In the end, he accomplished his goal of being “free from all of it”. But instead of it being the dream he always wanted, it turned into the nightmare that he feared the most.
He's " free from it all" by his own definition, yet he's destroying himself. I guess by his own terms? I guess some people would call that freedom. One thing for sure. In this whole series he was aware of people's delusion but he's not aware of his own self-delusion.
He lost so much that he even lost any value to the CIA. It is ironic that he repeated the fate of his father, whom he despised most of all. Great finale.
They probably were calling him tho; making him look more crazy than what he was feeding into his paranoia and alcoholism. That’s what you call psychological warfare. Best way to discredit someone is to make them look crazy. Now nobody will believe him
The realist thing about this scene is how drug addicts will always have something wild pr funny to say but they also have moments of soberness that will leave you broken. Damson nailed that feeling. The emotion you get when someone is asking for help but not directly asking for it is insane.
This is ending was so raw. I could only imagine what Leon was feeling. Walking up to Cissy’s house seeing the dump it has become. Then seeing Franklin probably destroyed him. I give it to Leon for coming back and offering to help Franklin. He kept his cool & didn’t disrespect Franklin. Even after all of Franklin’s insults. But I mean Franklin was in no position to be insulting anyone given the circumstances. Franklin’s last words will always stay with me. “I’m free. My fuckin way! Not yours. Not theirs”. Then just for a split second you can see the old Franklin when he looks Leon in his eyes and says “Your my best friend. The best friend I ever fuckin had. And I’m fuckin proud of you”. Man that brought a tear to my eye. Money brings the worst out of people. Franklin had it all. Had real wealth. Had family that actually loved him. And lost it all. No family. No money. Literally walked off, down the street heading no where. Snowfall is a masterpiece.
The old Frank came out one last time to tell Leon that he was free and that Leon was his best friend and he was proud of him and even sheded a tear while saying that. It was like the old frank came back to deliver one last message before he disappears for ever !!!😢
It's a tragic ending, but Franklin deserved it. Franklin and Leon, both grew up together and did terrible things. Leon redeemed himself whereas Franklin destroyed himself. Go figure.
What are u talking about you didn't feel bad for him the guy was suffering ! After he tried to do it the American way go to college and pursue his dreams because he was black on a scholarship that was taken causing him to be the darkest part of himself just to achieve his goal but the very thing he wanted ended up being his downfall how would u not the dude was self destructing the minute he was kicked out of college
I knew as soon as he took that first sip of alcohol that this was going to be the ending. Alcoholism was in his blood and he wound up just like his pops
His pops still had fam and the streets from the good work he did as a Panther. Franlkin destroyed his community, his family, and himself. Big difference.
@@justinhumphrey1516 I mean at the End Franklin won his freedom so i wouldnt say he Destroyed himself.. and Family nah lol Franklin never destoyed his family it was his own people who turned their backs on him. First Louie Wanting to start her own side of the business . Cissy never helping franklin,
Yo-Yo won because he never got greedy. He never talked about expanding or doing backstabbing things like Louie. He was content with his position in the projects. The CIA didn't care about the projects.
That's a great point if VIEW. All Leon had was the projects and their was already problems their so Leon couldn't get greedy. Plus he poured back into the projects
i’m sure that’s why bro💀 there’s multiple shows that revolve around african americans that have been nominated and won Emmys and Golden Globes, don’t be a sped ngga💀
His pops still had fam and the streets from the good work he did as a Panther. Franlkin destroyed his community, his family, and himself. Big difference.
The best part of this scene is Franklin telling Leon “I’m fuckin proud of you” even after Franklin lost it all, his money, his wife, His family and friends, he still had the heart to let it be known that all he wanted was for everyone to win, but in the end he was the one who took the biggest lose. Amazing show!
Sad asl it ended that way but Franklin ain’t do none but dig his self a hole that kept getting deeper because HIS pride and every decision he made, which led him to where he at now
This scene will NEVER be easy to watch. Franklin's fall from grace was incredibly heartbreaking. I will say this though. Leon stuck by his friend's side and offered to help him; you can tell it hurt him a lot to see his brother like that.
No he didnt. Leon literally let him drown and came back later to see if he could save his body 😂😂 Thats bullshit. Leon could have split that 3mil with Franklin and Franklin would have paid him back 10 fold
@@Mrfantastic92you got to understand from leons point, he knew franklin was lost already and would willingly do anything for money. He really wanted to help and the end but knew franklin was a lost case.
@adrianreyes6671 If he really wanted to help he wouldn't have waited till Franklin was down bad, he could've offered money and advice as his "bestfriend" Franklin was always there for Leon, no matter what dumb shit Leon did, and Leon did alot of dumb shit.
@adrianreyes6671 Who? Franklin? Not true. Whatever happened to everyone happened because of their fuck up's. The only thing I can argue that Franklin was responsible for was dragging Leon into his Skully and manboy beef
Saint destroy himself He was greedy. Five to ten million and I would have walk away bought me some land built me a house and started a business down south And I don't wanna here that bullshit about once your in the game you can't get out. After I left whoever wanted my spot could have happy have it. Fact's fact's
but saint tried to leave and look what teddy did to him teddy set him up at the banks so he could rob him from the start no matter what saint was gonna end up robbed by teddy
@michaellong6089 It's true. Alton told Franklin this is exactly what was going to happen. He and Andre did warned Franklin about Teddy, and the drug dealing business.
Bro lol you must have not been in the Real Game to Understand once you in there is no out..... You must have been selling some Ice cream to kids thats why the next one up is happy to take your spot..
