Cleaning up a 2 vehicle crash during a snow/ice storm. Very dangerous driving conditions. www.paypal.me/... If you like my videos....tips appreciated, but not required. www.midwesttruc...
I'm a little late watching this Ron, but per your loving request { Through Jesus my prayers are extended to the drivers of those vehicles and, all the emergency crews, for you and your family and your employees & their, families, etc., Amen } I am sure the families know you and your employees work in sometimes harsh conditions and in dangerous places and they worry out of love..... I continue to pray that people learn to slow down in bad weather out of respect for each other....... Thanks for taking the time to make the videos, edit them, and up-load them. I know it's a lot of work making videos, but I love seeing your trucks, riding along inside the trucks via your head / hat cam, and your efforts to load the vehicles and do rescue work. I certainly don't wish or pray for stuck vehicles or accidents so that you can provide video footage, but, unfortunately Accidents happen even to the best of us, so I'm thankful you are there to clean up and make the roads safe and passable once again and that you share your experiences with us thru your camera. Perhaps people watching your videos will be reminded thru the unfortunate owners of these cars and other vehicles in your videos what can happen and drive as safe as possible and have respect for each other, etc. Also these videos you produce may help teach and remind people to drive slower thru emergency zones learning and being reminded there are emergency people near by that can be hurt or killed easily by a careless driver. Your videos help teach people how they should react to emergency situations along the road and to drive carefully. Flashing lights of any kind are always a reminder to be extra safe around that vehicle and the environment around it.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You truly understand the purpose of this channel and for that I am extremely grateful... A very humble....thank you. God bless.
You are most welcome... Perhaps your kindness and gentle determiner that comes with your faith will also influence other viewers as well. Again, thanks for your well produced videos.
noguh said agreed with every word you said my thoughts and prayers to all emergency crews nationwide aswell those guys are fighting the good fight for you and me ^_^
Ron Pratt did you read. my question. about the hrs. of service? Thank you for all that you do. Also your comments are Very informative without a lot of unessiary info.
Who rescues the rescuer if something bad happens and you get stuck in bad weather? Thank heavens for people like you who go out in all weather to help others in need.
I did the Calgary to Medicine Hat mail run in 95 with an R model Mack and a 48 foot trailer, and the roads from Brooks to the Hat were like that every morning. Those mail runs are all at night so I used to arrive at the Hat in the early morning and there'd be cars and trucks off the road and even stuck on the road on a daily basis. I often found myself winding my way among trucks that were stuck on the highway and I was often told I was the only driver that always made it through. You have my prayers for staying safe and always getting home in one piece. You do a very dangerous job in the safest way so you have my respect for that.
I have sometimes the same with the Pete when the cam is mounted higher on the hat or Ron is has his seat adjusted to a higher point. It weird but shows of how good quality these videos are! Keep it up!
Ron, that was a double whammy! It amaze me how close you and first responder work together! The officer sued you for a broom so he could sweep the mess! Just like a big family! Keep it my friend! God bless!
Dear Mr Pratt & Mike. I certainly agree with Dianna F. Stay Safe on the Roads and God Bless You All, Family's as well as Midwest Truck Staff. Of course, I pray for those affected by the accident and everyone on the winter roads as well in the United States as in Sweden.
Its Feb 21st 2019 when I'm watching this and thinking of the weather hitting south east Mo today and praying for the Midwest Truck crew to have a safe night.
We know the owners of several tow companies in our area, and after watching this video. I can tell you that you are more professional than at least one or two of them. God Bless You. We Pray that no one was seriously injured in this accident. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I remember driving in weather like that, up in the PA/NJ area. In the automatic trucks, if I wasn't hard on the brakes when shifting into drive, the rears would sometimes just spin on the spot at idle. And when I wanted to stop, I had to slip it into neutral to stop, otherwise the front wheels would lock up and the rears would keep pushing me along the road. I love driving in just about any sort of weather...but not when it's like that. Nice quick job - and glad you're both safe. :-)
God bless you Ron and crew. You are such a professional and know your craft well. Many people have been blessed by your attention to their needs in moments of crisses in their lives. We are all called to do good things for others and God has put you in a vocation where that is a daily opportunity. I love your new truck and the versitility of it. I also love the grace with which you handle your employees, new ones and regular employees. You're a good man. May God richly bless you and your family. I'm 72 and retired, so say hi to your father for me. Tom Mitchell Olathe Kansas.
Ron , I live up in Ste. Gen. Typical Missouri weather. You got snow. We got rain. If you don't like the weather in Missouri, wait a couple of hours, it'll change.
