It would be great if it was possible to mount an extra fuel tank instead of a spare tire. I don't need spare tires very often, but fuel is always a problem.

Yea the WSTS (Western Star Twin Steer) is limited. I think it's to tall for saddle low, but I'd love to see it get a saddle high added. As for tipping, run it on stock suspension and dual rear 55' OHD I tires. The machine is a beast. Maybe a little less speed being on smaller tires, but it still plows though absolutely everything and it's way more stable. I though it would bottom out and get stuck easily on stock suspension, but I've been running it around Amur Oblast like this and let me tell you, it does not get stuck. I think as long as you go to the Kola region and get the AWD, it doesn't matter what suspension or tires you use. Once you have AWD the WSTS just motors. With P512 you have to be careful. Does the P512 have AWD in real life or is it realistically a RWD like the P16? I remember when AWD was added for the GMC MH9500, the casual players liked it (I like it) but the real hardcore players where all like "What is this? This is unrealistic. The MH9500 doesn't have AWD in real life. This ruins the truck." People where fine with AWD on the WSTS because in real life that truck has a AWD setup, but the MH9500 does not. I've heard similar complaints about the GMC Brigader to, people saying "Oh look, another truck with magical non-existant AWD." So I think you really have to be careful, not all trucks need AWD and we have dozen's of AWD options to choose from. So Sabre should probably makes to how they are based on real life spec. I always choose dual rear over single rear mudtires anyway, and if you really want mud tires you can use UOD II. Anything with a 2.0 or over is classed as a mudtire in SnowRunner, the UOD II has a mud rating of 1.9 (other offroad tires are 1.5). So UOD II Offroad are pretty much mudtires. But yea, I wouldn't complain about the Royal getting actual mud tires. And yes diff-lock would be nice. I agree ANK needs more body add-on's. This is also another truck I feel is usually better on a lower suspension (Active or Stock) with dual rear tires. Diff-lock with maybe raised and bigger wheels would be nice. But again I'd be wary about adding AWD if it doesn't have it in real life, otherwise people will complain. But I do think all trucks really should have diff-lock. Yea winch on the Freightliner really is in the way. The reason the crane sits so far back on the 5319 is because the second set of front wheels is the way. As for the fuel, it's not bad as the 5319 is a powerful truck and covers a lot of ground for the fuel it has. Still a increase would always be nice. I agree Marshall needs a fuel buff and trailer support. Big powerful scouts like the F-750, Yar and Loadstar can haul trailers but a little jeep can't? Marshall is like at best the the 5th best offroader in scouts behind the 3 I just mentioned and the Tatarin. It's not like the Marshall is overpowered or anything. Sabre really needs to add trailers for all trucks. I agree the 770G is pretty useless. I disagree with middle axle trucks. Going over a sharp mountain peak is a unrealistic test you'll almost never see in-game. I used the CAT CT681 and Western Star 49X in Amur Oblast for hauling short logs, and they did GREAT at that job. Very capable trucks. And the Derry has been a beast ever since they gave it active suspension. I agree back when the middle axle was locked permanently in the lowered position, the Derry was awful. But now with Active suspension I've used it in Taymir, Kola, Yukon, etc. Don't sleep on the Derry, it's a slow but capable beast of a truck. I agree the Derry 4520 needs a new engine, we need a new top American engine engine in general really. I don't like the rear steer the Derry 4520 has either, to sensitive, The Azov 73210 has a nice rear steer. If they could adjust the Derry's rear steer to be more like the Azov that'd be great.

It's just editing XML files so it's not a big deal, though it can take a while to make sure everything still behaves and is well balanced. I've been modding my own game for months now and have addressed most of the issues brought up in the video. Some of my favourite trucks are some of the ones that were most compromised from the begining. The only downside with it is that every release of the game you have to make sure your mods don't clash with anything new, and when you've modded so much, that can be a really time consuming (notepad++ and the compare add-on are your friend here!).

The Khan fuel nerf shouldn’t have happened anyway. Players bitched that it made the early game regions too easy apparently. It already can’t tow trailers, it was just good at scouting, claiming watchtowers, opening up the map etc. Anyways ya they complained it made the game too easy, don’t fucking use it then. Imagine letting a non-competitive game affect how you play. The game is mostly solo, in co-op why should you be worried about what someone else is using. The Khan Marshall was a pre-order bonus for a reason just like the Navistar, but no because of all the whiners, those of us who paid extra for the ultimate edition got cheated out of what once was a great Scout vehicle because it can’t even do that anymore with its pitiful 11gal/40lit tank smh.

