I started playing in S2 only having heard of the cool things blasters could do in S1, so I dedicated to playing range in S2 despite being nerfed in virtually every patch, and it just feels so much better to play in S3, and its so cool to see it picked up despite the lack of grim range blaster

I definitely found my Rapid Blaster was a lot less viable once I got to S+. Its weaknesses are definitely exploitable, I just didn't see anyone actually do it until the top rank.

I'd really love to hear what your ideal kits would be for any of these weapons. In fact, a general "ideal kit" video for all the underperforming weapon kits in the game would be an interesting perspective to hear from someone with a lot of pro experience, especially someone familiar with using underperforming kits.

@@ProChara my suggestion for blobber? Torpedo/Inkvac but that's me wanting to play blobber in a forward position and go for risky frags Torpedo for initiating 1v1s with advantage, using the split attention torpedo forces to create an opening, and also using it for soft intel on enemy location. the damage being not enough to splat and your slow projectile also means you cant rely on it as a spammy backline sub so you're required to be proactive and aggressive to take full advantage, but the chip damage it can deal helps you with securing frags since landing all 4 blobs in close range can be very risky and unreliable. inkvac to require the blobber player to be in a forward position with teammates and push to take advantage of its special, giving a lot of supportive utility. Both of these in a bloblobber kit should emphasize the weapon's aggressive capability and discourage backline spammy play (in the way the current kit kinda does) it would also be one of the most unique kits in the game, giving one of the most mechanically distinct weapons in the game one of the most mechanically distinct sub and specials in the game

As a person who is heavily one shotting the Luna Blaster, I agree that it can be hard to get in with zipcaster, but definitely is the most fun special they could give for Luna and really if they just give it good bombs (please give a buffed line marker or burst bomb on one kit Nintendo the combos could be insane) then it will still be really good with most the specials, just please don't give it ink mine again.

Videos like this one but for other classes as well would be amazing! Knowing how exactly they benefit from the new game mechanics and what their weaknesses are before a quick overview of each weapon from that class would be really appreciated, I personally still play a lot of weapons the same way I played them in S2 so it'd be awesome to know other options.

I was shocked to find that I really loved rapid blaster, especially early on in Splatoon 2. I remember it was seen as a joke weapon in the first game and thought “lets see…”. Ever since, my love, blasters has been well known among my friend group. 😂

We can finally shoot in the air and not have to hope our shot goes where we aimed it towards. Air directs are, at last, a thing that Blasters can do reliably instead of, again, hoping the air shot hits something. The removal of Ink Armor also helped in Range Blaster's two indirect shot kill actually being what the numbers said it would be. It doesn't even need the Burst Bomb from the Grim kit to work this time around! (not that I would complain should we get it again...)

While the lack of precision is terrible in the air in Splatoon 2, I an still say that for more than once, I jumped and my aim was of, but the rng just forced the shot to hit directly anyway giving me the kill lol

My favourite thing about watching these videos is realising how much of an amazing job the balancing is in this game, you can have fun and do well with any weapon, while still being pretty viable if you dedicate yourself enough. Honestly, what a time to be a Splatoon player! :) Thanks for the vids, really happy to learn more with every upload! We need a video on gear also please XD I'm just farming things but I still have no idea how to theorize a proper gear set-up without trying endless options!

Your content was a huge reason why I got back into Splatoon 2 after the announcement of Splatoon 3. I picked up KRapid after watching you play with it, and it instantly became my favorite weapon in that game. Once Splat 3 came out, I immediately bought a Range Blaster and some gear with intensify action and instantly fell in love with it. Everything about the weapon just clicked with me. Even though it's not the strongest in the game, it's the one I tend to have the most fun with

I never had a Switch when 1 and 2 came out so 3's my first and I've always been a shotgun person. I was pleased to see Blasters getting some love as the Luna most closely aligns with my shotgun playstyle in other shooters, which is always I like going for oneshots and playing around angles/movement with a fairly high ROF to be able to take 2on1s. I know the Brella exists too, but besides its spread firing, the identity doesn't feel very close range focused

i never had a main weapon since splatoon 1, i always floated around a lot but i knew for sure my favorite role is support/frontline. i think i leaned towards roller a bit though, since i loved the curling bomb + roller combo (which i still like today!). i love going for picks and predicting movements, and once i picked up the blaster in splatoon 3, it felt really amazing and satisfying to play and i'm determined to improve my skills with it. awesome video :]

