Gal Gadot spoke to ‘Extra’s’ Katie Krause at D23 Expo 2022 about becoming the Evil Queen in the live-action ‘Snow White’ remake, plus her kids’ funny reactions to the role!
I find it hilarious that she will be the evil queen jealous on the beauty of the snow white despite the fact that most people would agree that she is one of the hottest women on the planet.
I love Gal Gadot but the more I hear her and that Rachel talk about how "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is outdated and 85 years old, I want to puke. This so called "remake" will be long forgotten while the classic 1937 original will remembered forever.
I mean they did make a point. Snow White was a product of its time. But yes, the original classics will be remembered forever. I think this remake is just an opportunity to reintroduce the story to a new generation while adding a modern twist to it.
stupid comment, times change and you can´t romanticize sexism anymore, little girls need to see content showing that they don´t depend on men, we are not in the 30s anymore dude
"She's not gonna be saved by the prince." lol how in hell is that a good thing? First it breaks the whole point of the tale, second bc its idiotic as hell for people to act like a girl needing help from a literal impossible situation (aka, a fucking sleeping curse) makes said girl weak. Geez.
times change, when the story was first written women solely depended on men and that was the message little girls had to learn, now that times are different they needed to adapt and change it a bit so that little girls know they can fend for themselves
@@gracieloufreebush4899 Karen? Lol This revolution story is nothing new. There are other 2 movies with the same plot. Besides, people enjoy fairy tales once in a while. Stories with silly romances and happy endings. Snow White point is a girl being saved by true love. Self sufficient? She was a fucking slave. A victim. She did what she could do, and it good to show kids that, many times, there are things we cannot do by ourselves. Women don’t need to wield a sword to be strong.
So, it's perhaps not surprising that Gadot has strong opinions on the topic of feminism. The actress - who had almost given up on her film career when she landed Hollywood's most badass female role - believes anyone who is not a feminist is by default sexist. "People always ask me, 'Are you a feminist?'" Gadot tells Rolling Stone, in a new interview out this month. "And I find the question surprising, because I think, 'Yes, of course. Every woman, every man, everyone should be a feminist. Because whoever is not a feminist is a sexist.'"
I’m sure it’ll do fine, but this is a tale from more then 200 years ago. If they’re going to crowbar contemporary social norms, they should just create a new story. Same with Sleeping Beauty & Rapunzel. That’s not to say I agree with the portrayal of women (specifically the lead), but by making her a ‘strong, independent woman,’ you’re rewriting history.
I agree. Are they going to set Snow White in the 21st century? If not, I don't see how she can call the story "dated" because the Disney movie was made, and again not set, in the 1930s. Also, this is the story of ONE young woman who longs for a prince and who is "saved" by a prince. Other women can and do have other dreams, hopes, and wishes.
