Another nice video. For snow conditions, I used to carry an old aluminum square cake pan. It was handy as a snow shovel for clearing the area for my footprint and I used it for bringing hot rocks into the tent to warm the tent and remove condensation. It was also a safe place to light a couple of tealight candles. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Another awesome video to help me escape from the drudgery of being a desk jockey. Would much rather be in the outdoors. Thanks for bringing us along! Why in the world would a shoe manufacturer deny claims on their shoes????- Rhetorical question….. A great way to alienate the hiker community. Hopefully they see the error in their way and honor the warranty.
GREAT to see you back on the trail and heading over those passes (in the snow no less!). Here's hoping the COVID cough gets better, but until it does, take it slow (er) and easy. You don't want a relapse. Enjoy the time with your folks to get dry, rest, resupply and mental refit. Hope the major snows hold off a bit so that you can get south of Colorado. Until then, Hike On! Haha... package explosion on the sidewalk. Rather be in the warm hotel room, but the views are awesome. With the late start, 13 wasn't too bad. So happy to see you back out on the trail again, Matt.
so good to see you back on track with another video! was a bit worried after your last one ended on a rather negative tone, with all that coughing, and then no new upload for a couple days now. that post-coroney is no joke appearently. stay safe!
Thanks. Coughing fits are still with me particularly going over the passes. I’m just happy I’m able to make progress even if I’m a little weaker than I’d like to be
Glad you scored a moose sighting, Matt. Also glad that your parents are going to meet up with you at Twin Lakes now. I reckon they will still meet you on Monarch, as well.
Altra quality is just continuing to degrade with each shoe iteration. Happened to Lone Peak, Superior etc. shocked they won’t warranty that if you didn’t get 3-500 miles.
How up-to-date is this video? Just wondering if you’re still (only) in mid-Colorado. Is that where the bubble is, or should you be in NM by now? No shade, just curious.
I put the date on the map slide but as of today (October 6th) I just left Twin Lake headed south. Most of the others I know about are 100 ish miles south. They got ahead while I was down for those 10 days with Covid
