Let’s take a step back and look at this though. The Tayga is one of, if not the best truck in the game. With its long lasting fuel tank, attachment adapt ability, and incredible grip in all terrains make it an unstoppable tool to have. The fact the ANK kept up with it on every single test just shows that while a bit slower, the ANK is still a very capable truck. Furthermore we all know that putting it in auto and flooring it, while great for testing purposes, is not the best way to punch through terrain. I’d wager that actively using the low modes and high would yield greater results in both trucks. Unfortunately that would invalidate most testing.
This video appeared in my suggested videos. Never played this game but I do have a "ANK MK38" aka m939 series truck sitting in my driveway. 1990 M923A2 to be exact. Cummins NH250 came in the early models then switched to the Cummins 6CTA8.3 in the 88-91 model years. The latter engine is turbocharged vs naturally aspirated NH250, thus giving the truck the same 240hp rating but instead of 685 ft-lb of torque, it bumped it up to 745 ft-lb. All the while giving the truck 1-2 better mpgs. I've personally loaded 9000lbs of rock on the back of my truck and taken it up a 23% grade on my property with pedal to the floor and it actually downshifted into second halfway up the 80ft driveway. With that said I find the mud comparison "MK38 only stayed in first gear" a bit awkward. Also the m939 series trucks came with several different variants to include cranes, semi trailer 5th wheels, dump truck variants, van bodies, and cab chassis models that they put water tanks or anything else the army could dream of. The Tayga might be a better truck in this game but that's like expecting World of Tanks to be 100% honest about how strong a Russian tank is versus the NATO counterparts, historically. You all will let me know how off target I am for sure.
there are two variants of this truck in the game, one is military version (this one) and according to game the bed is fixed and can't be customized and the another one is civilian version which allows you to have a crane or van repair body etc
@@siaa7078 yes but the civilian version was added after this comment was written. 2 years ago when the game was new, you couldn’t get the civilian version.
Yeah it’s clear that the developers at Saber have a bias to favor Soviet and Russian trucks over American trucks, almost all of the American trucks seem to have a better Russian alternative to them in the game.
Ank is more thirsty with small fuel tank like the azov 5319 The Tayga is thirsty but has a bigger fuel tank The ank can't have variety of add-ons The Tayga can have a lot of add ons Ank is much lighter ,disadvantages in currents but it doesn't sink that deep in mud Tayga has advantage in currents cuz it is heavy and sinks deeper in mud cuz of weight again The Tayga is wider which means it's more stable but it can't fit through small gaps Ank is thinner which means less stable but it can fit through gaps Both are really fast but tayga is faster in harsher terrain Conclusion Tayga is more practical option and fun to drive it is also very capable The ank is also very capable but lacks some advantages other trucks have though it is also very capable After all it comes to personal preference A tip is if you are doing a short delivery the ank is a good choice but if the delivery is longer the Tayga is a beeter choice
ANK doesn't have better ground clearance it just has a higher body clearance. Ground clearance is from tires but they have the same tires so no difference
The mistake people seem to make with the ANK is raising the suspension, not all trucks are better with it. From my experience it actually performs better without raised suspension. When i raised it i noticed it just wanted to flip all the time and it also seemed to do worse in the mud so i switched back to the lower suspension because it so much better, yea it bounces a little but i have never had it flip or tip over and i really gun it because i'm impatient. The ANK CIV is also an extremely good early game truck because of how good it is as standard with out any upgrading and 75k is cheap for what it can do. Most of the other trucks need quite some upgrades before they can even come close to what the ANK can do as standard.
I love the ank. And I’ve never found it to be less stable than the tayga, because I don’t drive like a monkey, and it’s especially more stable with the tayga tires
@@SD1ONE yeah, this is true. I play primarily on the PTS, but haven’t messed with the new suspension yet. Keep up the great work! I would like to see royal vs ank ant some point 👍
2:38- 3:15 It would be great to see actual time passing on the screen. For example the fact that one vehicle wins doesn't really mean anything if it's only 5 seconds faster during 2 minute race.
Thanks for the vid, shows a lot Is there a chance to see a vid on how vehicles are packed on tráilers? And how it behave? It gets loose when it rolls? Sideboard bed & tráiler can be used to pack vehicles toó??
Well, It's still a beta so can't judge it too soon but I noticed that when you detach a trailer on a slope with truck packed on that trailer then truck tend to move forward as trailer is going backwards I mean truck's not moving with trailer when it's detached and moving...hope you're understanding what I am trying to explain as it's hard to explain in words
I recently found the ANK...Fine truck...but I like more versatility. I won't ever get did of it though. Always good informative videos. Peace all..tile the winch comes out.
