You might leave just a little bit of air somewhere. I've had reservoirless rigid tubing loops that popped due to the water expanding because of heat. The density only changes very little but as the water has nowhere to go it will build pressure very very fast and either pop a seal or crack a tube.

I have always dismissed hard piped water cooling as being overkill and too blingy. This though... This changed my mind. It's so clean. What struck me the most was the EK cooler for the 3080. The footprint.

This was suggested on my youtube feed and I did not know your channel. I loved this video and right now I'm binge watching your videos, thanks for showing the Power Consumption too, it was quite interesting to see that prob a 650W would be more than enough. Subscribed and hope to see more :)

Manufacturers should offer modular mini-radiators which could be directly connected to each other and you could use them instead of tubes and fill the entire unused internal volume with active heat exchanging elements.

I think a lot of the time people wayy overestimate the power draw of certain components. I.E. a 3600 and 2060 might be estimated to draw like 500-600 watts, but in reality the full build only draws like 300 watts.

I like the controlled noise. It gives a good comparison to how noisy things are.

You bring up a good point, the failure in engineering of the typical pump res combo. Is it that really that hard. to figure out that an optional intake tube would be a great idea? One that had a gentle bend so it will suck from the side and could be located to suck from the side(bottom) of the tube reservoir? Very interesting build indeed. I disagree with having the reservoir at the top being a bad idea, it can make filling much easier as the fluid can fill the loop as you put it in the reservoir and shake the case. What's surprising is that no one is using vacuum to fill their water cooling loops, it's like no one has ever heard of a vacuum pump. This has been used in the automotive industry for years as the only way to successfully fill the complicated cooling systems of modern cars. You apply a full vacuum on the 'loop' and if it holds for 30 minutes you drop the intake hose in the coolant bottle and open the valve to suck the coolant in to the 'loop' of the car. This would evacuate almost all of the air before you even power the pump for the first time. I tried this but it didn't work because the only fitting I had was on the cap of the reservoir and inconveniently EK decided to make their fittings fat an thus the O-ring would not seal on the reservoir cap of the Revo. I've not installed the pump/res yet to try this idea again.

Regarding the power consumption at the wall, you roughly get the actual PSU wattage by subtracting 8-10% or so, depending on the efficacy curve.

you make videos all the time about builds. stripping down and moving components is what you do. i think i sense a tingling in your for the "more premium" case.

Finally was able to build a pretty similar rig! 5600x + 3080 all Watercooled with the barrow cpu pump-block-res, a 280mm 30mm alphacool rad and 2 p14 ! Still can`t believe it, so yeah, tahnks a lot Ali!!! This is my workstation for 3D work and it is a tiny beast, also I started playing SW Battlefront 2 in 4k 60fps Ultra settings and temps are 50C Cpu 50Vram and 40 Gpu Cores, I`m so impressed on how low they are!

Beautiful, Can never go wrong with black/blue builds. They always look good even if it's not water cooled and just using blue led fans.

Shame to tear down this one. It really is beautiful. Looking forward to your next build though.

I've been running that same EK cryofuel coolant in my system for almost two years now and there's no sediment buildup, no color shift, still looks nice and clean as the first day fill.

Nice case and clean work! Also thank you for the noise comparison, gave me a good idea of the sound for my build, while I‘m waiting for the 3070 to get to an acceptable price range 😄

This thing is COMPACT as HELL !!!

Glad you finally tried it :) Was trying to tell you for the last couple of years that a 14-15 liter ITX case with 280 rad will make you happy. It is the the smallest thing you can build without compromising on performance. SM580 was the closest thing until recently and it still has some nice perks, but a bit to large. Even tried to build a case myself since i wanted: 1. 3 slots PCIe (dual for GPU and single for another GPU/card via bifurcation cable) 2. 40-45MM 280rad with "normal" 25mm fans 3. Custom loop support Ended up with 14.5 liters box - a bit ugly a bit boxy, but functional. Waiting for the Lian LI Q58 as it seems to have everything i wanted except PSU mount. Will have to modify the case a bit to mount it rotated 90 (fan toward the MB. This way there is plenty space for liquid cooled GPU and a pump res combo.

Seriously, I have never messed with so much as an AIO but I have never wanted to try a custom loop more than right now. That system is JUST the right balance between flashy and subdued, between colorful and muted, and that is right where I like it.

What I did was unplug the chipset fan as changing the thermal pad didn't even work, and surprisingly the temps sank from 80°C to about 75°C max without the fan running

Thats sick, built two mini itx air cooled. But loved doing it so much. I really want to get into liquid cooled. If anybody reads this and has some videos or resources I should start reading and watching I would appreciate it !

This is actually an amazing case.. Simple enough that could imagine doing a build on this. But I love my Shift X which is modded so ill probably stay with that.

I know this is 4 months old, but EK has FLT 80 Pump-Res that would fix your pump mounting issues.

This is one of my favorite builds so far, you did a great job. I been excited ever since they teased that block. I really wanna see a similar build in a silver aluminum case with satin black hardline tubing

You can reduce the chipset temps by turning on Link state Power Management in your windows power plan. My chipset drops about 15-20 degrees by doing that.

Looks great! I'm not a big fan of water cooling due to possible liquid spillage on the electronic parts but this built seems to be pretty safe as it looks like most of the tube connection isn't hanging above the e-parts. Good stuff.

my estimate is the water cooling components cost 930 together. The fittings were 209 according to the ek website

I really liked building in this case and was eager to enjoy good performance with just a single 280mm rad but its just not enough for these components. Each one on their own is easily cooled, but when gaming for example a single 280mm rad with two industrial grade noctua fans at 2000rpm just isn't enough to even keep an undervolted 5900x in check.