Look I got love for Franklin like the rest of ya but tbh the show couldn't have ended any other way.🤷🏿♂️ He did too much dirt, betrayed his own morals and in the end was willing to give what or whoever for profit. Saint was his own worst enemy and became the spitting image of a man he despised most of his life, his father. Very poetic.
@@earthdw3ll3rI guess you didn’t pay attention to the first two episodes of season 6…half of that money was already gone because he payed top notch to find Peaches
It shows how a fkd up world we’re already born into influences us. Remember in Season 1 his Mom told him he had to “step up” after that job fires him. She was going to kick her son out if it came down to it, Franklin was kinda forced to be a drug dealer. He staying in the ghetto, gang violence, shootings, deep rooted family trauma, police brutality, poverty, racism, systematic oppression etc and all of that was shown in Season 1 before he even got deep into the game. This show shows how even tho these people aren’t perfect you gotta understand where somebody come from influences their lives.
Not rly. This ending was absolutely stupid, why tf would Cissy kill Teddy right before he gave Franklin the money? It's so dumb. What's also dumb is the fact that she was even there, why tf would he bring his mom to meet with cia agents to make that drop? Makes no sense. Also why would he even bring his mom (the most moral person on the show) into the safehouse at all?
In my opinion, this was a happy ending. Franklin didn't die, he didn't leave rich and have to forever look over his shoulder. He's free! He doesn't have to worry about protecting his family, the drug game, or the CIA. He can one day clean up like his father, then who knows!
Franklin is more far gone than his father was. At his lowest, Alton was still redeemable. He was still there consciously. He still had enough of "him" in him to be pulled back in mentally and saved. Franklin though, at this point is gone. He's too far gone to find; mentally. His addiction to the bottle is faaaar worse off than his dad's was.
@@jchappelleh😭 people don’t get that that’s why he didn’t turn around he used his last ounce of consciousness to say “I’m proud of you” . Plus the dad was just a piece of shit but he didn’t destroy lives like Franklin did he just wasn’t a family man and sucked as a dad. He also still had somewhere to stay
He's " free from it all" by his own definition, yet he's destroying himself. I guess by his own terms? I guess some people would call that freedom. One thing for sure. In this whole series he was aware of people's delusion but he's not aware of his own self-delusion.
He Aint Need That Money, God Had To Strip Him So Frank Can Deal With His Heart. Leon Also Has This Connection Of Karma To Live With The Memory Of Franklin In This Manner.
Franklin only down fall was still being naïve when having his family involved in his drug business one thing real drug dealers don’t do is involve their family cause you don’t wanna get caught up or you’ll never know if one of them is a snake he thought he had everything controlled but he didn’t and I understand why Leon didn’t help him because he have to give him that tough love if he didn’t he’ll be back when he started again Franklin gotta find his own way either get back in motion or die a bum/crackhead
see if u watched that series from episode one this scene will make u shed a tear..to see how low franklin has fallen in his life and u see his relationship with leon from day one all of this together just strikes a cord…
Literally everybody that franklin delt with all had a hand wit his down fall even tho he gave em jobs when he ain't really have too he could have did it wit Leo and acouple others that he trusted franklin gon always be the goat fr
0:51 💔😥😥😥 man they did him really bad when all he wanted to do is be able to provide for his family and Franklin had everything in control till his family mess everything up thats why some drug bosses keep they family away from the business so they dont get caught up...they just take care him i was hoping everything work out with him....series teach me alot though
@@papaadot9369 but franklin wouldn't be the type of guy to just give in after a massive loss. There was no way to ever get that money back, but there are always more ways of making money. Him drowning his pain and sorrow in alcohol and drugs is unrealistic for someone as conscientious and intelligent as him.
Still crazy how frank stood 10 toes for everyone, right or wrong he never turned his back on them and left them alone, yet when he lost it all everyone left him alone. SMH
Every time I watch this scene I train myself to not cry or tear up. I fail every time. What you’re seeing is the reality of the black community. Before drugs Franklin neighborhood was like the black Wall Street. No gang/drug violence. Then BOOM crack hit the communities and took off.
I don’t know about you, guys… but If I was Leon, mayyyyybe I would’ve let Franklin move in to my house??? And then gave him new clothes? Some money for a haircut and then took him to rehab?? Or a hypnotherapist so that he can be his old self before things went downhill? I know that Franklin’s not a good guy but… I don’t know 😂
I would love to have been your friend. You are right I mean Leon tries and Frank gives up but you could try even more and then you can let him be. You real g
But the Godfather, and Goodfellas and etc gets syndicated, nominated, multiple category noms, trophies, and played every holiday. It’s what they call a cult (culture) classic; with the killing, the corruption, the blackmailing, the bribing, rigging, even the with derogatory language, racist language, and political infiltration They keep showing it and showing them love, paying them residuals. It’s not fair, it’s just favoritism. Here’s my advice, rig everything for you to win.
What’s also sad is I think Franklin is on the rock too, he is missing teeth and the rest are black/yellow, I finished snowfall an hour ago and I’m fckn depressed now, everything that started from season 1 to just all crumble and end like this 😪
The Wire, Breaking Bad, and The Sopranos are better shows, BUT none of them had an ending as good as this, not even Breaking Bad. This got to the heart of the character. "You make a motherfucker die breathing then you saying something" - Jay Z
Bruh I finished this 2 days ago I know exactly what happened and how the show ended and this shit still messed me up I’m sad asf but that’s the only way it should’ve ended
@@papaadot9369 no he clearly was, his love interest talked him into it and he agreed and was done negating Franklin, he was going to give the money back without a doubt but cissy couldn't let Alton go so she shot him before he could do it
