Right?! I was a bit skeptical when I heard they were producing this, but man it just reminded me why I love Fallout so much. They killed it with the teaser, here’s to hoping the show lives up to it!
Do you know how much joy it brings me to see such clever story telling in one tiny speck of a scene, where the tumbleweed goes past and scares her because she has no idea what it is. I really have a good feeling about this show because it exhibits about 300% more story telling ability in that one tiny shot than 90% of what is being released in current year.
Good catch with the tumbleweed scene, I didn’t even think of that (brain is too excited). Fallout has some of the best instances of subtle and environmental story telling, I’m excited to see if that translates to the show. And also the performances! Already they’re looking to be great, like you said.
Nice reaction, you are the first one of all the reactions that i have seen so far that calls the Yao Guai by his ingame name and not just a bear or mutated bear.
Lucy the main female character is played by Ella Purnell who voiced Jinx in Arcane Series and also played Jackie in Yellowjackets. There is some people that said that we are going to have 3 main characters hope that is true would be nice and interesting way to go.
Ahh, didn’t realize she voiced Jinx! Now I’m extra excited for her performance in the show. I could see her, that BoS solder, and the Ghoul all becoming prominent POV characters.
Based on number of episodes the actors appear in we will have at least two: her and Walton Goggins ghoul character. Goggins is imo the largest name attached to the series acting wise so I feel he was cast to be a lead.
F3 and FNV are amazing games and are definitely in need of a current gen upgrade. F4 is a great install into the series. It has its detractors of course, but it has the most replayability, IMO. F76 started off rough but is now a really awesome time if you are open to the single player aspects as well as multi-player and the community is really great.
I think that the cyclops guy is in ANOTHER vault that Vault 33. They have said that Lucy's father is the Overseer of Vault 33 and is played by Kyle McLaughlin. The cyclops is obviously an Overseer (since he is at an overseer's desk with the Overseer window behind him). There is a brief scene near the end (after the Yao Guai) with Lucy running with a metal briefcase that looks suspiciously like a G.E.C.K. If Lucy was sent out to obtain a G.E.C.K. it would be in keeping with Fallout 1 & 2 lore and also explain why she visits another Vault. As for the Axolotl I suspect that is a re-vamped version of a Centaur, since they were a force-together animal/human hybrid. The ones in game frankly look a little dumb today, so that may be the new version.
This trailer looks SO GOOD! I cannot wait to see how season 1 plays out. The trailer I watched said fast delivery and I noticed yours actually said Free 2-Day shipping btw
Had to double-take when I saw this, I’m a big fan of your Wheel of Time content! Interesting detail with the shipping joke, I wonder if the different Amazon channels have different text or something. But yeah, the hype is REAL! This show is gonna be something special.
This is a show that could last for many seasons and still have stories to tell, I've said for many years Fallout would make the coolest series if done right. Lucky us Jonathon Nolan got his hands on the project.
So true, Fallout has such a great setting and you really could tell endless amounts of stories within it. I wouldn’t even mind if every season (assuming multiple) followed different characters and plots. Crossing my fingers it performs well and we get more!
I have been a long time fan of this series of video games, my first experience was one of the first two games on probably the original PlayStation at a friend's house, years later not very many years later I would play fallout 3 while my newborn son was in his baby jumper type thing watching me play and every time a ghoul would say smooth skin he would laugh, he's now 14❤❤❤❤
Those are some awesome memories, and man, time flies! I finally saved enough with my first job to buy a gaming console and the first game I played on it was Fallout, I waited eagerly for school to end each day so I could get back to the wasteland. Good times.
The Axolotl is a "Salamander" The Ghoul is played by Walt Goggins (from Justified) It looks like vault 33 is doing some stuff effecting peoples minds, it looked like a full on riot. So that may be some sort of hallucination causing her to see one eye on that dude.
@@honest_cake not technically a Salamander but they're from the same evolutionary branch. They could call it a Gulper, but Todd also said there were going to be new creatures in the series, so this is likely our first look at one of those.
The company/corporation from fallout 4, that was a partner company to Vault Tec was called HalluciGen. They could be responsible for this. You find out about them from Vault 88 as you are sent on a quest to acquire a chemical compound formula from the building in Downtown Boston. When you get there you find it is crawling with Gunners who are all influenced by the leaking gas (a great way to pick up some decent laser and plasma weapons). In addition it could just be Vault Tec and what they had planned for Vault 33 as part of their "sick experiment". I'm guessing it might have something to do with Psycho but HalluciGen would be my other guess.