As we can see it clearly, most are Americans. And to make it worse, I am running an Anerican-only fleet, so I suffer them every day. I can only say they make Russian fleet strong in purpose. 6900 is in my fleet. In real life, 6900 has a flip-up saddle to tow semi trailers, and it actually has trailer hitch, but no trailer support? This caused it can't use trailer store as fuel station and repair shop if there is no other truck. But anyway, with careful driving, it serves its role well, before 5600TS, it's my primary cargo hauler. P512PF, almost same story with P16, a great 6x4. And they even do the same trick on tires, they give ridiculous mud grip attributes on 512's tires. BM17, since it lacks diff-lock, I never bordered it. MK38 is in my fleet. If with frame add-on capability, I believe it's American Tayga. 4070A, no difflick, no AWD, no use. Never border it, the only useful thing is it can be acquired free, good money. M916A1 is in my fleet. And may be surprise for you, it plays the role of high-saddle heavy hauler! It proved its capability in the mission . Yeah it's pure decorative winch sits in the ways of some trailer limited its capability. And I don't think its gear box is problem, I feel its actually not bad, with 3 low gears, and 6AT is faster than off-road 4ATs. 5319, it's Russian, so is not in my fleet. But I tried it back to days in Taymyr, it's pretty good. It's fuel thirsty engine and tiny fuel tank, has similar story with MK38. They both are unstoppable fast off-roader, they always reach its destination or refuel point before run out of fuel. And yeah, the no-reason gap. If it can mount the crane at rear of frame, it gonna be perfect. The small crane, I don't know how Russian version performs. The American LC3.8 can't lift cargo when the arm fullly extend. And it's not long enough to reach the rear end of trailer. So I must deattach the trailer to load or unload it. Khan39, I am glad when they small it's fuel tank, I have got 1700, no longer use it. 770G, also has tires with ridiculous mud grip attributes, but still, no AWD, no role for my fleet. Apache, I thought it gonna be American Yar87, but it turns out to be Chernobyl-class disappointment! I paied for it, but no trailer support, and the most ridiculous thing is it's FWD when AWD is off. WTF? AYFKM? TH357, the only useful thing is it can be acquired free, good money. Truck with dead axle, that's why M916A1 is high-saddle hauler in my fleet. 4520, I think you forget P12. Both of them have the same problem, insufficient power. They only have enough power to pull themself up the hill, not suitable for trailer towing and towing rescue.. If with enough power, 4520 supposed to be my high-saddle hauler, P12 supposed to be my heavy crane platform and rescuer. Finally, I'd like to mention 5600TS, it's not a very crippled trucks. But it lack high-saddle, why the F when the tiny 4WD C70 can have high-saddle but 10WD 5600 can't? And then its fuel thirsty engine and tiny tank. I run it with crane+bed+ramped flatbed trailer, and usually over load it to 8 to 10 slot of cargo, so the unstoppable-enough story from MK38 and 5319 is not suitable for 5600, so fuel is problem, I have to place fuel trailer along it's path, or another tanker 5600 to run along.

Agree with the most, especially longhorn. Such an interesting truck, has great features for the logs carrier. But it just can't handle any steep elevations, sadly. Some trucks in this list have cons but yet prons to compensate it, like twinsteer - it's prone to tipping over, no questions asked, yet only one that can carry 4 pieces of cargo without a trailer. It also has the benefit of a long base, the truck is good in scaling rough terrain anyway, but that also gives an advantage of having say rear axles yet on good ground and pushing front through mud and vise versa. I would say it's in a good balance. Yet all of the trucks missing AWD/difflock are fairly useless. Dead axle gives 0 benefits too, only stands in a way. And I think you missed one important point - the high center of mass. Like on bandit or 42-20. Those are good vehicles, but so prone to tipping over

I find the Azov 5319 to be one of the best trucks in the game. The always on diff lock means you can use H-gear quite liberally, which helps with the fuel consumption. It swims really well. It's an 8x8 that can fit chains. It takes no frontal damage. It tends to climb out of mud due to the shape of the nose. It's my go-to rescue/support truck. It's also a good truck when playing with a new player. When fully built it's a solid mid-game truck and it's relatively easy to obtain. Really its fuel consumption is the only big downside of that truck and that seems quite an obvious game-balance choice. Same kinda goes for the Derry Longhorn 4520. Unlike the ZiKS or the Kolobs it can have chains. It's steering rear axle makes it surprisingly nimble. But the chains basically etch out it's niche. It can haul Saddle High trailers up icy slopes where the usual suspects just can't. I wouldn't go into the Yukon or Amur without it.

