad
@@bloodeagle6458 youd think african american rappers who all claim to have "come from the hood" and say "fuck the police" all the time would be right on this shit, but all these assholes do is make another "song" about "yeah i fuck yo bitch"
For real though. As soon as a song starts you can tell which one of them old school rappers it was based on the flow. The more chill and relaxed belong to the D-O-G-G
I don't know what happened. I think the record companies wanted to dumb down Hip Hop. Notice none of them are saying anything powerful to uplift our people. Just the same BS and wack at that. Sad. Maybe this generation didn't get the DNA for talent and creativity. Maybe their children will. Your thoughts?
Naazir Ra Exactly. Rap these days is way too much autotune mixed with mumble rap.. and i cant relate to it cause this a new era of bullshit with no meaning
The art of story telling has been removed. And record labels push nothing positive because they don't want to uplift they want to destroy. A lot of what they rap about not even real.
Talent and creativity requires years of dedication. Today's generation wants quick money, instant gratification etc etc. That's why they lack real talent.
I don’t think they’re making the money the claim to have. You gotta remember, nobody is buying full records anymore. At a $1 per song and after production price, they’re not getting that much.
@@Bcilloz it's not Just about records: sponsorships, podcasts and TV, merchandising, external incomes etc. In fact, i'm not very knowledgeable on record labels but i'm pretty sure they pay the smallest fraction of the gain to the artist (which for the mere mortal like us Is still a lot) so they don't really earn through that usually
@@davideventili2881 I get it but you gotta remember that without the music, they’re not really an artist. No one is going to give you sponsorships unless you’re actively involved in the art form. Like NASCAR, you only get sponsors if your actually racing. Very few artist especially in the rap game have staying power. The first records a hit snd they’ll be lucky to pull off the same success with that second album. Even Micheal Jackson didn’t have the sane success with Bad as he did with Thriller.
I think that the phenomenon explained by Snoop applies not only to rap music. Within virtually any music genre nowadays, there is the same pattern of copying what have already been created.
Yeah for real. Snoop hit the nail right on the head. Today’s rap at least in my opinion is garbage not because it’s new and I’m old it’s because of the fact that every artist not only looks the same but they sound the same. They have the same style of beat and they rap the same. The artists when I was growing up didn’t sound the same, look the same or rap the same. Each had their own unique rap flow and style and their beats were original. Big Daddy Kane never copied Rakim and vice versa. Today however it’s so difficult to distinguish who’s who because everyone sounds alike, looks alike and raps alike.
Yeah I was mad they put big sean in the mix because he definitely raps wit his own style and cadence alot of rappers took big sean flow.if we being real
Can we just get a West Coast connection album to bring back real rap. Snoop, Dre, Warren G, The Twins, 2nd II None, all the OGs from the 90s and set the record straight
Eminem and Joyner Lucas “Lucky You” is a perfect example. Em has a similar flow before things but it’s exactly what snoop is talking about in parts of this song..
Honestly it's going on in all styles of music. Rap, Alternative, Rock, Metal, Pop, etc. They all have multiple groups, artists that sound the same AND the over production of the sounds make everything sound hi-fi. We need to start calling the shit out. Snoop is right, back in the day you biting was lame.
Thats 4 real snoopdog is iconic in a nother liga.. keep your mind sharp and keep Your game up and make more nice hits in oldschool style. Bigest fan from Danmark ^^
So true. It’s so formulaic. Nothing is original anymore. The concept to everything is the same also, rap about money and getting laid. In 80’s and 90s people had a story to tell, something to say. Every single song is the same shit now.
YASSSSSSS!!! I grew up in the 80s and Snoop is exactly right!!! You immediately knew who was playing cause of the DIFFERENCE in each badass rapper back then. People don’t know anymore. It’s badass rappers now but he’s dead on when he’s talking about back in the good days
That’s why I only listen to underground rap. Most of them have some skills that would blow their mind. But because they won’t subject themselves into the way of the industry to be something there not they don’t recogniztion.
I forgot which video it was, but it was a topic about why modern music sounds so similar to each other and one of the reasons they gave was that music producers choose to apply the same forms (eg, catchy melodies, catchy lyrics ) of music which "sells"
we are in the mediocrity era in the music industry, in the dating relationships, in fake personnality on social medias, fake ass chicks, lgbt, etc... ...
