Life has been chaotic to say the least. I've been working 7 days a week to make ends meet and be prepared as a small business owner for the holiday season. I ended my relationship, restarted therapy, made new friends, and deepened existing friendships. I traveled to the Grand Canyon, to Moab, to Indian Creek. It's been a hectic fall.
I found myself last week over it. I needed a day off in my favorite mountains. The San Juans! I drove up to one of my favorite hikes by Silverton and enjoyed the stunning views with the dogs and a cup of tea. I'm so grateful this is only an hour of the most breathtaking scenery of driving away from my house.

Another relaxing video Jules, thankyou. After my time in Mesa Verde, i travelled to Silverton. I really pushed the boat out and stayed in the big hotel in town. Chance to clean up after some long camping/hikes. The area is dramatic and beautiful.. love it. High in the mountains, its so important to be prepared for the unseen problems that may occur. I too went through a breakup shortly after op for cancer. Its hard sometimes to move on and be resilient enough to do so. It maybe easier when younger eh ?

Thank you for sharing! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t always ‘finish’ a hike. My dog and I are fairly new to hiking and it’s been an interesting journey testing our limits in the various climates. Such a good dog mom for keeping your pups safety top priority! How do you know how to spot avalanche worry spots? Just with practice or are there things to look out for? Great video!!

The angle of the slope is a huge indicator based on my little knowledge of avy safety. I try to avoid hills with more than a 30 degree slope if there's more than a few inches on the trail. You can look at snow layers buy digging down too but the angle is what I go off of in the fall and spring!
