This movie is a good example on how to make a kick ass female character done right. She kicks ass, takes names, the lead villain is also a woman, but there's no chest thumping "I'm a girl!" and no male bashing. This is how you make a movie with a strong female lead.

No male bashing? Dude, she literally becomes the villain because her mother cast a spell giving her unbelievable beauty to stop her from being murdered by the soldiers raiding their village. However she had presumably been kept as a sex slave as she is chained up in rags inside a locked wagon and cowers when King Magnus opens the door.

One of the few "feminist power fantasy" movies I genuinely liked. It felt like it came from a good place like, "let's make Snow White again but with an action emphasis". Both movies are really fun, never great, but really fun.

Yeah. I'm normally all for colorblind casting. I thought it was dumb when people hated on the little mermaid for casting a black woman over all the perfectly legitimate reasons for hating the little mermaid. But when a character's white skin is in the title, casting someone with dark skin is just performative and stupid. She doesn't necessarily have to be white in the racial sense, but casting someone with a pale complexion should be the bare minimum casting requirement. They could have at least made her look paler with lighting like they did with Jenna Ortega in Wednesday.

Ravaenna says she can't be defeated by Snow White. When she literally could, for it was stated that only by fairest blood it can be undone. Seems like two other warriors survived with The Huntsman and William. So hot Snow White is in armor like some other female characters in armor.

Loved the movie (watched countless times) but couldn't believe the poor ending, very very disappointing!!! Kristen should have ended up with Chris (the kiss prior, to break the spell should have sealed the deal). Kristen should have run down the aisle and hugged and kissed Chris at the end! Loved Kristen in this movie. Should never have been another movie! The music was also awesome . . .

to anyone who likes this movie I HIGHLY recommend giving a chance to Snow White a Tale of Terror (1997), which in my opinion is the definitive film version of Snow White, and one which this version stole allot from. I do appreciate the beautiful sets, wardrobe and CGI effects here, but I honestly do believe the 97 version to be better in acting, script, and casting, so give it a go!
