This song always reminds me of a horrible time in my life, where my Ex-Girlfriend cheated on me, in the same time my mum betrayed me financially. I ended up alone and homeless in my car. I didn't know what to do with myself at this time. So i drive for hours and hours to deal with my feelings and past the time. That song played all the time in the radio, when i drive around the country. One day after finally getting out of that hole and I moved into my own place and this song started playing on the radio. it was a new beginning for me and the start of a new life. Music is sometimes a mystery.

I still remember the first time listening to this song with my dad in the old Mini Cooper. We were simply driving to the dealership to get maintenance. Tinha de 9 para 10 anos quando essa música lançou e lembro que passava direto na Mix TV hahaha desde criança sempre foi uma das minhas músicas preferidas e ainda permanece assim nos dias de hoje! Ouvir este som já adulto bate uma certa tristeza por não poder voltar naquela época, mas ao mesmo tempo sinto uma gratidão enorme por ter vivido uma infância maravilhosa e agora lembrar de momentos incríveis!!!! Best music video in the world. Imagine the guy passing through the same streets, same shops, and same houses every time when he rides his bike to meet with his girl. His feeling is getting more excited when he sees the houses near the peak. There is a feeling that I'm getting closer to my lover, I can't wait to see her. Perfect song to listen to at this moment. Damn, even though I don't have a girlfriend, I can still imagine all this shit, It's like the music video somehow plants other's memory in your brain.

The footage for the video was taken from a film called c'etait un rendezvous (it was a meeting) in Paris. It was shot in one take and the actor caused outrage at the time by driving through red lights, even though it was shot at 5.30a.m! I find it fascinating how the length of the clip fits perfectly to the music!

After 16 years, my cat passed away this past weekend. I sat there and held him during the injection and my world flew apart at the seams. No thoughts or emotional walls could have prepared me for that moment. This song is utterly beautiful and I don't think I have ever cried so much over sung words that I didn't write myself. This is a musical masterpiece and while I wish that it made everything easier, it has honestly made the past couple days harder. I cannot get this song out of my head. Love is so powerful. The character of the song lost a loved one and the words couldn't be more perfect for expressing the same feelings that they go through. Your world ends for a brief while. It becomes strange and untrue... For that reason, I am glad I heard it. Because for the first time since last friday, someone was able to actually put into words what I was feeling...

This song, this album brings me to a breakup with an girlfriend and it still cuts to the bone today. In many ways this album helped me through the grief of the split. Ich höre das Lied seit ich 11 Jahre bin damals immer mit meinem Vater im Auto bei langen Fahrten. Später öfter mit meiner ersten Liebe und in so vielen weiteren Phasen jetzt mit 26 höre ich ihn noch immer. Es stecken so viele Erinnerungen in diesem Lied dass es mich jedes Mal extrem nostalgisch zurück lässt.

Em agosto de 1978, portanto há 39 anos, o cineasta francês Claude Lelouch adaptou uma câmera giroscopicamente estabilizada na frente de um Ferrari 275 GTB e convidou um amigo, piloto profissional de Fórmula 1, para fazer um trajeto no coração de Paris, na maior velocidade que ele pudesse. A hora seria logo que o dia clareasse. O filme só dava para 10 minutos e o trajeto seria de Porte Dauphine, através do Louvre até a basílica de SacreCoeur. Lelouch não conseguiu permissão para interditar nenhuma rua no perigoso trajeto a ser percorrido. O piloto completou o circuito em 9 minutos, chegando a 260 km por hora em certos momentos. O filme mostra-o furando sinais vermelhos, quase atropelando pedestres, espantando pombos entrando em ruas de sentido único. O sol nem havia raiado ainda.

O piloto, teria sido René Arnoux, ou Jean-Pierre Jarier ? Quando mostrou o filme em público pela primeira vez, Claude Lelouch foi preso. Mas ele nunca revelou o nome do piloto de fórmula 1 que pilotou a máquina e o filme foi proibido, passando a circular só no underground. Vale a pena curtir a emoção de passear em Paris como se estivesse a bordo de um Ferrari 275 GTB.

Eu vivo aqui em Paris a 6 anos, e o percurso é basicamente o mesmo, a unica diferença perceptivel é nas fachadas de lojas e nos carros. Os predios, as ruas, tudo permanece igual ^^)

This song has a very strong meaning for me, I remember it being one of the first music videos I saw on television when I was a child, after years, I had memories of this song, but I didn't know its name, the only part that I remember I remembered it was "Tell me if you open your eyes", but thanks to the technology we have today I missed listening to this song on my cell phone screen and with headphones

In 2004 My best friend died. We had both just turned 24. Everytime I hear this song I think of him. It hits me like no other song. Make sure you tell the people you love that you do love them. Once they are gone it is too late. It's literally the only true soul crushing regret I have. Please learn from my mistake, I can assure you it will save you a lifetime of pain and regret. I would give anything for him to open his eyes one more time so I could tell him how much I loved him.

I was lucky enough to discover Snow Patrol in '07 back in high school as an angsty teenager. I was in love, but had to move to another state for college. This album helped me through some really tough depression. Fast forward 10 years and I'm still listening to this same album remembering those days only to realize they weren't so bad. I was just a kid, feeling kid emotions and thinking kid thoughts, letting myself get the best of me. Now as an adult in my 30's, I'm able to appreciate the artistry in their music on a much deeper level. In my mind, they're easily on of the greatest bands in the world, with some of the most poetic, and meaningful lyrics ever written. Cheers.

Mate I went through the exact same experience, 07/08 just done with highschool and moved to a whole different continent for university, drowning in my teenage angst while feeling like I am invincible, straight A student, one of the popular kids while being an introvert, good at everything I gave a shot at. Now starting of my thirties and having dropped out of uni once,having experienced couple of heart breaks, dealt with financial troubles, then gone back to uni and now feeling just as lost as I was in 07/08, I have a deeper appreciation for snow patrol and their music. (please ignore the grammar, I was too busy swimming in the sea of nostalgia and English isn't my first language)
