Peanut the Fox Squirrel is sleepy and likes to plop down on my thigh or snuggle his stuffed Burt's Bees Pear. He's a 13 week old rescue that we are rehabbing for release. He's a fox squirrel with a bunny tail.
Poor little guy lost his tail. He cant be released like that. Hed never make it. They make awesome pets though. I grew up with a pet squirrel named Frisky from the time i was 6 years old. She was my best buddy growing up and lived almost 14 years. Take good care of the little furball. Youll never be short of love and affection. They absolutely live to snuggle and play!
Once he's released he will miss the massages and the pear. This was 4 years ago. I hope he's still enjoying a happy squirrel life, which he owes to you for so kindly taking care of him. Maybe he even comes back to visit you from time to time to say "Thanks!"

When you see all these cute baby squirrel videos it's sad to know that in the UK they expect you to leave abandoned baby squirrels to die. And if you do take them to an animal sanctuary then the sanctuary is expected to kill them. But hey, that's the kind of country the UK has become.
If that's true, this thing will never survive in the wild without it's tail. They rely on that for balance and hiding from predators by covering themselves with it.
Absolutely right. They use it for about a thousand other things too. Balance is obviously the biggie though. He'd never be able to live in the wild w/o it. Anyone know what the final outcome was with this squirrel?
