It’s a great blanket and very warm for its small size. Have used it how you suggested in the summer and it works surprisingly well. Had to sack the model as she gave big and small children nightmares lol
H Annette, apologies for the late reply. Glad you liked it. Sadly the Models career was cut short as the appearance scared some viewers. lol. May bring her back at some point in the future.
Hi LA LA Clown, yep the model creeps me out too lol. I usually make my videos alone but needed someone to model in order to give a better idea of how it looks on. Well we came up with that idea as I’m always trying something new. The idea was if things were positive we would probably include the model occasionally in other videos. Judging by the reaction (any small children who watched will probably refuse to go to bed if the lights are off) I have furlonged the model. Thanks for the comment.
Just my opinion but I wouldn’t get used to using the blanket to get to the temperature range you think you’ll need. Especially in winter where the temp may drop considerably lower than expected. I’d always send a inter bag and if too warm vent the bag or remove clothes worn. But you’ll be safe if it’s really cold. A jungle blanket won’t keep you very warm on its own in an emergency either unless in a jungle 🤷♂️
I agree, used mine as a cover to add an additional few degrees to a 3 season sleeping bag. Also great as a wrap around on a chilly evening while out camping. For the pack size and weight it is a great piece of kit when used within its capabilities.
What a tidy, ordered, beautiful-looking garage you have! The model was fantastic, I really respect her sense of fun in miming out your spoken narrative. What a great sport, lol. And _I_ personally thought she was _very pretty_ , so there.😛 On the blanket, I'm considering getting one to sew along 3 edges (& then add a draw-cord with lock) to serve as a sandwich layer/"outer liner"for between my fleece sleeping-bag liner & the inside my bag, to hopefully bring the warmth up a little bit further than the fleece alone can manage. Based on your handling of the blanket, is this an idea you think could work? I really don't have Sea To Summit Therrmolite Reactor money, unfortunately, so am trying to find creative fixes to my not-quite-warm-enough bag problem.
Thanks, will let the Model know lol. Regarding the blanket conversation Mmmmmm could be a lot of work and probably would not be a good idea. There are a lot of variables depending on what sort of bag you have and what situation you use it in. It’s designed as a blanket and so is quite versatile so sewing it up would restrict its use. Also if your bag is a snug fit then adding an inner layer could probably be quite constricting and restrict air flow. Probably a lot less hassle to buy a 4 season bag for the colder months and keep the other for summer use. I have used mine as a throw over on a summer bag and weighted one side down with kit I was carrying to stop it slipping off. It’s not a perfect solution but added additional warmth. Good luck with finding a solution 👍
@@InfoZhedExplore I have an envelope-style bag, & enough cash for a jungle blanket but not enough for a Winter bag (I don't have an income, just a government stipend - I am medically retired), but on the upside my setup only has to be warm enough for Australian early Winter + early Autumn & I live somewhere relatively cold but not prone to freezing. I don't need a system which can endure snow + ice, just low single-digit Celsius & a mean wind-chill factor (I do use a tent). I presently have about a 2.5 season bag I'm just hoping to squeeze about an extra month each year out of.
Now I understand, if you are travelling light I would still just use the Snugpak as a throw over or if you do not mind a little extra bulk have a look around for an Army Surplus Wool Blanket. In the UK we can pick them up as New/Old Stock for very little money. Definitely would not sew up a new Snugpak blanket. Good luck with your sleeping arrangements.
