The problem is they got their 1st two Grammys for the arrangements. The Grammys are just not set up for acapella groups. The arrangement here was beautiful, but getting the nomination will be hard. Given the huge number given out each year, there should be an acapella category.
Patricia pace, I’ve been saying this very same thing since this song was released. God help the music industry if this doesn’t become PTX’s 4th Grammy!
@@AbbyC543 Just passing this on as a Pentaholic, they said the song came out to late for this year's nominations and if it gets put up it will be for next years awards...so here's to hoping!!!
I clicked so fast! I missed you with Pentatonix reactions so much. Just perfect mix of appreciation and knowledge and your face is so expressive the entire reaction is grade A reaction rather than just watching someone sit there for 5 minutes. Thank you!
On the back half of the song when Kirstin starts echoing Mitch.... that ALWAYS gives me goosebumps, no matter how many times I've heard this song. Love your energy and perspective.
I mean Mitch... there are just no words for his voice - once in a generation. Angelic, pure and sooooo damn beautiful. I love the to and fro between Mitch and Scott on this one. Their voices are so gorgeous together. PTX don't do covers, they do 'upgrades'. They missed it timing wise for the Grammies last year but they could be up for one this year for The Prayer. They soooo deserve it. It's just stunning.
Yeah, that Aeolian cadence ending on the I chord with a Picardy third at the end was genius! I sooo do wonder if David Foster has heard this version of his song! It is sooo fire!
Loved this reaction! Most people get tears in their eyes because of the lyrics - as well as how it was delivered. You got tears because of some of that, I'm sure, but it looked to me your tears were more from how beautifully it was done musically. Mark of a wonderful musician, appreciating not only the lyrics but the entire musicality. Beautiful reaction. Thank you!
One song from the Evergreen album has a lot of percussion -- "I Saw Three Ships" The studio version has layers recorded separately with body, voice and table percussion and you can see them putting it together in "The Recording of Evergreen" starting around minute 14. For the live performances they all do body percussion then Kevin takes over vocally once the singing starts. There are several live versions available, with at least three done for TV shows so with decent sound.
Finally!!!!! Bro great reaction!! Lol I knew you were gonna love this! They did a behind the scenes of filming this and recording if you wanna just check those out. Thank you for the reaction😊
If you haven’t already, you need to do a reaction to “New Rules X Are You That Somebody”. As a drummer, the sick drum lick in this one is undeniable and a must listen. It’s a marriage made in heaven of the classic Aaliyah song with the oh so modern Dua Lipa.
Jarvis….I found you by accident…..I ALWAYS look for new reactors to me who react to PTX …..You are so great. Since you are a drummer you know what to listen for. Great insight my friend……Of course you get my red button….They better get their 4 Grammy for this one…..Judy D from NY State
So glad I saw that you had reacted to this! I've missed your vibrant PTX reactions! I think two underrated originals of theirs that would be amazing to your musical side are "Run To You" & " Light in the Hallway" both of which have great live recordings from concerts if you want to hear them. Also, just for yourself, I would really recommend the short documentary showing then recording their last album Evergreen, which includes this song. You'll be floored when you see how they work together & create! Much love friend!
Jarvis, young one, I love your reactions because you are a performer and you respect the art! So much respect for the music, just like PTX does. The music is the gift! To the performer and the audience! I believe those who believe the music is more important than themselves, they are the ones who become the greats! I would love to see you work! I’m 71 this year, so not performing anymore, but loving always the gift of the music. Keep up the genuine reactions, cause kid, you are special!
Great reaction from you! They do such an amazing job. Absolutely breathtaking. And what a journey they take you on, aye? It just builds and builds and then BOOM! And then they bring it back down. Insane. ♥️♥️♥️
You have the BEST facial expressions!!! I love love love watching your reactions! You have such a good understanding of music and you appreciate the little nuances that this group does so well! I did it!
Oh, *loved* this reaction! You were so strong and sincere! And yes, "let it breathe." They are masters of the use of silence and quiet, their dynamics are unmatched.
I love your energy and the information you give. I recommend reacting to their performance of Kiiara's Gold. It is a live performance and an absolute masterclass in intricate layers.
Yay more PTX!! Great start to my day to find a reaction from you on them! I love how excited you get over a few parts of the songs. You're one of my favourite reactors for sure! ❤️❤️❤️
This was one of the hymns I chose to have in my husband’s funeral in 2021. It still touches my heart. Listen to it performed by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. That will bless you too!💘❤️❗️
I'm so glad you did this one. I had given up on you doing ptx again but I'm glad I was wrong. If you haven't done New rules mashed up with are you that somebody you are missing out on a vocal percussion masterpiece. HINT: ITS TIMBALANDS BEATS THAT MATT AND KEVIN REPLICATE.
Your energy any and every time you say “send it up” is impeccably contagious. I first heard your “sent it up” when you listened to Hallelujah - Pentetonix… I FELT IT!
I love all of your reactions. You should listen to "Imagine" next. Also listen to Kevin Olusola do his own thing "Down". That man is so talented its crazy.
Great reaction- this is simply stunning. In my mind, I see a crescendo of fireworks going off over the Disneyland castle on that that 20 seconds ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I know this is kind of old now, but I really want you to know that I love your reactions, especially to Pentatonix. They never miss, and if they ever break up, the world will be a poorer place for it. Keep up the reactions.
Other PTX you should see/react to: "Are You That Somebody...", "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Sound of Silence" . . . Originals: "Happy Now", "Be My Eyes," . . . just a few to get you started - also, their Christmas stuff is just as amazing = Amazing Grace, 12Days of Xmas, Drummer Boy, Mary Did You Know,
I know you reacted to this one awhile ago, but if you have a chance PLEASE listen to their “Recording of Evergreen”, it demonstrates their innovations and creative decisions that ultimately become this absolute PERFECTION. I think that’d be right up your alley. Thanks for another great reaction and breakdown!
Absolutely the BEST reaction to this song that I've seen. Pentatonix is amazing and I'm so glad that you appreciate them. Check out some of KO's solo stuff....it's mind-blowing..
You want too find the songs that don’t have any beatboxing, too hear them All sing. There are some amazing songs also the live versions you need too look at at. Carol of the Bells, when Mitch doesn’t breath. 🙏❤️🇬🇧🙏❤️🇬🇧
I just found your videos tonight and I absolutely love Pentatonix and your reactions are just priceless!!😊👍 Also, I loved everything you said about them too because I just love their harmonies and especially the video Hallelujah and your reaction to that just made me smile!👍 They sure are an awesome a cappella group for sure. God bless you and I shall be checking out more of your videos to see more reactions from you. Sue M.😊👍🙏🏻
A lot of reactors I just listen to, but you, you I have to watch. You have the most expressive face out there, and I just love it. It adds so much to be able to see in your eyes and your smiles just how much you appreciate what you're hearing. I pay extra attention when your eyes get big and round to see if I can hear just what it is that has caught your attention. Love your reactions. Keep 'em coming.
I love to watch you. I thank you for bringing stuff to my attention that I may not have noticed or not know about. I love them so much but with your help I am learning some of the reasons why. I just love the wall of sound and getting Mitch slapped.
I enjoyed your reaction to this beautiful Pentatonix video. They are amazing. Your energy was a joy to behold. I look forward to more of your Pentatonix reactions.
So excited to see that you reacted to PTX again! Your reactions are my absolute favorites, especially to Pentatonix! Thanks so much and please keep them coming:)
