Snow vs Scan - PSL Season 1 

I like this audio level. You can hear distinct effects, like buildings warping in, but yourcommentary is perfectly audible over the previous casters.

snow is getting PTSD of when he thought he was fighting artosis, and it was scan who was playing.

Gotta say, I'm grateful for the BW casts, Artosis, always a highlight of my day. It was weird to watch BW without the game sound, so personally I prefer having it even with the Korean casters commentating. With or without the Kor commentary, though, I'll watch professional BW casted by you either way.

This style audio is muuuuuuuuuuuuch better than silence, after a few mins I forgot there were even K-broadcasters going in the back. Having any gamesounds at all is nice! Thank you for doing this Mr. Toesis!

I liked the korean casters in the background. Added some extra enthusiasm to it. Great cast arty

The Audio was great. In the first minutes it was a bit annoying hearing the Korean audio track in the background, but after while I got used to it and only heard Artosis and the game sounds. Good Job Arty!

This was the best match so far. Personally I like both version of audio, for me the mainpoint is to hear your commentary, which as S tier as usually.

I don't feel like the audio adds much since it honestly just sounds like a audience track from a sitcom with "oooooh" and "aaaaah" as things happen like i was watching Big Bang Theory or some shit. I assume people just wanted to hear the unit sounds and game music which we can't given how loud the casters balanced their audio. Also, Zerg is so HYPE!

Looking forward to these games all week, much thanks Arty and to PSL! This audio format is $. commentator reactions add to the hype, and ofc game sounds (though quiet) are nice.

If other folks like this audio set up, I'm all for it. Personally I couldn't hear any of the game audio, only the Korean casters.

I'm sorry to see that this tournament so far hasn't been doing especially well in views. I don't generally watch a lot of your content where the game is going on live, mostly watch your replay content, but this one has been rather pleasant so far, the first video on the tournament especially got me to break from watching my typical content format. As for the audio, I personally do think you balanced the Korean commentary with your own quite well when it comes to volume, but I prefer the previous videos where the game and commentary audio was absent. I haven't finished this video yet so it might grow on me, but that's my first impressions as I'm watching this match.

Artosis I just love hearing your words and thoughts about the pro games. It's giving me a lot of tips as a casual player. So in game sound or just you talking is good either way! 👍 Keep up the awesomeness.

I like the korean commentary/sound effects underneath your voice for sure. Even if I can faint StarCraft 1 sounds in the bg, its enough for me to feel like Im in the battle

Man sc1 pro games are something else, compared to sc2 where you mostly see one giant army moving back and forth in sc 1 the movement looks so much better

Regarding the audio it's the korean cast that can fix this and it should be quite easy just by splitting audio channels. Pretty disappointing if they don't.

Having the replay with only ingame audio would be perfect, not sure how much I like the sound in background. Maybe having race specific music running at like 10-15% of your voice in the background would be nice? The caster talking can be distracting but that depends on the volume.

I had to turn down the audio on the video because Arty's commentary was too loud. At that volume, I couldn't really hear the game sounds anymore. The previous format with just Broodwar music and Arty's commentary is my preference.

I prefer the previous videos with no sound/Korean commentary.

I can't hear sound nor music. This is definitely worse than the previous setup in which we at least had music. Edit: That third game Snow read Scan perfectly. It wasn't just skill gap diffrence it was brilliant mind reading.

The audio is slightly better than utter silence, though hearing the korean is a bit distracting. In the end, it’s slightly better. PSL is superior content - all casted games are good, but added context is king. The first casts crashing a little with your SSL cast could explain the numbers.

I prefer no KR commentary and just having music, but it's not a deal breaker for me either way. Thanks for the casts!

@artosiscasts I think the game sounds could be louder. The Korean is easy to tune out and the hype does add some ambiance :). Also what a great series. Rooting for both Scan and Snow, hard to watch these two favorites go at it against each other

I can pretty much only hear the announcers so I mean, I'm not sure it's worth having any audio, but somehow, I still prefer it. First few minutes were annoying but it got easier to listen to.