Great video, Chara. I had overlooked the Rapid Pro's defensive capabilities, I'll have to give it a go. On the off chance you're open to video suggestions, I'd like to see one where you go over what you like and dislike about the maps currently in the game - though, I admit, the idea is so simplistic I wouldn't be suprised to hear you have a similar video in the works already.

man do i love where blasters are. never in 2 did i think i'd use the range due to how bad it was, and now i'm a range main. before the only blaster i'd use was the kuna, and i was mostly carried by fizzy. now i use range and not as much luna. luna is okay... i think fizzy is a much better sub for the luna due to the fact that it can make paths, but splat bomb is always a solid sub, and i'm just not a fan of zipcaster in general. but i love range; wavebreaker works perfectly with it and it's in a really good spot now. getting directs feels amazing and i love getting them at a sorta close range, like how you do. you were the one who inspired me to give it a try, and man am i glad i did.

Here's a random myth I have a feeling about: being shot or having been recently shot slightly lengthens the time that reefslider takes to start moving. Oh and another thing, people keep complaining about invisibility frames but they start slightly after the reefslider starts charging, can confirm from getting stamped and ramming over it at the same time

As a rapid main in Splatoon 2, Rapid felt so much more consistent with its shots than ever and idk if that’s the Splatoon 3 placebo or the mechanics of the game adding onto it but I adore playing it now where back then I’d swap weapon constantly. While I personally don’t care much for ink mines I do like the utility it has for Retreating and being able to get reversals when being chased, though I’d rather have Auto Bomb. It’s the first weapon I got to 4* and I’m having a blast with it and Inkstrikes.

I recently started getting into Splatoon. I use to play gears of war computability from gears 2 all the way to gears 4 and halo 2 until 5. I can't believe I never started playing this earlier. I’ve been using the default Blaster for TC and it’s become one of my favorites. I think the balanced stats and easy to use specials make this the perfect Blaster for noobs like me and getting a direct hit really is the most satisfying thing in the world. Granted I still suck ass at the game but I’m glad to have found a weapon that fits my play style and I honestly would never have even considered using it were it not for you!

Been having a lot of fun with the rapid, will say I don't think people are giving ink mine enough credit, on Rapid specifically I really love how you can combo a mine into a direct for a kill, it's a great and satisfying way to punish flankers. Rapid already has long-range explosive shots so it the loss of a traditional bomb isn't a huge deal for me. I've been finding more success with the rapid than the rapid pro but that might just be a personal thing since i really hate toxic mist lol.

I started playing range blaster for the first time only recently after watching your plays with it (and the how to use range blaster video), tons of fun now that Im getting the hang of it and find it really satisfying to get kills off with it, especially with direct hits Only wish the range blaster didnt have a sub that sucked out almost all the ink, id love it if it had burst bomb as I tend to 'panic button' whenever another player sneaks up and gets too close and I cant do that with the sucker bomb

I just wanted to quickly say,that Blaster been always the hell for me,i'd never liked them cause of their range and the way they shoot. But yesterday i told my mom to buy me one new weapon from sheldon and she choose the normal blaster .It has been so much fun playing with it,ive been getting better and better and i also tried out the undercover umbreally wich is now one of my fav weapons.Ive been a Gallon 96. main my whole life just like im a dynamo main but trying out new weapons was a good option.

I had a soft spot for normal blaster back in S2, but it was so hard to use and the fact that I was already try-harding other weapons (Glooga) I just didn’t invest the time into making it one of my mains. But I tried it again last night, and yikes! Some intensify action and Qr made it feel a million times better. I also think that the better, more stable motion controls also help blaster out, or at least make them easier to use :)

I like rapid blaster for splat zones, feel like ink mines are great for helping it hold the zone and triple ink strike is good for taking the zone back from the enemy. Don't think I'd use it in any other mode though

The thing about blasters is that when someone mains one, they KNOW how to make it work! Rapid blaster feels better in turf wars def. It’s kinda fun sharking around an inkmine and pelting whatever poor sap tries to rush a choke point in places like Hammerhead Bridge and Sturgeon Shipyard. If Port Markerel was in 3 in the future it could be a great pick for that stage due to all the narrow hallways.

As a clash blaster main. It's a good weapon. It's range is the perfect distance that people will usually find themselves at when fighting. Because of that even if you miss a but the blast radius and rapid fire help to always ensure kills. As far as blasters go it's a pretty mobile weapon. And as stupid as it may sound I use it over the rapid blaster because it has less range.

