Do you have a wiring diagram where you hooked into the snowy factory installation? Im looking at a 3000w inverter installation but wondering where to intercept tje factory mains
Very nice looking setup & Victron is great gear, but I dont understand why in a premium system like this you have only installed a 25A DC-DC charger with a 600A battery capacity. If they were to encounter problems or had a flat battery for whatever reason with no other way to charge but while running the engine, it would take 30+ hours minimum to get these batteries up to a full SOC. Most towing vehicles for this class of van installation should be able to recover 40A-60A/hr without issue to alternators overheating. JMO a 40A or 60A DC-DC charger would make more sense for this type install, when you consider what this setup is already worth, a larger charger is not going to be that much more, you could leave the air con going hot or cold, a couple of pies in the oven & a stew in a slow cooker as you travel and arrive with 100% SOC still in ur batteries, a cool van, a pie for lunch & a stew for dinner. Cheers
The size of the DC charger is completely dependent on their towing vehicle. In this situation they had already maxed out their alternators capacity with another system so this was the best solution for them. Just remember the solar comes in as well. Apart from upgrading their alternator. This will still work and still does perfectly.
Great video and info 👍. Can you please advise the cost (ballpark if you like) of components (Victron etc....), smaller stuff like fuses etc..... , and labour (separately). I need something like this in the next couple of years and need to know what sort of $$$ we are talking. 🤔
