'Hike your own Hike' as they say. Find your path and relish what you can make of the journey. Not everyone can crisscross the country, multiple times, on an 'official trail' or one of your own making. Someday in the far future, you will look back and find amazement at all you have accomplished. And what you have done is monumental. Wish I still had the legs! But I still have dreams!
Gorgeous snows and beautiful golden aspen! Such a dramatic difference in one day up, over, and down. I think you're very smart to prioritize safety when hiking. It doesn't do any good if you are a dangerous purist! Hope the cough fades and that the weather holds. Hike on! Tortoise
When you said you heard there were good sandwiches at that shop I was totally expecting you to say it was closed. Flashbacks to the ECT/AT all over the place. I'm glad it was open and you had a great sandwich!
I have used crock pot plastic bag liners for shoe vbl. I haven't had any fail. If it will support a turkey they had better have some resilience. Bread bags don't last.
Great perseverance Masochist. Re: the CYTC attempt - was that Quadzilla? If so, he's really moving! Enjoying the journey and hope you have/had a good stay with the parents! Onwards...😎⛰️🏞️
Would you say they the Patagonia r1 is a good shoulder season piece? We have been looking at them for a good cooler weather. We have the Appalachian gear alpaca hoodies to use for cold weather, but are looking for something to compliment it for slightly warmer temps.
It was an emergency replacement when my old arctyryx fortrez fleece went missing on the way to the trail. I don’t like it as well as the fortrez but those have been off the market for years now. Honestly the only real complaint I have about the R1 has been the chest pocket is far too small to be useful. Other than that I’ve been living in it out here since it got cold
I thought it was a really cool accomplishment until i looked closer. The stripped down version of the continental divide trail they have to do makes it seem like what is the point
