Looks like the new Derry would be the new meta truck! 8x8 with 55" tires and switchable difflock, bed+crane+trailer combo, powerful engine, big tank, many addons... Even a roofrack! It has no annoying flaws made intentionally for "balance" purposes, which Saber loves to do.
Yeah man... It's the only truck to have those mudtires at 55" which makes it a beast. Most trucks that equip this are the Offroad Russians at 51" or 50" (max size) and this thing with the most powerful engine and able to get the crane trailer blablabla combo, it becomes a pick for alot of players probably. It's the versatile possible Derry you can get!!!
I tried both on the PTS and the development is quite amazing. The Derry went from meh to absolutely amazing. The bumper add-ons look superb as well and with the new engine it'll outpull anything I throw behind it. Also it looks cool. Only wish is the diff lock should be always on and AWD switchable, so its more like the Russian trucks but either way I really love it. The Zikz I like for the same reason as the Crocodile. Looks good, performs well even stock and is a nice, clasic trucks. I don't think its better than the Actaeon though, because that thing has active suspension and a offline winch. I use it to this day it never disappointed me. Though it's better than the Warthog. I agree the Croc is slightly better offroad, but this one is more versatile. Will definately be excited to get them soon when phase 9 drops
I’m so glad we have the 8x8 U.S military HEMTT (Heavy Expanded Mobile Tactical Truck) as a vanilla truck in Snowrunner!!!! There were modded versions of it before it came out in season 9. For those of you who don’t know, the Derry Special 15C-177 is based on the current generation 8x8 U.S military HEMTT A4, which is powered by the Caterpillar C15 4-stroke inline-6 Diesel engine, vs it’s previous A2 generation which is powered by the Detroit Diesel 8V92 2-stroke V8 Diesel engine.
The only problem with Derry I found is gearboxes. You can choose between a very slow gearbox or a faster one but without high gear, forcing you to use low gear/automatic gear which can be annoying when playing with friends
Well, derry looks very good and perform good, a real competitor to zikz 605r, but we shall see at release, zikz 605r is perfect for deep mud, deep snow & even ice like amur , rocks like in yukon, good Fuel consumption, good for refuell & repair, save others flip trucks so pretty much as an help /suport truck Derry with his adons, Fuel, Power, Will be great for trailers, a real competitor for azov 73210, but we shall see his manevrability in narrow plăces, Fuel consumption, stability, If its so Good as they show us, i Will buy season 9 :) Big Thanks for your work, keep it on!
yes...anything which is versatile might come handy in hard mode...although It doesn't support low sadle like most heavy trucks and all good semi-trailers are low sadle.
An excellent truck for Hardmode is you guessed it, that starter Azov beast. Which is very versatile and good fuel consumption, also goes anywhere capable even with STOCK tires. A youtuber did an Amur Hardmode stream with the Azov 64131, which is @nprovince
out of the two new trucks the Derry "Special" looks good and I look forward to trying it out when Phase 9 is finally released on consoles, only issue I have with it is the fact that when the water tank frame addon is used no trailers can be attached, why do the devs do this, luckily I know of at least two mod versions coming that will fix that, sad to say the Zikz is probably the type of truck I try once and never use again after (there seems to be at least one with each phase), once again hopefully a mod version will change that.
The purpose of those 4x4 trucks is either scouting or support truck and any one of them would do that with ease....also I didn't tested it with dually offroad tires which both warthog & Actaeon lacks.
@@SD1ONE I think their purpose is for small jobs/missions, but they are kind of the worst vehicles where small tires and poor stability come into play... But still they are very good trucks
@@SD1ONE man, those cars are MUST HAVE to be at such off-road game. Also Volvo C303, Luaz-969 and Mitsubishi Pajero/L200 could be a great addition to the game (of course, there exists a lot of mods, but i prefer official in-game vehicles...).

I think Derry special is more practical choice thanks to crane also the sadle sits higher on derry than zikz means trailers would not stuck as often as they would with zikz.
The Derry looks like it would compliment the 605R pretty well for Amur level craziness. Basically a new best truck that can use chain tires, since the 605R can't manage some of the ice hills in Amur with a heavy load and the 73210 even with the active suspension raised may hang up, and of course the 5319 has a tiny tank and guzzles fuel like a Kolob or Twinsteer.
@SD1ONE Yeah, but good when you need chain tires. Like when you have to switcheroo your trailers in Amur since the 605R can't get up the ice hills, but only the 605R can manage some snow/mud/rock sections with a heavy load
No, It's still PTS but It's on it's final stage....There're won't be much changes after this judging by the previous PTS releases...but if anything change I'll pin a comment down this video mentioning the changes.
I wish they start doing more German and American truck.There is enough russian truck that looks all the same and also Tatra 815 would be nice in real life this truck beating russian trucks, at least what I saw on the Internet
I have the feeling that all trucks of Snowrunner would need to be rebalanced. Especially a truck like "Pike" is way too powerful for its size, whereas the massive Kolob should outperform Pike.
@@pqhkr2002 I’m saying it would be a monster if it had the same engine as the Derry, not the way it is now, however it certainly has its uses, I use it as a medium log truck due to its stability but I’ve used it as a fuel truck, for chained tires to go through the roads in Alaska and Amur, also as a long maintenance addon rescue truck. It’s a decent mid range heavy that’s really fun to drive
@@mathieuedde1465 Yeah, I know what you mean. But I think despite with Derry engine, it's still just average among Russian big 6 wheelers, not enough to be a monster. I used to try to let it have a heavy crane then tow a 4-slot trailer, but I feel it's just barely enough to climb mountain with crane, when with trailer, it will stall. I also tried to let it be a rescue truck with utility add-on, still, just barely enough to carry the add-on around, not enough towing power to recover a heavy truck. If only for repair and fuel, I prefer to use F750 or a tanker with service trailer.
@@pqhkr2002 it definitely would not be average, the engine the new Derry has outputs more power than the 530 which powers the Kolobs. Think about how powerful the kolobs are now imagine a truck that’s lighter than a kolob, with an engine more powerful than it, it wouldn’t have a problem with towing issues in the slightest or hills, I don’t think it would just be average, when I think average Russian truck I think of something along the lines of the Voron AE, and a beefed up P12 would be way more useful then the AE hands down
Zikz can beat anything but the question is by how much difference and Derry is not too far away from zikz in most test, It even beat it in one test also It has that crane which I miss in zikz 605R

I haven't found a truck yet that beats the Zikz 605R. No wonder it wasn't given low saddle and crane with bed, because if it had those, you wouldn't need another truck once you got it. It's a beast.
Why choosing "High Gear" at all?!? I have never used it in playing 1.000s of hours... With "Auto Mode" Goliath would not stall in heavy load comparison 💪!! I even do not understand why this "High Gear" Mode exists at all 😳
Often, in certain situations, with the high gear, the trucks speed is constant, while with auto, it automatically changes to lower gears and looses speed, momentum, looses time to change to other gears.

It seems you struggle with apostrophes. It's means it is. Let's means let us. Lets is used when someone lets you do something. This little error makes you say one truck is 3 trucks, or sometimes that a truck is its roof rack. Great video otherwise.
