Its understandable when she cant really explain it. A lot of slangs are obviously culture-related. Slangs are national inside-jokes

@@itayschool4544 as an Israeli, I really don't think she did. If I wasn't Israeli I wouldn't understand. There are parallels in English to almost every slang phrase in hebrew she reviewed, that's the best way to explain it.

Tachles exists in German, too. We spell it like Tacheles and it means the exact same. We use it like this: "You need to talk Tacheles to him" as in "you need to stop beating around the bush and just tell him how things are - straight to the point" I know there are similarities between the languages, because they influenced each other but that was a surprise
@Jumbolix
@Jumbolix 2 года назад
Because it's neither Hebrew nor German, it's Yiddish. Both language tribes have just adopted it. Further examples based on a sentence: Wenn du ausgekocht bist und im Beisel mit einer duften und kessen Schickse schmust und ein Techtelmechtel hast, das Kaff es sieht und es deiner Ische mauscheln, dann hast du mit deiner Mischpoke Zoff und hockst im Schlamassel Now guess what all of it is Yiddish? 😆
