There are no good guys and bad guys here in Valorant cinematics. The green girl (Viper) you saw many times going both with and against protagonists are actually 2 different people came from different realities. So in the future if you see a person on different side just note that they might come from different realities and that's all :D In VALORANT we have 2 realities Alpha and Omega going against each other for the Radianite resources. Omega is more aggressive because they need to steal Radianite from Alpha for their world to survive but the Alpha world thought Omega is good for nothing and steal their Radianite to build weapons.

Ok, so brief lore guide - Valorant as a story is set in the future. It begins in the year 2039, where a company called Kingdom Corporation (KC) is researching on a rare element called Radianite, to create energy solutions that power almost 3/4th of the earth. The first significant event that occurred in 2039 was called "The First Light", where a strange anomaly at a KC facility led to a massive power surge that made Radianite unstable and gave a select few individuals special powers. These are called Radiants. On this discovery, KC assigned and funded Brimstone, an ex-special forces officer, and Viper, an award winning scientist, to form a special team of these Radianites called the Valorant Protocol (VP). Agents like Phoenix, Jett, Sage, Reyna, Yoru, and Omen are scouted and recruited by the VP and trained to be a special ops team trying to defend against Radianite related threats in our planet. Fast forward to 2049, an important incident in the timeline called "The Venice Incident", where we see Phoenix on a solo mission trying to acquire a special package called a "Spike" from another operator Jett (Episode 1 Cinematic). As you can see in the cinematic, Jett goes on to kill the "ult" form of Phoenix and goes on to detonate the spike, leading to a massive blast that destabilized reality and led to a floating island in the air in Venice. Phoenix, on rebirth, sees the disaster and reports it to Sage on comms. The next incident that occurs is at a KC excavation site in Russia, where we again see operators Jett, Viper and Cypher planting another spike to detonate (Episode 2 Cinematic). We see Phoenix and Yoru fight the trio, leading to Your defusing the bomb this time. The public, however, gets to know the details behind the Venice Incident, and are angry at KC due to the massive damage caused by their technology, and holding a manhunt for Phoenix and Jett, who were caught on security cameras. The third attempt at detonating the spike is seen at another KC facility in Rabat, Morocco, where the spike is planted by a 2nd Phoenix (oooh). A new recruit KillJoy, who was another young and brilliant inventor under KC, now a part of VP, is sent to defuse the spike, with backup consisting of our Phoenix and Viper (Episode 3 Cinematic). This is where the big plot twist of Valorant is revealed, as during the engagement, Phoenix comes face-to-face with his counterpart, and cannot believe his eyes. Viper however, privy to this knowledge, saves Phoenix and goes on to defuse the spike with KillJoy. Then, Phoenix asks Viper "How is this possible?" and asks for answers, as Viper says Brimstone will fill him in on the truth. The true plot of Valorant is that there are two mirror Earths, called Alpha and Omega Earth. The story till now consisted of agents from Omega Earth infiltrating Alpha Earth to detonate the spike near sites of Radianite, to create a portal and steal the Radianite back to their planet. Here, some background information is required. So, both the planets Alpha and Omega are pretty much the same, except the Radianite on Omega Earth is very unstable. This is why Omega Earth is facing a shortage of Radianite, which is necessary as a power source, and is trying to steal it from Alpha Earth. Omega Earth is known to be more advanced in technology, but due ti its unstable Radianite, has befallen to many natural disasters, leading to ruin and loss of life. Another important note here is that Omega Earth has its own version of KC, called Kingdom Industries (KI) and its own VP called Valorant Legion (VL). However, while VP is a secret organization on Alpha Earth funded by KC who are hated, VL is publically known on Omega Earth as heroes and KI is regarded as the saving grace of humanity. Now, being fed up of these attacks, VP decides it is their time to send their own attack on Omega Earth to find out what weapon VL was trying to make by stealing Alpha's Radianite. Brimstone orders KillJoy to make a dimension portal to reach Omega Earth, using the technology discovered from the spike, which was recovered by KillJoy in Rabat. Meanwhile, Sage and Brimstone order the VP agents to train for the upcoming battles, which is seen in Episode 4 Cinematic. KillJoy succeeds in making the portal, and a trio of Reyna, Neon (another new recruit from the Philippines) and KillJoy is sent to infiltrate the KI facility and find answers regarding this weapon (Episode 5 Cinematic). On arrival at the KI facility on Omega Earth, the trio are faced with heavy opposition from ATLAS, a special anti Radiant squad on Omega, along with the counterpart Viper. KillJoy manages to hack into the KI database, and to her great surprise, realizes that VL weren't stealing the Alpha Radianite for a weapon, but rather to make a Life Support System, to combat the natural disasters on Omega Earth and save its own population. The trio escape from the ATLAS operatives and find themselves on the GeoDome of Omega Earth. There is more upcoming lore that is released every week, with special incidents like the "Everett-Linde Research Lab disaster" and its connection to Chamber; the time traveled robot KAY-O with his memory files mentioning the "Radiant Wars" against Queen Reyna and the death of Brimstone; Skye and the massive sky rift in Australia; the infinite deaths and rebirth of Omen and the feud between Viper and Sage over his life; the infamous Turkish bounty hunter who turns out to be Fade; and the existance of celestial guardians like Astra, and the predesence of celestial artifacts such as Harbor's bracelet that activate the Nexus on Omega Earth. But these are the stories for you to find out! ;) Hope you understood some basic lore of Valorant.
