An interesting documentary on one of the most endangered and shy wild cat in the world. Snow leopards are inhabitants of the highest and toughest mountain regions like Himalaya, Karakoram, Hindukush and Pamir. This nature and wildlife documentary was filmed in Mangolia's Altai mountains to observe and document the population of snow leopards in the region.

I can't help doffing my hat off to all the crew of Mongolia & Japan who had been engaged in the creation on this rare & brilliant animal in the western Mongolia having spent well over 1 year. Thanks to their single-minded determination & unwavering dedication, we are able to enjoy, admire, & appreciate the life of this truly rare marvelous creature at the comfort of our home. They all certainly deserve a big pat on the back for a job well done. Incidentally, what distinguishes this NHK doc. from the rest is the demonstration by the animation as shown at 25:54 for our clearer understanding. Greatly Grateful & Gratified to the core.,,,I wonder if anyone would comply w/ my view!?,,,,(01/06/23)

What a great documentary. These cats are absolutely amazing. Great job to the team to put so much time, effort and determination into researching and learning more about these beautiful elusive big cats. Glad to hear the nomads don't hunt and kill them for hunting their livestock. Remember these animals were there first and you chose to settle there and bring a livestock buffet to their doorstep. Of course they're going to try and grab an easy meal. Unlike in Africa where they hunt and kill predators that kill their livestock even tho the animals lived there for millions more years before man lived there. Always help conserve wildlife and these amazing big cats!

Upon seeing this singular wildlife doc. for the 2nd time, the following thought crossed my mind ; albeit most of people admire those photographers who had to spend nights & days w/ an infinite patience in order to procure those momentous shots in the face of some adverse environments, not too many of us comment on a script writer who is brilliant & sagacious, & rarely if any, on a narrator who delivers it so effectively. This narrator w/ a low-pitched & a dignified tone of voice is well suited for this sort of doc. in which his unique intonation & the way he narrates certainly enhances a wealth of intrigue, thrill, & excitement on this doc.,,,,,Would anyone else feel the same w/ me?, I wonder!!!,,,,,(01/20/23 Fri.)

It's really encouraging to hear that the Magnificent Snow Leopard is still holding it's own. So glad they are so good at not being seen.. How about we leave them alone and allow them to thrive. Such BEAUTIFUL Amazing creatures. Humans have done so much damage to this Planet. I Mourn the Creatures we have destroyed. I am 100% Ashamed of my Species. I hold my head in Shame.
@metalmamasue3680
@metalmamasue3680 Год назад
I'm also very unhappy with what humans have done to animals. But I personally haven't destroyed them, so I refuse to hang my head in shame. We aren't responsible for what others have done. But we can still try to help. I TRY to teach others why they're important, in particular I try to reach them young, I teach kids that animals were here first and why they are important, any animals they're interesed in. So the least we can do is coexist with our wild friends and not try to kill them. I have no issue whatsoever with people who hunt deer & other animals that are NOT endangered, to feed their families. But I believe it's wrong to kill something just to hang their heads on the wall. I speak up for nature's underdogs like snakes & reptiles. You aren't truly an animal lover if you ONLY like the furry ones. MUCH of what kids think is what their parents say or don't say to them. I tell them just like every kid's important, ALL animals are important in nature to keep a proper balance. Make it a point to do something positive for them, speak up for the animals you love. Help make others aware that snow leopards and big cats in general NEED OUR help, their numbers are too low & even decreasing in many places. We can make people aware, try to raise funds for groups like The Nature Conservancy who work with animals we love, even just educating others helps. We can start with our neighbors, friends and our families. The more people that know and learn about snow leopards and other animals, the more people may help support their cause. Speak up about poaching and what a huge problem it is, in some places, also of the taking of animals for traditional Chinese medicine which (no offense) has NO basis in science, it's NOT factually correct, rhino horns are made of keratin which is what our hair and fingernails are made of, so no, it doesn't cure a thing that ails you nor does it improve your sex life. That's what some people believe. People still kill elephants for ivory. Elephants are very intelligent, they love their families & mourn their dead. They deserve far better than to be killed by snares, no animal deserves to be trapped by snares, only to die a slow, painful death. Instead of feeling bad, do something. If we all tried, it would make a huge impact on them and help undo the wrongs that humans have done. Learn, pass on what you learn and help by being the change you want to see. Speak up for the animals you love. 😊❤️

The noise would probably scare them off but even if it didn't it would probably make the animals act completely different when there is a drone flying over their head. But it would be cool if they come equip a drone with those super high magnification cameras then land them somewhere to scout for the beautiful Snow Leopards

At this point, and in this day and age, it seems pointless for my comment. But I STILL have to say, it makes no sense to ME that anyone would or should've hunted these absolutely gorgeous, handsome and majestic animals to near extinction. I get sick-to-death of the maliciousness and selfishness of people. I don't know if these beautiful cats were hunted for food. But I'm certain they were hunted for their hides. Which is so disrespectful of and to the animal.
