Great review! I definitely think this one was one of the better DLCs even though it was one map. The focus on balance instead of mud felt very fresh and new
If this would've been 2 map region then it would be very repetitive and less fun IMO...I am all in for quality over quantity but they could've added more new stuff, new type of mission to make it more interesting...I mean the scope of improvement is always there still it's good update overall.
They really did learn how to make a good 1 map season since season 7. If their bug fixing and QA continues like this for the rest of Y4 this could be the best year yet!
I loved slate blocks. I thought that this is one and only cargo in Snowrunner that you must show respect to due how heavy and tippy is. I had a lot of fun with delivering it
At least, in my opinion, going to quarries all the time became a bit boring over time. The lack of diversity on the map being so center around the 3 quarries was way too much for me. I enjoyed most of the other tasks. Also, it feels a bit lazy for the devs to increase playtime using the quarries. Sure, it takes time to go down and go up for different reasons, but not my favorite. In the end, it's just my opinion! Happy trucking everyone.
I liked this update a lot. Finally, some of the trucks got fixed. The new region is quite enjoyable, although slate missions were very annoying. I liked seismic vibrator missions though.
Wow they added a UMM Alter based Scout....Now that's something i wouldn't be expecting. The UMM Alter is a obscure 4x4 made in Portugal so seeing this makes me happy to see it.
This is one of my favorite regions in the game, i really enjoyed it, enjoyed it too much that my only problem with it is that i finished too fast. i wish it had more contracts.
Great review, I'd agree with pretty much everything. Only thing I was sceptical about was tasks being hidden behind other tasks, but even then, those felt somewhat natural. It wasn't hid for the sake of hiding, as such. There was a pretty good progression through the map, with lots of fun challenges, new cargo, and so many trucks were absolutely viable. I think I used maybe 40+ vehicles throughout the map.
yes, I am also not fan of hidden tasks...they ruin your planning...there was one hidden in bottom of quarry which demand more cargo...I mean if it was there before, I could've bring semi trailer there with more cargo...Also some route unlocking tasks are hidden which IMO should never be locked in any way specially not in late contracts.
dont know if its new feature but I think that they finally removed air gap between tire and asphalt and truck no longer feels like its levitating above the road ... however they havent aplied it for the bridges because when you reach the beginning of the bridge the truck jumps again into the air and when you leave the bridge it drops down ... plus I got the feeling that they did something with tire deformation in the point where it reaches ground now it looks more realistic as I can say
Well, it seems to be worth the money. I wanted to buy another dlc for the game and thought about this one, but what threw me back was the 1 region only.
DocBugsy PLAD 450...as vanilla or very balanced more powerful you want. And only 0.4mb size. Pair with Nanako112's tire pack if you want some little extra OP tires that look phenomenal!! And you mean Mudrunner mate. You said Snowrunner Lol
@@salvador_mano4x4 Can't honestly answer that as I haven't played Mudrunner yet. However the bit I've seen through what SD1ONE and a couple RU-vidrs have said/shown...I'd say it's a mix of both. If Saber's sequel met in the middle in overall, you'd more than likely have the perfect offroad trucking game.
This region has huge potential, but SABER spoiled the pleasure of driving around the Quarry. Artificial and unreal roads and obstacles. In such places, the roads are passable and not covered with boulders on the roads. It is more like entertainment for vehicles such as Crawler or TruckTrial, etc. They should suggest places where machines such as BelAZ, MoAZ, TONAR and T-330 work. Then the map region would make sense and make driving fun. Similarly, they spoiled the immersion of the Faun GOLIATH 8x8 vehicle, where it is a vehicle for complex and heavy transports on paved roads or light mud. Here he is a caricature... I don't like the course SABER has chosen. He turned it into an arcade for undemanding players whose driving skills resemble the GTA or FlatOut series. @@SD1ONE Not true... It would be more real and immersive. If SABER had perfected the physics of slippery mud (e.g. OVERPASS) and slippery gravel roads, it would not be so easy. Add to this the improved weight of vehicles and cargo and there would be no boredom.
@@SD1ONE it‘s also happening on other maps in Amur when you spawn many vehicles one after another. When you free yourself and drive through the garage exit area there seems to be some invisible object that the vehicles are glitching into when you spawn them
I really hope to see more NPCs, workmen in construction/production sites, people dining in cafes when we roll into town, garage workers etc. Game is beautiful and the vibe is fantastic but when its devoid of life, it feels artificial and immersion breaking.
I agree that it is really bad that they hid some of the bridge tasks. I think all tasks to open up the infrastructure should be available from the start or at least the game should somehow tell you how to get to the hidden task so you can plan for it early. I unlocked the bridge near the garage at the very end of the map which felt really crap. Personally I did not like this region at all. It just felt stretched for no logic reason other than to make the contract longer. Every contract had missions scattered all over the map. The quarries was just horrible to go thorugh with constant damage to the trucks happening for no reason. This is also one of those maps that forces you to use the most powerful trucks in the game which is just bad map design. Why have 70+ trucks in a game and make maps that can only use a few of them? I will play season 7 any day over this map.
Oh wow, so that sudden truck stuck on nothing in front if trailer is a new bug then...? Oh! That happened to me twice while using TWM's 6-slot wide trailer with a modded Plad and vanilla M917 while doing Michigan...I thought TWM's were causing the issue. Good to know now.
I never faced this bug before, I mean sometime trucks do stuck but that's due to something props like sign boards, etc stuck on truck...This time however it's stuck for no reason at all, also It's stuck twice at same spot.... after that I just avoided going to that section
@@SD1ONE Yeah I've never experienced this bug either until after that last hot patch released. I've got 30-35hrs in since the patch and only had it happen twice. So hopefully that means it's rare... Only solution I found was recover to the garage. Even deleting the trailer both times didn't work.
sadly, im not going to buy the year four pass, but for a good reason. I used to play about six percent of a map, then go to another region. Ive cleaned up my act now, managed to 100% Taymur last week (now foing Alaska) so Im doing all thr base regions first and then going in order for years 1-3. Wish me luck! Edit: I have encounted a bug from this update, my fleetstar got stuck for no reason but there was a sign in the bed so I thought it had just lost its physics, apperently, I waa wrong, thanks for letting us know that this is a bug
well if a sign is stuck on its bed then it's understandable why it stuck because those props get stuck in their place if you move them to a certain distance from their original position.
@@SD1ONE I know that some things lose their physics when they move further away from their original position, Its just the behavior of the truck was very similar to the bug you dysplayed in the video, no aspect of the truck was moving
That's a private mod made by a friend, he made this for his own personal use & has no plans to release it but You can get that log trailer which is a seperate mod & can be used with regular P16, It's called "TWM's p16 logging bunk and trailer"
Somehow I completely lost interest in this game. I played it for almost 4 years and uninstalled it this year. It was not fun anymore. But sometimes I still play Mudrunner + Adega mod
It is because thre're so much stuff to do in SR, if they went with MR physics, it would've been too slow to progress....I hope in next game they cut down on repetative missions & focus more on physics so that it balace out.
For a game that made hundreds of millions of dollars, it's hilarious what a scam it is. Literally the textures and that one single animated npc, plus useless vehicles (all scout class), and half of the rest. For such a videogame, we should've had dozens of times more things to do, every month new activities on ALL the maps, random quests, human designed missions that are temporary and expire, and having a huge skill jump for the max level, where you get all sorts of rewards. This sandbox alpha level of a videogame is hilariously scaming people wanting to play.
I think all those 100s of millions of dollars are gone to big corporate bosses of the company who used to own developer saber interactive but now thankfully saber is independent from them & hopefully we'll get some new & better features