As far as addon body stuff i feel like the studio got lazy with the ank and decided not to bother add it in I mean I've seen them with dump truck kits and trailer saddles
Having both the ank and the tayga I tend to use the tayga more for every day things but the ank if I'm expecting deep mud and swamps. It's all a matter of having the right tool for the job. Even if I have to trailer the ank on a lowboy.
For ank players try the v12 with the stock box I love it there is no high but the auto box makes up for it definitely worth a shot I believe it helps with fuel consumption to but I either run highway or stock box so I'm not sure on consumption imandra I ran stock box and never got stuck worth a shot. Maybe sd1 will compare it to off-road box aswell thank you have a good day
I like the ank better because it will go through anything I put it through but when I try putting the tayga through anything it won’t do it, it won’t haul uphill without the help of another truck, it can’t haul anything more then a few loads of wood otherwise it just has endless problems
has anyone realised that the horn on the ANK kinda sounds like the first note of that theme from dragon ball super that plays when they're about to fight 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Tayga is way too good. There is no reason not to use it 90% of the game, the slight exception being the missions where you need a Heavy or Heavy Duty truck. But Tayga can complete the game 100% with no issues. Even scouting, I use scouts because they are smaller and a bit more nimble but Tayga can still cover that role as well. And good lol.
Beide Trucks sind großartig. Der ANK ist der einzigste amerikanische Truck der annähernd mit dem Tayga auf Augenhöhe ist. Der Tayga oder russischer Kras-Truck ist mein Favorit.
Agreed, plus it tips over alot, plus it's small fuel tank. And if you use the S+ engine upgrade that fuel tank doesn't last long at all. I use the stock engine which still has enough power to do most things. But it has too many drawbacks. Which sucks, because I really like the ANK.
Так колёса разные стоят. На Тайге это тяжелые wheels_heavy_mudtires_tayga, а на ANK - средние wheels_medium_ank_mk38. На Тайге SubstanceFriction="2.4", а на АНК - 1,7. Вот он и сливает. Тут к разрабам вопрос - почему колёса с одинаковыми мешами, но с разными характеристиками.
First of All just my opinion, everybody can play as he/she like. Great Video but i would never put an offroad gearbox on a truck which already has permanently awd and diff lock. Use the biggest engines and the freeway gearbox. The trucks will be in high gear so damn fast that fuel consumption is less important, which is the biggest problem of the ANK. After all u r right, Tayga is more usefull but I prefer Ank.
One negative of the tayga which isn't a big deal is that it can't pull trailers if you have the spare tire and a flatbed not a real problem though since I basically never pop my tires more likely to break suspension than pop a single tire.
@@SD1ONE Im speaking about in high side of low gear. It's gotten most vehicles I've used through almost any muddy or snowy situation and prevents shifting like the automatic mode does. Shifting really destroys momentum and is terrible for offroading most of the time in this game.
shifting issue didn't matter in case of these trucks because they never get over 1st gear, tayga does shift in some tests but when it does it never downshift..so it doesn't matter much here
One thing I don't like about this game is the heavy Soviet bias that Saber seems to have. That's the only reason they nerfed the m939 so hard. This is one of those trucks that makes it justifiable to use mods to correct the weaknesses that should have never existed in. The same capability with more utility add-ons and a bigger fuel tank would really make it likely the best offroad American truck on the game. Soviet bias of this game is annoying at times. All thanks to balanced modders that fix a lot of the weaknesses Saber intentionally put on these trucks. Now American trust can finally have decent size tires and fuel tanks..
Tayga DESTROYS the ANK in these tests pretty thoroughly, and is more versatile with its selection of addons. But, even then, I think it would come down to personal preference.
Btw alltrrain tires and the tayga tires on the ank have the same mud capabilities the dually offroad tires r better in the mud then the tayga tires on the ank
I do not use the Tayga without its unique muds, but for the sake of testing, both should have used with chains in the stability test. An updated turning test would be also good, as wider tires change turning radius. Anyway, a good video regardless. What I gather from this is how good the Tayga is by far, since release and after a lot of improvements to other trucks, Tayga is still the King. I left it to rest on Lake Kovd but it jumped to action for the efing hardest map in the game Imandra as it is the only truck the "tweeked snow" doesn´t kill. Can anyone recommend me the best truck for the metal detector, I just realize have non of the list that can equip said module! haha
I think you mean where they can be found, check a website named maprunner, they've all info regarding trucks location, upgrade location and all other stuff.
In my case the tayga is the best truck in the game. Some say that the voron ae is better but i get better results with the tayga due that it has better mud tires than the ea
I prefer Voron AE just because of better ground clearance and crane + bed support, Tayga has those massive fuel tanks which can be a issue on big rocks sometimes but aside from that it's a beast of a truck
My opinion about ANK’s horn is about 4/10 & it’s wasn’t a good horn for this truck. Changes for the devs: Give the ANK a better horn like the gru-mobile from despicable me.
