I used to grass drag, so much fun! Had a 650 Polaris Starfire in 1974, modified, running Klotz racing fuel (95% alcohol), spiked with nitro-methane. Did my share of winning around Ontario with sleds from all over Canada and the US. I added an 800 to my stable and broke the 100 MPH barrier in the 660. (Chatham, Ontario, Police radar) Good times back then, "73, 74, 75! BTW, my 650 Starfire , was brand new in the crate and never saw a flake of snow in it's short, but very successful life! I am 71 and still love snowmobile drag racing ...... what a rush!
I live in New Brunswick Canada and love Snowmobiles but we have to travel everywhere to go sledding so nice fo watch content on what I love so much keep up good work LOVE METALLICA!
Good lord. I just stumbled across this. I was there this day. Cable WI. A tiny little town in the north woods of Wisconsin. About 45 minutes south of me. A beautiful winter day with amazing machines. I’m the one with the snow suit and thermal boots on....lol
Shocked the hell out of me to see an old deere. When was the last deere sled made anyway.there used to be a deere shop in my small town here in iowa but hell it probably shut down back in the mid 90s lol
Mettalica is great I want to use rock medleys for my blog FTFM Garage. But I Hurd you can’t use other peeps toons or is it just can’t use the invite song?
How long are these races and how fast it is things going this stuff needs to be timed Start to see who wins when there’s nothing but a rooster tail of snow they got to be knocking on 150mph no?
These are 500’ races. Some of the outlaw sleds are over 150mph. There are cameras at the the start line to determine red lights and cameras at the finish to determine the winner. More than once the finish line camera has been used for slow motion frame by frame replays to determine a winner by inches. This system has worked well for years. Have you ever dealt with timers and the issues that go along with them? Snow outlaws prides itself on organization and a strict race schedule. Glitchy timers, cut wires buried in the snow, etc are a good way to mess up a show.