Hi Arty, cant really hear the game sounds any better, even with them actually existing (apparently). I found the Korean commentaries distracting at first, but got used to it. I preferred the audio for the previous 3 games, not ideal, but better than really lame game sounds with foreigner commentary. GG! Shame Scan got pumped. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Snow vs Scan such a nice match! I don't mind the korean audio but the in-game as to be so low I don't think it adds much, the previous casts with game music were also fine. The best would be clean audio without the casters for sure! PSL please.

Yeah not having game audio is a big miss, but the korean commentary in the background is more distracting. We will just have to hope there will be a clean feed soon.

Audio feedback: Instead of music the only background sound is now the korean commentators, can't really hear sound effects from the game. Does remind me of old BW casts though, so I rather like it. Maybe try making the korean sound track a bit louder?

I miss the ingame sound which i cannot hear in this recording, like when a pylon is building. however the random korean in the background does not add anything positive for me.

Honestly can’t hear game sounds at all still. But reminds me of gomtv days when you could hear the casters in the background.

Seems like I'm in the minority about this, but I really don't care about game sounds that much. I'm primarily here to listen to your commentary. I didn't even notice the missing audio in the last few videos.

Really appreciate you taking the feedback and trying this another way. I watch pretty much 100% of your casts, but I completely gave up on muted PSL. It just doesn't work at all for me. I watch while studying, and I need the audio to know what's happening while I'm not staring at the screen. Even planting mines, pylons being made, missile turret shots and whatnot. I look up when the action happens, and then pay close attention while you narrate dramatic moments. The Korean audio here isn't a deal-breaker for me, but I'm not sure the in-game sound is really loud enough to quite get what I want there. I do enjoy being able to hear something while watching the screen, but I have to listen carefully to distinguish. I'd personally call this an improvement, and will give this format a longer shot. But I see why others don't like it. I wonder if there might be vocal remover software (like used for karaoke) that would let you boost the sound effects. Maybe impractical. In any case, hoping for the best and thanks for the casts.

Still could not hear the game audio, just the Koreans yelling lol The quality of the matches makes it still worth it. Don’t be discouraged by people complaining. If you could be added as an observer, that would obviously be ideal.

I will always prefer the match audio, it is so empty watching the match without the sound.

At first, I didn't like the Korean commentary in the background, but after couple of minutes it stopped bothering me. I preferred this. I guess with just the music playing, the background sounds a little dead. Hearing some of the game audio and the Korean commentary makes it sound livelier.

Sound balance doesn't seem bad, but I don't think there's anything to be done for it. I like hearing the casters because Muse is a damn prince. But that's just me.

hey buddy, i've been watching pro sc since the days where TL was just collecting vods from msl and osl, and while I haven't watched your last few days of vids, cause i've had stuff to do, i think the audio is way too low and i can't hear the korean commentators at all so here's the question i had for you, you lived in korea for long i assume you understand decent korean, would there be any way you could tell us the jist of what they're saying and tri-cast with them? because these dudes are like the mexican soccer commentators where everything they say is hype. just an alternative strat to doing this, maybe. edit: now that i finished watching the video, the other videos were totally muted? no dude, that's the exact opposite of what you should be doing. when these dude scream EE HAN TIMING, you should be screaming THIS ONE TIMING with them!

I think it is an upgrade to what you usually do. I'd pay a bit so you can make and arragement to move yourself the camera. I think all is frustrated without you moving it.

Scan seemed to have a good marco at 1st game, but then on the 2nd and 3rd he showed the signs of over confidence with mech meta, like Zerg with luker and defilers' prejudice. He should have better air defense against such a super heavy-micro shuttle player like Snow

For the first minute or two the casters were as annoying as the sound effects were helpful, but very quickly I tuned out the casters and I think the sound setup is much preferable to the first three.

I've always liked being able to hear the Korean casters in the background, their excitement at certain parts of the game add a layer ontop of the cast. I can't understand them so it isn't distracting otherwise.

I think I preferred just the music. This is ok too, but it doesn't really add anything besides the commentary in Korean at the back

Sound was good either way. I slightly prefer having their commentary present. Their oooohs and ahhhs were a fun addition. The balance is perfect, with your voice coming through clearly.
