one of my favorite thing about the vocal line is you get 4 entirely different sounds and they're all amazing. they're all distinct and work perfectly together.
Timeless and gorgeous song. One of many extremely underrated BTS classics. But everyone can say that about any of their songs. Every time I listen to this again and see someone else hear it, it hits harder why they have so many listeners and fans and sold out stadiums.
It is virtually impossible to pick your favorite in this song. Just when you think Tae nailed it, Jin shows his silver vocals, then JK shows why he's absolutely the golden maknae, the Jimin hits you with his sweet angelic vocals!!!!! This is one of their most beautiful songs EVER!!!!!! And the ad libs by JK, Jin, and Jimin are out of this world!!!!!!

BTS members are very special. Individually, they're so amazing. As a group, truly wonderful! I don't know which patron Bighit went into to pray, them being able to present to the world the wonder that is BTS. So rare. I cannot, for the life of me, stop being amaze everytime when thought of BTS and members come to mind. Anyway, should react to Jin, the silver voice of BTS. He's like a silent King of the group...he's amazing. And for the other vocals of the group. I love this song. I wish it were longer. Their vocals are top notch and so emotional. I also think the live version is better than the studio version because the emotion comes out so much. The story behind the song... This song has a connection to the two conceptual lines of BTS, both to the Bangtan Universe BU and to the theories of Jungian Psychology that they have been developing since 2015. The song makes a direct reference to Italian folklore - “La Citta di Smeraldo”. The story describes a man who is said to be “ugly” and lives in a castle all by himself. He is an illegitimate child of a duke and therefore, was the victim of the hate of the Duke’s wife and her children. Just like in Beauty and the Beast a young girl steals flowers from his majestic garden in order to make the ends meet. When he first sees the missing flowers, he becomes quite displeased and attempts to capture the thief. However, when he finds that it was a young girl, he disguises himself and looks for her. Subsequently, he realizes the truth and the dire situation of the girl. He then decides to introduce himself as well as to help her by creating an expensive flower. During this period, he unconsciously starts expecting her visits and gradually becomes attached to her. After a long-time, he successfully creates the most beautiful blue flower called “Smeraldo” (Emerald) and notices that she is no longer visiting his garden. He then learns about her unfortunate death and becomes agitated. It is said that he spends the rest of his life in despair and misery, contemplating whether her life could have been saved if he was able to face her. The moral of the story, as interpreted by BTS, is that people are entrapped in the depths of misery and darkness due to the lack of self-love and confidence. The protagonist would have probably felt much better, had he talked to her and confronted his fears and insecurities. In addition, another aspect is that the way people are affected by childhood trauma and dysfunctional families. The man was highly affected by his childhood trauma caused by the Duke’s wife’s actions as well as by nasty comments made by people. Such a good song to showcase the whole vocal line. The mythology BTS created around the backstory is so interesting and the fictional smeraldo flower they referenced is even referenced in Jimins latest album.

I love how aware they are on stage, looking and listening what others are doing and reacting accordingly. I would like to recommend Paradise or Louder Than Bombs from BTS. This song is an absolute masterpiece in layering the vocals. Because of the complicated production, RM said it would be hard to perform live. I hope you'll check it out soon! I love this BTS song. It’s in my top 5. Another group you should check out , is the k-band The Rose ( Woosung the lead singer was the one featured in Suga’s song Snooze ). You should start with their song Back to me , and follow it with Alive. You won’t regret it!
I love musicians with passion and love for music, that's one thing I love BTS for 💜 I would therefore also recommend 'one ok rock', a great Japanese band, I think you would like the vocals in it. A good beginner song would probably be 'we are' the official live clip.

Two songs I’d recommend are “Your Eyes Tell,” my absolute favorite vocal line song. And “Waste it on Me,” a really fun song sung by JK and RM. it was produced by Steve Aoki and is acted out by a bunch of Asian actors, comedians, and singers. It’s very clever. They all lip sync to the song while performing the story behind the lyrics. I think you’d enjoy it.
Another amazing vocal line is House of Cards, especially live. Epiphany is a solo sung by Jin as BTS and phenomenal…live if you can find the subtitles over the MV or both please. Also, a very old one of RM’s is Joke MV. I feel that Jin was often overlooked in the beginning and now, more reactors are noticing his incredible range and emotional impact. I love all of them and do have a rapper bias, but I can’t help but love each of them in their own unique way. Without 1, there is no BTS. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇨🇦🫶🏼Thanks Teej!

For those who don't know 💜The Truth Untold - this is how they conceptualised the song: They created a very old and sad story called, 'La Città di Smeraldo' that takes place in a small town in Italy ( in the 16th Century -1500's). The story's about an 'ugly' man who hid in an old castle alone, even though he was a gentle good person, because of his looks he received lots of hate & cruelty while growing up. He never opened his heart to anyone. Eventually if anyone tried to approach him, he covered his deformed face with a mask and hid in fear, ...So he became bitter and angry. His one happiness in life was to plant beautiful flowers in his walled off garden. One night a woman appeared near the man's castle. She jumped over the garden fence and stole a flower. This angered the man at first. So he watched his garden all night. But when he fell asleep, the woman took another flower. This continued for several nights. The man pretended to be asleep and watched the woman steal a flower. He started becoming curious about the woman. He began waiting for her. Without realizing he started waiting for her to come and each day began to seem a little brighter. Following after her one day he realized that she was selling the flowers that she stole from him to try to make a living. The man falling in love so desperately wanted to help the woman. But he was afraid she would be terrified by the way he looks if he approached her. He 'knew' she would never be able love his 'grotesque' appearance. He came to a conclusion that the only way he would be able to help her is to keep himself hidden and let her continue stealing flowers from his garden. The man decided to make a flower that doesn't exist on the planet. So that the woman could sell them at a expensive price. He began to create the flower in his castle. After many unsuccessful attempts, the man created the most beautiful of all flowers (The Smeraldo Flower) and filled his garden with these beautiful flowers. But the woman stopped coming. No matter how long he waited she never came back to his garden. He eventually found out that the woman had starved to death before he could give her the flower that would have saved her. If only he had been brave enough to approach her😭 The smeraldo flower plays a part in the Bangtan Universe storyline, and you will see it in various MVs. The Smeraldo flower symbolizes the sincerity that could not be delivered. Taehyung could go really deep but he could also sing high note easily. On their new show Mini Moni, Jimin said he now learning to sing again so they way he sing here and the way he sing on WHO is different. He also jokingly said that he might couldnt sing old BTS song again😅 Most vocal part of BTS song is known to be really high. Even the vocal line sometimes complaint bout that😅 Add with hard choreo,its hard to sing it live if u dont have experience

Just started the vid & I have to add this real quick. If you haven't listened to "Operation: Mindcrime" by Queensryche, it is a must. You should listen to the whole thing straight through, so you may want to just do that on your own. It's a complete story. It stands right next to "Appetite for Destruction" for me.