I started trying the blasters in S3 and Iike how they feel so far, good for comp at least. The range blaster feels the best so far since it has suction bomb and wave breaker which can push enemeis back and get sime sick kills. I tried the rapid blaster and it feels akward with its current set, like it’s trying to be aggressive but can’t. Intensity action definitely helps with the jump shoots and squid rolls as well. Honestly I’m just satisfied with how good they feel now.

Rapid blaster pro is actually looking pretty good imo, the ink Vac is fantastic when you get cornered. I actually had a funny moment recently in Turf War where a Squiffer player thought he had me pinned, and then I splatted him with the initial projectile of the Vac because he was standing still to wait out the vac and keep aiming at me

I'm happy that blasters got a good middleground between 1 and 2! And ink armour stay dead, it really crippled a lot of weapons and I'm happy that S3 is breathing new life into them, it's quite refreshing honestly. Even if all the people who played 2 are crying sobbing abt how long ranged is """OP""" in 3. I mained rb pro when I started bc I never really found a spot I liked in 2 (probably bc I used sticks and chargers (ik I'm disgusted with myself but I have me reasons I swear)) but once I figured out motion controls, the rapid blaster just felt right. Now I main tristringer but I'll go back to rb pro every now and then when I feel like playing more aggressive.

As a Luna Blaster main, I have my off and on days. On a good day I can get up to 16 kills in turf, but on a bad day you'll only get 3-5 splats. One thing I've notice is that if you are directly touching an enemy player and low on ink, it won't give you a direct splat because it doesn't have enough ink to do so. Please be aware of your ink tank. If you want to play Luna, it can be played stealthy, but also upclose, so it is a good surprise attacker. It will struggle against chargers though

I recently picked up the range and regular blasters after being a splat roller main since splat 1 and also loving the squiffer and it just really fits my play style ':D I'm trying to get better at using them rn, but I just really enjoy playing them, so I'm glad they're like actually fine in this game compared to Splat 2. :)

I feel that having good cover is key to playing Blasters; when fighting against Clash Blaster, I found that the best way to counter them is to engage in the open and close in asap.

I’m into Luna because I don’t have to be gear dependant, have a big blast radius, (I miss a lot) and my 2nd favorite special. I love zipcaster because it is good at getting in, and it recalls almost always around when I’m about to die because of my zipcaster strategy for every stage involves painting enimies base to lure them away from objective in most modes and “spawn camping” them until I recall. Splat bomb is also fine for me bc it’s good on T.C. and helps stall opponents from a distance. I just wish it had shark instead because it’s invincible and makes big boom which means NO ONE TOUCHES ME! Praying for shark sensor on the neo kit. Until then, WE STRIKE ON THE BLOOD MOON LUNAS!

I remember picking up Blasters in Splats 1 & 2 because y'know... sick flames, but I was ultimately trash with them. I decided to try them again in 3 (Range Blaster has the rawest design out of all of them no cap) and dude it feels so much better to use... Maybe it has something to do with me getting older and my aim getting better, but Splat 3's Blasters feel much more satisfying to use.

I’m so glad range is good now, I enjoyed it in 2 but the endless barrage of missiles and armor made it painful to play half the time

As someone who has always loved the rapid pro even back in the days of it being considered garbage in the first game I'm always happy to hear when high level players think it has potential to be a higher tier weapon.

How exactly do you build comps? Especially for blasters and chargers? I do not know how to do this but thank you for mentioning that blasters need quick respawn, intensify action, and one sub of sub saver and main saver. I'll keep that in mind before battles.

Range blaster has become my #1 friend for comp, I don't know why it just fits my play style super well and I get like 20+ kills almost every time

I’ve never been a blaster person, even back in the first game. Not my style. I am still happy for the improvements to blasters in Splatoon 3 and I think I might actually consider giving them a go because the game in general feels so good to play.

As someone who isn't in competitive play and is usually solo queuing, what should I be doing AGAINST blasters? I play lots of short range weapons and on certain maps with lots of perching points I feel completely oppressed by blasters. Especially on TC. With them nicking me with the edge of the range, painting my feet and before I can move much. Just shoot again and Splat me. Usually safely under a ledge or around a corner. It feels real bad sometimes.

I'm luckily used to gear dependency because of having to use spu for crb in S2. All I really hope for is CRB to be given splat bomb back and crab because S1 CRB is what keeps me revisiting the game Like I said, the slot for a crab tank blaster is open since clash doesn't have it and a story mode level gives range splat bomb