Tim Paszkiewicz hey I am from south of Ron in the bootheel. i usually add another line to that statement about weather in swampeast MO. “You may not like the weather change any better but it will be different.” Rom God bless and be safe! You guys work in some of the worse conditions!
Absolutely love your videos, been watching for over a year now. I love how unique and "out of the norm" your back up beepers are as well as the same klaxon on the rotator. Gets everyones attention and doesnt blend in with normal noise of life. Very safe.
The way the truck was its amazing there was no life changing injuries,we get very little freezing rain now and icy road like we use too, but the big problem is the cars are so light these day and wow you got them loaded fast,as all ways Ron Pratt may you all be blessed and kept safe .
Ron Pratt. I love your videos i have been watching for almost 3 months now and the videos that you produce are very great and show me what the towing life is like. My dad is a truck driver and he and I go all over the U.S. when ever I'm not at school. I would love to meet you and go on a job with you it would be a great experience for me. Thank You. God Bless. From the Kuffler Trucking Inc Family.
Wow!! What messy roads, and weather. Something like ours. We just received 30 cm (1 ft.) of snow yesterday, and already it's trying to melt. So glad that nobody was critically injured in this accident, and that all the first responders got there safely too. God bless and stay safe. :)
Ron, this situation shows how important your professional methods really are. Road and weather conditions teamed up to make this recovery potentially dangerous. But, you just got'r done and everyone went home safe.
That Red pickup was converted into the new articulated steering version, only capable of right hand turns only all the time ! My prayers to the injured involved as always, that truck reminded me of an accident that happened about 4 years ago where one car T boned another car and the car that was damaged like that truck was driven into the end of my driveway by the impact sideways!! I live at the intersection of an OFFSET 4 way intersection which is very bad because everything is at an uphill slant or downhill slant depending on your point of view!! The driver of the T boned car survived but not without severe injuries to his right side neck that resulted in him having a stroke that left his left side arm and leg impaired !! I had used several large white towels to control bleeding without moving him in any way, ambulance is only 2 miles away so they arrived within 2 minutes of call along with rescue and fire trucks, they called stat flight to get him to Westchester Hospital, my actions probably saved his life anyway and so his family later thanked me for doing what I did, and that was gratifying enough for me!!
Just figured out how to get on here the Lord it truly evident in your life it shows up in all that you do you and all of the others that work the strats and public are In my prares. While I am at it do you run with tire chains at any time and have you thaute about making tire skids for Draging vehicles sideways to cut down on drag prashr sortive like skees
Hi Ron from the UK WE just getting frost at the moment minus 3 centigrade . I love your motto excellent for your Christian recovery company. I have my own Christian learner driving school and my motto is Driven by the spirit. I love the way Our Lord watches over us while we are working, even though the devil is always waiting to strike whenever he gets the chance , but our angels are always one step ahead AMEN. GOD BLESS YOU RON ALL YOUR STAFF AND YOUR CLIENTS. KEITH are Trinity Driving School Wakefield West Yorkshire U K
Yet another brilliant recovery job we have had it bad in the uk as well. I always think about all the emergency services people having to work in the bad weather
You seem to be having the same weather as us over here, it was called the beast from the east. The whole country was covered in snow, brought it to a complete halt as we aren’t geared up for lots of snow. As always keep safe and god bless
Number 23!! Heck yeah Ron your da man and always do a great job sir! Lots of love to you and your family. Thank you for helping all of these people now and in the past. God bless.
Boy I know about that snow and ice in your part of that state. I was stationed Illinois for 2 years in 66 to 68 and have a friend that lives in Scott City. We haven;t had any snow this winter. In fact it was 80 degrees today. Good Job.
Another very interesting video Ron, Thanks for taking us along. Did you manage to get these two off before you were called out again? People *amaze* me!! Even passing an accident, presumably caused by a combination of the road conditions and poor driving skills; they *still* drive too fast for the conditions, while probably paying more attention to the crashed vehicles than the ones in front of them. There should be a separate class on driving licenses, permitting driving in snow & ice, and involving a separate driving test. Same applies to towing a trailer or, especially, a caravan. Maybe a pain/tricky to enforce but it would save lives. Stay warm and safe pal, Cheers for now, Dougie.
It is funny in a non haha way to see how you uses the snatch block to pull the vehicle over straight. Due to the fact, my dad would have just hooked up to the vehicle. Then pulled the vehicle until it was lined up with the bed of the rollback. Although this is how he learned it in the military I suppose! Although, I like how you do move the vehicle over straight, with the snatch block, without moving the rollback at all. Needless, to say a lot is different from the late 70's through the mid 90''s when I was around the family towing and recovery business! Of course, there is no doubt, I believe you are doing an excellent job. So don't take it as me suggesting, just me thinking back to when I was going on wrecker calls with my dad and grandpa!
