Hey Aaron my name is Jeff, as a former commercial grouper/ amberjack boat out of Clearwater Fl. I must say that i admire your ethics for protecting our fisheries, catch a few while leaving enough for tomorrow is greatly appriciated by so many. We offer our thanks and gratitude❤.
I was so into the video I missed seeing several letters and had to watch again... Excellent fish. As a Native Floridian and fishermen, I enjoy how you go over things and talk to the viewers and not just some random RU-vidr that has a rod and bait thinking their professionals. Keep up the great videos.
Man you couldn’t have said that any better brother. I to am a native Floridian and so enjoy his content and the way he handles things. I told him he should do teaching videos even. He’s that good at explaining everything.
You are the good Karma waterman! Your lack of greed is inspiring and I truly hope the mindset and methodology catches on with as wide an audience as possible. Namaste.
OK thanks at the end of a long day I get to live vicariously through one of your adventures . Not that I have not had some of my own but what you do is well done and greatly appreciated. Heartfelt thankyou.
I couldn't agree with you more about starting to work as a commercial fisherman. Expensive is the perfect way to describe how it is. If you have a bunch of money you're not fond of had me laughing. People think they can just go get the license and reap the rewards. To those who believe that, good luck 😆. I personally got my start on a boat called The Pamela L. We fished out of Stock island lobster. Owner Peter Bacle made some good money from our vessel. I started out as a second mate working lobster traps and stone crab traps. I can't tell you how much I miss those days. We also net fished for pompano and mackerel and usually caught our share and then some. We used a pilot to spot the fish back then. Now I figure you can use a drone for that. Those are some beautiful snowy grouper and the Blue line looks like it will be good eating as well. Thanks for sharing your passion for hunt and as always stay safe.
hahah couldn't agree more! and I'm familiar with the bacles. They still use a pilot for the net boats, although they only get one drop a season I believe. I've witnessed it a few times. thanks for watching!
I started reading through the comments as I usually do and can't believe no one mentioned the beard!!!!! You clean up pretty good my brother! Love the video and the fact your giving back to your viewers!
Amen to giving back to the viewers. That a very cool idea and when he first started all of this he said that he had a plan and man his viewers are growing like crazy! I like that he shows that it’s not easy at all. Man I watch these commercial guys out in the middle grounds just raping the bottom and it’s crazy the way they do things. I seen them the other day just bangstick these huge fish man and when they went down there was over 100 nice size gags and one black and they killed everyone of them bro I promise you that. You leave a bunch on the spots and that’s why you will always have good numbers that’s for sure.
What a great episode. Im glad you are keeping the variety commin. Between the mangrove/flats episodes, deep drop/commercial, spear fishing, and cooking episodes you are keeping us on our toes. Id love to see more of the local keys restaurants behind the scenes cooking stuff. I think thats a nice addition to all the other categories you got going. Love everything you do tho man. Cant wait to see whats next!
I"ve been watching about a year now and enjoy your videos, getting to see the islands where i was born just touches my soul so deeply, I have only been able to go back a couple times since we left when I was a child and just feel I belong there.I joke with my friends and coworkers that I am going to retire and go back to stay and fish and watch the sun set and finnish where I started.I just wanted to share this with you so you will keep showing everyone what heaven on earth looks like! thanks KEN stock island conch,1966
I also spent my childhood in the keys and every time I go back to visit I swear there is a strange connection with that place that calls me back. Cool to see im not the only one that feels this. :D
I love those quick hose disconnects. I have them on my home hose which makes it so much easier to go from a hose sprayer, sprinkler, kids water toys to even power washers
Such an awesome video. I live in southwest fl and we have to run out 30 40 miles just to get to 120 feet. You must not have to run out too far to get 500 feet in key west.
That flush port is AWESOME. The setup Merc provides is a PITA. Plus if the motors are hot, I have blown out the check-valve. Definately buying two of those. Not complaining about my Mercs, but they missed some ergonomic stuff. Thanks!
Love your channel! Love the spearfishing and deep drops one especially. Have your same engines on my boat with those horrible OEM flush ports. Saw the flush-m ones you used and spang for the cost. Works great except they completely kink the hose inside of the engine cowling. Ended up cutting the hose inside the cowling and installing a 90 degree brass elbow. Keep up the videos!
Couple things. 1. Cool Giveaway Idea... 2. For the easy connect, is there enough water pressure there, to put on a hose split and flush both your engines at 1 time? 3. I'm Happy to set up some giveaway stuff for your next contest. Just let me know.
You can tell when someone is a good genuine human being. That’s why your channel will hit millions of subscribers in the near future. Great content as always may god bless you.
Nice haul. My dad used to be a part-time commercial fisherman in Jupiter FL back in the day. He only did it a few times a year. Mainly for the adventure and not the money. I used to go out with him to help out and you are right when you say it is hard work! Great video as usual!
Love how you conserve the resources of your spots by taking a few and moving on. Don't believe because the fish are biting you should fish your spot out and ruin that spot for the near future. Keep up the good work!