It is an axolotl but with human fingers so I'm guessing some FEV creature, if there are FEV creatures there should be both Super mutants and hopefully some remnant of the Enclave. This is set after Fallout 4 (approximately a decade after) taking what happened in fallout 4 as canon but leaving it open as to what happened. I'm not sure what they are doing with regards to the original Fallout 1, fallout 2 and New Vegas. There should be the NCR (New California Republic) but they seem absent which is a bit worrying, no sign of the Legion or the Great Khans. The little town shown is called "Filly" and is inspired by Junktown (Fallout 1), Megaton (Fallout 3) and Diamond City (Fallout 4). The ghoul could well be the "Man in Black", he is both dressed in black, and a badass (Walton Goggins). It's interesting to see the Brotherhood of Steel on the ropes. The base they launch from is in Utah (and it is a real place that was used for bomb testing). Johnathon Nolan is a fan of the Fallout franchise so I think we can be in for something good here. The guy escaping with dogmeat has worked with Johnathon Nolan before, he was in Lost and Person of Interest (Michael Emerson). He is either a scientist or a synth (or both), he could have also been a former part of the enclave or the institute. The cyclops thing is kinda new but would possibly happen in a vault, this cyclops is in another vault so not 33. I'm kinda happy there will be other vaults to check out. Kinda stoked for this, just hope it isn't a bust.
Agree i think it looks like a fantastic adaptation. My worry was they would go in a super depressing bleak direction. This always struck me as a potential problem as i think what makes fallout so special is its ability to tell serious stories without taking itself too seriously.
That’s why they showed the cyclops guy with the moldy coffee. To let you know there will be laughs and weird things that make Fallout great. But remember Fallout can be very bleak sometimes.
@@Reddervetter totally. As much as I loved Walking Dead, it was always very dark and some of the lighter moments felt forced because you knew it would only last so long. I for one hope they go full on Wild Wasteland perk for Lucy. It will be hilarious to see her reaction to some of the more off the wall stuff that happens
@@CassandraHouse exactly what I'm saying. Writers can have more fun when they let there be some lightness in the darkness, Lucy is the perfect framework for it.
I kind of hope the dog is called Dogmeat just for the tradition of it. But have to point out that, that dog is not a German Shepherd, its a Belgian Malinois.
Don’t think the finger-creature was originally in any of the games. It’s definitely not a centaur or a mirelurk… I’m excited to see some new creatures though! I hope there will be super mutants and deathclaws as well! I am so stoked for this.
My first thought was some kind of Mirelurk but the fingers quickly made me change my mind, haha. And oh boy, somehow I didn’t even think of Deathclaws, now THAT would be something on screen!
I imagine it probably looks so much like Fallout 4 because Bethesda likely provided assets for the shows artists to utilize. Like they probably straight up have them Vault geometry, Prydwen models, etc.
I was sick of seeing reactions from people saying “let me preface this by saying I’m not the biggest fallout fan” or “I’ve only put a handful of hours into fallout “ I immediately click off the video.
Apparently its another ship based on the Prydwynn this show is set 7 or 9 years after the events of fallout 4. Assume the Brotherhood have gotten a stronger foothold than they had all oer the US at this point and the NCR might be against them. not seen any NCR stuff yet just a few flags in leaks.
I think that Elder Maxson said in Fallout 4 that after dealing with Institute they will go west to reconnect with that Bortherhood of Steel. So I assume they build fleet of ships by using old planes remains from Boston airport. And what we see is their arrival to East Coast Brotherhood. I think that NCR will be conquered by New Enclave (basing on what was shown in leaks). So I assume that character of Squire Maximus will be from east BoS and is asigned to east coast Knight (showrunner said that we will se that every faction is nither good or evil) so we might see that east BoS are fare more ruthless and brutal due to constant fight with New Enclave, while it will made him question his place in this world. On other hand The Ghoul might be main antagonist in Season 1 but it as I presume (also) a bait and switch, because he is looking for his daughter who was abducted.
@@sw-gsnobody good or evil is fine and it's like the game. The ship is the caswennan! I am a fan of fallout 1,2 and new vegas... Chris Avellone should have been a writer or a producer, he kind of create this world!
So fun to see so much Fallout discourse in the comments :’) I do like the idea that it might be the Brotherhood heading back West with a new iteration of the Prydwen, it also let’s them get away with not acknowledging the canon ending of Fallout 4. Was it in Fallout Tactics that you could find BoS airship remains? (I don’t think that’s canon though)
@honest_cake Bethesda doesn't consider story of Fallout:BoS and Fallout Tactics as canon, yet they took some parts of lore from them too. I have mixed feelings about that.
Trailer looks great, I’ve got full faith in Nolan to deliver something high quality, he’s been a big fan of the games for years so he’s the right man for the job. I think this show is gonna end up being great