Chiron my name is Amber I live in Kansas City Missouri I have a six-year-old child I started watching your Channel because it reminded me of the show Highway Thru Hell a little bit we just went through a wreck in October and watching some of your videos actually makes me pretty happy that we actually made it out alive did our car did not go off anywhere else but we were completely spun all the way around into on facing traffic in during rush hour
Snatch and grab at it's best. Plus, they both looked clean enough to have insurance so you get paid. Great working relationship with the police when they sweep while you are chaining up!
I had to chuckle with this video.. Here in Wisconsin, that is normal every day winter.. LOL In fact, that ain't even winter.. that just a dusting for us, ice and all..
Prayers sent for the driver. God was certainly watching over both drivers, since that was a full tank of gas in the Dodge there! Could've been catastrophic. I ask God to watch over you, your crew, and anyone working the roadways as well. Sad part of this whole thing is, this could've been easily prevented, had he spent the money for some snow tires, or even stock Dodge wheels & stock tires. The second I saw those wheels, the lightbulb went off - I know exactly how that happened. Those low profile tires have no business on the roadways in winter! They're great in Phoenix or Orlando, but only for 3 seasons in the snow belt. I learned this the hard way myself as a youngster. A friend of mine owned a garage when I was in my teens, and he'd give me the low profile used tires from the scrap pile that came off of Volvos and Saabs for free, and I'd mount them on my '85 Monte Carlo. In just ONE snow storm, I hit a tree, a telephone pole, and slid off the road TWICE! I had ZERO traction in any kind of snow! Learned a valuable lesson that day!! Bald, stock-sized tires were 100x better than those wide, low profile ones.
Dangerous territory to be working. Someone was watching over the occupants of those two vehicles for sure. Stay safe out there ron.... I feel someone is watching over you too. Edit: Stay safe to all of the team.
Could have been a lot worse considering that hit. So how much HiViz green does your crew go through in a year? When I got out we had just started using the stuff and it was not fun getting it clean...
I've done 2 winters in Missouri....miserable....lol....basic training & NCO school @ Ft. Lost In The Woods........and 3 winters in Washington....cold and snow are why I'm a southern boy, lol...
Great video as always Ron, and my prayers everyone recovered fully. People don't realize how much impact and force there is even at slow speeds in an automobile accident. Assuming that both vehicles were traveling at 45 miles per hour that impact was like driving and slamming ones car/truck into a cement wall at 90mph! Slowing down when conditions are bad saves lives, but there is always some idiot who thinks they are the world's greatest driver who go speeding along way faster than what is safe and risking everyone's lives because they think saving 5 mins is worth it......dumb
According to Mythbusters episode of testing a former test where one thought the same where two vehicles colliding at the same speed say 40 for a combines 80 mph impact was found during a retest that physics proved that to be wrong, this was just what happens at 45 mph since the truck went sideways and the car hitting it was going that fast then this is what you get from the physics perspective. If you think you are still right I suggest you look it up, not even I thought this precept and understood how the physics work when two hitting head don at 45 or 40 each would not equate to those two speeds adding up to what you see. If it was a 90 mph impact then it would have been much worse.
Lucky people for sure. I saw a truck hit the same way and not as much damage and driver was killed on impact. Please people slow down. Whatever you are going to will wait. God bless you sir.
How in the world are y'all STILL getting snow up there??? I was wearing shorts last week down here in Georgia Ron. Another successful and safe recovery. I'm not sure why these videos are so entertains to watch but somehow they are, keep them coming👍👍👍
This was actually a job from January. Some of my videos can't be posted immediately after filming for multiple reasons. We've moved into our rainy season now. 40's-50's and rain....constantly it seems. Had heavy storms and hail Saturday. And it is raining currently. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Plastic tank so more abrasion resistant than a thin metal one which can puncture more easily. That aside it was sliding on wet possibly icy roadway. I would not drag it for too far if it was me but not much you can do to remove it safely on the road side either, why you keep it attached to prevent possible spilling and subsequent clean up time and costs.
Prayers always for you Ron, Tylon and the rest of your co, workers, and for all your customers that have road troubles may they escape any accidents with as little injuries as possible, In Christ name!. And I pray and hope that everyone would take defensive driving course and learn to slow down in bad weather, near heavy traffic, and stop texting and calling on the cells phones.