I just started to watch this video and just want to know if the giveaway is still going on. Im watching the whole video regardless. Your channel has taken over my feed and it brings me, cool calm and collect entertainment when I need it most. Bad ass life brother!
Nice fishing Aaron. Any valid points about those who ask about career advice. Your words could be applied to various fields. Much respect for the reality of the work.
Been watching on TV. had to grab phone to subscribe, love the videos, next time in marathon area looking u up!! (Go there 3 times a yr) You sir are livin the dream!!
Always had an interest in commercial fishing by whatever means, used to see commercials fishing for kingfish out of palm beach inlet in the'90's, they jigged for them. Always wondered how they made a living, haven't seen kingfish steaks in the markets since forever, people are scared of the mercury.
def is an interesting industry, they still heavily commercially fish kingfish, from my understanding most of it is shipped north for smoked fish dip nowadays.
Wonderful episode. It has been a while since you did one of these videos. You really landed some big Snowy Groupers. Looking forward to next Monday. Until then be well!
Holy smokes that grouper was huge!! Sure would be awesome to win this contest. Bringing the family from Wisconsin to do some fishing and crabbing and other Florida Keys fun this spring. This would help 🎣 Good luck friend’s and Thanks Aaron for a try.
@@KeyWestWaterman is there any chance we can meet up while we are in the keys maybe pick your brain on catching some of the amazing fish you catch my son is home from college heads back Jan 23 day before his birthday would be so cool to hang and may be fish ?
Enjoyed the video. I have to say I have never noticed/seen a large fishes' heart beating. I've done some deep dropping off Summerland Key where we live. Its always exciting.
Great video Dibs! As an accountant, I really, or at least I believe, I understand the fishing business, as I’ve been involved in the industry for a long time thru myself and my Dad as we have worked on their businesses for well over 30 + years. Longer for Dad. Watching you has been enlightening to say the least. Your love for what you do makes me wish I was part of your advisors to help you grow further.
Deep dropping is probably my favorite method of fishing, but the closed seasons for recreational folks like me suck. So much so, I don't do much deep dropping outside of the snowy and blue line seasons. I hate bringing up a big snowy with extreme barotrauma and having to send it back down to it's death.
its def one of my favorites! and yea idk why they leave golden open why the rest are closed. I've talked about it before makes absolutely no sense. I respect that!
Blessing to you and your family. May peace be with you.. I put old synthetic wine bottle corks on my rigs/hooks to keep them.Secure,Safe,& Sharp. It’s the same technology my “MeMa” had with her Pin cushion. “ Slice e’m how you like “ Quote: “ Everybody does it the right way; Until it goes wrong! Now it’s your own fault”
Very interesting, thanks for showing us. I did a little commercial snapper fishin' in Costa Rica and it really is hard work. If you saw how the locals do it you'd be impressed, they use hand lines. The spool is on the deck and the line drapes over the side, they just have a loose pile on the deck when they haul in fish. I made a mess, got frustrated and broke out my rods and did it gringo style. They caught more fish. But I usually did better than them trolling. I caught 26 yellowfin tunas one day with them. That was work too! I never took any money, I just went to have fun and catch supper. So they liked taking me, especially trolling. Good times. I'll be there in February visiting my son. We're going rainbow bass (big cichlids like peacock bass) then Pacific snook and rooster fish fishin' on the beach. Should be fun.
Great video as always, I've only been out deep water a few times while I lived in south Florida. We were deep dropping in 300' with live pinfish for AmberJacks, brought in a few cobra and almacore jacks as well. Sure do miss fishing down there. Thanks for reminding me what a good time saltwater fishing is, I love in wisconsin and nothing pulls quite like the saltwater fish do.
I love watching your videos! I’ve never been on the ocean, a lot of lakes and rivers, and every video I watch of yours makes me more and more antsy to get down there! Thanks for excellent content!
Nice video Aaron, those were some nice Snowies. I'm glad you made a little profit. I'd be glad to assist you at no charge sometime if you could use some cheap help.
Now that's a nice day fishing! I tried to keep up with the letter thing, but Aaron there was just too much going on! You got some beauties! Good luck to those that enter the contest, crossing fingers for you! Have a great and beautiful week Aaron!
As always, thank you for being so respectful to nature. To both the fish (immediate brain and drain) and not overfishing your spots. Very rare on RU-vid and you're most consistently respectful. I recently found a new YT fisherman who is "high speed" and all about action. Videos are entertaining but he is very disrespectful to the fish. This other fisherman has so little respect for the fish that he seriously injured himself on camera... he was holding up a big YFT for trophy pics he just gaffed and carelessly chucked the fish to the deck like he always does. This time however he stupidly threw the fish onto his own foot and broke his arch, creating a severe compound fracture deep at sea. Simply moronic.
Thanks for the contest and awesome videos. Pretty fun to attempt to watch for those letters when a beast Snowy is pulled up lol! Hopefully the winner of the cash puts it to good use.
