Probably one thing that not many people aware of, her normal skill deals a ton of damage if you can lay them near to your enemy. Think it as a minelayer. Also her normal skill dodge is absolutely critical for the mech boss. One normal skill is like 22k damage, and you can spam like 6 at full skill gauge.
I wrote to CS about the poor performance of Katya, i suggest you guys do the same if you guys care. I hope they can make her stronger with some feedback.
gonna be honest.. this Katya feels like a hard miss right now for me. She isn't the aux dps i first hoped she'd be, playing with her didn't feel great, i have the other Katya i like more with a weapon type i actually like, and I got burned out on skill DPS in general (though Katya's more of a hybrid) by Agave last patch. when i also have to say that Agave at least fufilled me getting everyone in the base, but Katya doesn't? Im... pretty fine skipping here.
@@heilmany that's more than fair in my eyes. my commentary on this Katya may change based on possible buffs and more in depth calculations, but if i just can't get my head around her playstyle, I just do not see the point to pull for her, even if she's great. after feeling like i underestimated the downsides of a skill build, I just don't feel this one.
@heilmany her playstyle is fast gun play. The crystal veins can act as mines. They hit pretty hard. The problem is aurora charge. I Haven't played enough to realize an efficient way to make Katya hit big damage quickly. The crystal veins provide extra effects besides aurora charging.
@@imjustaguy1234 yeah I’m basically spamming the Crystals then shoot, and I get OCD wanting it to always be 12 stacks which is a me problem… having Lyfe IS brainrot doesn’t help too since Lyfe is very frontloaded, and Katya seems to need time to ramp up. Spam all the E then ult seems to work tho, but it really feels clunky having to E again before losing the crystal stacks while shooting
I am skipping her and focusing on my current operatives. I did get another copy of Fenny SS this morning. I do wish we could purchase the new swimsuits for Acacia and Fritia we see in the story.
@@antonin2478she is the best support for characters that focus on gun damage rather than skill damage (or ballistic damage is what it’s called) she makes a lot of older gun dps characters come back up to the tier they were before
@@antonin2478 echoing what Antonin said. she takes older characters, especially Shotgun ballistic DPS, and makes them far smoother and stronger to use.
Fenny Starshine is amazingly solid for most ballistic DPS that have to reload. if you have access to getting her, and especially if you spring for her squad and Sig, she can make Fenny Coronet and chenxing ethereral cloud sing to meta competitive levels against several bosses in particular, and rejuvenates nearly every shotgun operative by extension due to her ammo support system helping the shotgun builds. in your position knowing what id know, I also tend to favor collecting Supports, so i say go with Starshine if your new to the game, because she can really be more helpful in the longer run. that said, im biased against this Katya personally, so if your a Katya fan go after her. end of the day meta contention is a higher bar than most of the game requires so you should only listen to that if you seriously care. you will do fine with Waifu over game. another thing to point out is if you can wait and don't have her, we will be getting a rerun later for Siris Ksana. a similar kind of DPS to Katyas, but considered in the top 3 across the entire game currently, and the easiest to use in her damage niche.
Fenny definitely you should pull. She is the best ballistic DPS support. As for Katya, it really depends on you like her play style, or wait for other DPs characters to rerun.
@@WardenMobileGaming Yes warden thanks for the advice I'll pull for starshine as sub dps which will support me in long run bcz my ultimate dps will be lyfe infinite sight
@@mohammedyusuf855 A very solid choice- the characters who benefit the most from Fenny Starshine are Lyfe IS and Fenny Coronet (to the point the free level 5 given is recommened to be Coronet if you have Starshine), but you can honestly put her in with Hybrid DPS as well as any ballistic. some of the main comps for Neural simulation i see aboslutely dominating my times are Lyfe IS+ Starshine Fenny+ another character, often Shadow Ka.
If u play with pc, the answer is yes. Because A free Marian is coming soon😂. Though playing new Ketya is a little bit tired... I guess she would be t0 or t1 character because she is the one who saved Snowbreak😂😂😂
If you currently don't have any good DPS character then the new Katya is a good choice but if you want to wait for banner reruns for the Top DPS characters then you can do that as well. Lyfe wild hunt can still be a good DPS character but she is in the middle of the pack in terms of damage, meaning average.
I was thinking If It would be better to get Fenny Starshine instead. Im saving my SSR selector given by the game to choose a character that would help me do the game challeges. Another option is to get Katya and use Lyfe Wild Hunt as a support. But thank you two for the tips
It's a strange play style. Haven't gotten too in depth with it. It feels to me her standard skill needs placement. Your basically dashing and placing crystals veins. The crystals act as turrets, aurora charge, & mine explosion. You either force yourself to play close range, mid-range, or evasive type fighting. Surrounding enemies with crystal veins and continously shooting enemies to activate aurora charge.
The problem i Haven't solved is making continuous damage. The crystal veins feel lackluster to activate aurora charge. Compared to her original exosuit+crossbow, she still hits hard. It's just awkward. Feels a little more time-consuming to create big damage. Nevertheless, dawnwing can be considered a skill dps.
I find her fun to use mainly because of her skill rotation but the damage is not as high as I'd like. I'm hoping that M3 would at least give her the boost that she needs
@Budetto so far the devs still make it standard in my opinion, M3 (manifestation) is the minimum for every operative to play effectively at the standard level