Back in the days when Mudrunner was new you could use notepad to easily edit the game files(once you get used to how messy they seem to be, it became very easy to reliably modify them without causing any errors, plus you could modify them while ingame!). This was super useful for adding different wheels onto some vehicles - for example a ZAZ 968 with MAZ 7410 wheels(simply increase body lift and change the wheels). Maybe something like this is possible in Snowrunner, it would help maybe to add some addons to some trucks that feel like they deserve them. When my new SSD arrives and I reinstall windows I will try to see if it is the same as Mudrunner and show you how to do it if you don't already know

I totally agree with you, the ANK and P512pf have the same fuel issue that the AZOV has. Especially your special mentions are totally true! The CAT Telehandler should at least have Scout hitch so its usefully for ANYthing! The only point I disagree is the big Derry Longhorn. It hates deep mud, because it has small tires, but its the best heavy hauler of US. My personal No1 is the P12: its a great setup over all with 6x6, big tires, and high frame but it has to little torque that you can get stuck on hills with a trailer easily. that vessile wont start at all even in Low Gear with biggest eninge! That makes it useless for hauling heavy cargo. In addition it flips over very easily

* The Twinsteer doesn't topple that easily is great at what it does. It just should turn it's back wheels as some mods fix. * The Royal is easy to get to and will be a big leap up from starter trucks. It tips easily and at times you miss a diff lock but it's efficient, fast and relatively powerful. * ANK MK38 is also rather easy to get to early on and will be a nice upgrade from starter trucks. It's fast and pulls through a lot but it's not fuel efficient and limited in options. * Freightliner M916A1 is one sexy semi that indeed is hampered by it's tow cable setup in the back. It really would look great as a logging truck :D The AZOV 5319 is my favorite truck!! Looks great and is a super fast 8x8!! Just not very fuel efficient that's all :p But I agree, they could make it even better without the weird spacing! For the rest I generally agree yes...

I agree, but all of the highway trucks and tires are completely useless. Can't even have fun with them in role play because there's no where to even drive them without getting stuck. I hope the next map includes an actual highway portion to use highway trucks. Even if that means swapping cargo from an offroad to the highway truck, drive down the highway, then unload onto another offroad truck. Lot's of extra work but I like to role play like that. Also the fact that no American heavy trucks can use a heavy crane defeats the whole purpose of the heavy crane. I'd like to see either of the Derry Longhorns, or Pacifics be able to use a heavy crane. The best truck to use a crane is the Azov 10x10. It's heavy, powerful, and stable. Too bad you have to get it in Russia just to bring it back to America.

The "forklift" is great for one thing: Log "cheating" -Bring it to a log spawner and a truck with a sideboard semitrailer , spawn 3 logs CAT on one side , trailer paralell to the other. -The fork does not count as "blocking the area" -Lift 3 medium/short or 2 long logs at once so you can more easily keep track of loads -Take a basic crane (or log loader) to push the logs back - repeat until you reach desired loads. 12 long or 24 meduim in 2 layers should fit "safely" on the semitrailer - Get to destination -tip trailer to unload 4 "loads" from A to B in one go you are faster that way than going back and forth in most cases, even if you are slow at maunal loading, as trips can take you 5-10 minutes easily You are way faster than using the log crane as its grabbing is so weak that it cant grab 3 logs at once, the CAT can.

The problem with heavy Derry appears because the game doesn't work with conception of ballast tractors (trucks that have additional weight to add friction and to prevent wheel spin). In Snowrunner there's no wheel spin on hard surfaces. Wheels just don't move at all instead when you lack the power.

The p512pf is actually a p510pf if you google it(I know its the game developers fault). Most of the pacific trucks in real life are rwd because of where they were used so it makes sense why it doesn't have awd. And the transtar didn't ever come with awd or diff lock because it was meant for just road use same with the ford. They are both very capable trucks in a majority of Alaska, majority of Michigan, and the 2nd map of Canada.

It's a shame about the Khan Marshall. It's a good scout and you get it for free with the DLC but ultimately, it's free money since it's useless. Very tippy, no trailer support and the tiniest fuel tank ever. Sure the roof rack addon triples it's autonomy, but that makes it even more prone to tipping over. Do yourself a favour and get the YAR 87.

They really nerfed the Khan into the dirt by cutting it´s fuel tank almost in half. It´s still a strong truck if u wanna do some rescue operations with it. But sadly scouting with it without already knowing where u can get fuel is no longer a safe option. U could add the roof rack but then u would have a problem with it tipping over and the thing is already very unstable without the rack. Allowing it to hook up to scout trailers would be a good change. Not only would u have a fuel source but u could leave it in a spot for your bigger trucks if they should need fuel later. They may aswell do this as i have seen many ppl just use the winch and drag a big fuel trailer behind it anyway. Atleast then ppl might actully use the trailer hook.

Considering the fact that most of what you do in this game is hauling cargo, I don't think a lack of body add-ons for the TwinSteer and MK38 is a problem; both of them can annihilate pretty much any trail, and quickly.

Ive used the derry a lot and the non driven axle has saved me more than it has hindered me. I cant recall many situations that it hindered me but its great when youre towing and you need more ground clearance, then if youre getting stuck with those wheels just lift them back up. The derry works better than most trucks with the dead axles I have rarely found anything in the actual maps like that test hill where you bottom out a lot

5:35 It would be unrealistic to phase the spare tire through the crane alongside with the sideboard or flatbed addon. And I find that it works well with a fuel tank, having a strong suspension, robust offroad capacity and the complete reduction of engine collision damage. It works best as a utility vehicle, and is one of the best suited towards it.
