The same preparedness should be followed in any mountainous region or even remote non mountainous areas. Even a couple of miles can be a very long way if things go bad.

Just had my second visit to the area, fished Llyn Gamallt a few weeks ago, didn't have a touch but they were feeding and fixated on something. Went to Llyn Cwmorthin today, plenty of tugs and 1 beautifully marked Brownie about 9 ounces. Llyn Morwynion next i think.

Lovely! We are going to Caernarfon in July and I hope to get a couple of hours with my 5'9" 2-weight fiberglass rod in a troutstream. If not we will at least experience the scenery...

Alright mate, would you recommend lure fishing at lakes such as these, I’m going next week and don’t have a fly rod as of yet, so was thinking about doing a bit of spinning? My parents bought a cottage in Dolgellau recently so going to explore the various fishing spots, Many thanks
